If you think these guys are the most talented musicians, you have not heard any professional musicians. The best talented at their instrument is Mike Soprano. But seriously, they are no where near the level of professional musicians. Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic players, but to be the best or even close you must go on a whole new level. In the end, Streetlight Manifesto = best band ever. Solo's are great :D
I was there, that show was amazing, did anyone see me? I was the one in the purple/pink top.. i'm so cool/gorgeous that you will never forget me... but yeah, that show was totally fucking swaeet.
FUCKING AWESOME TENOR SOLO! I play tenor as well along with many other instruments and im fucking good but this guy rules dude... well hey... im only 17
actually, both skaman and factorial are right, when they do solos, its hers to life into chords, which are the same chords as summertime, and then at the end , they play the actual melody to sumertime
Factorial, it does sound like jazz standard summer time, but i think its the heres to life intro played at a different tempo, it also makes sense bc i think he goes into heres to life after( or thats what someone who went to the show told me) so idunno lol good call tho
I nEEEEED to learn Jim's solo.

streetlight is awesome, despite tomas's huge ego

Jim Conti's solo is so amazing.
Rich049 3 years ago
whats the chord progression to this :D
Panthro3000 4 years ago
Dm, Am, E7, Am is pretty much it.
It might change a little for the Summertime bit, but I don't think so.

Streetlight's horn players could play one note and it would sound amazing
I think for this video Mike's solo was my favorite
SkaGuitarGuru 4 years ago 13
In my humble opinion, I think that Jim's was equally as amazing.
sourwhiterose99 3 years ago
I honestly do not think you can get anymore of a talented horn line up. Seriously. Think about it. It's insane. Dedication.

I think they make a living out of it, so they are 'professional musicians' ;)
guppygould 3 years ago 4
lol i guess, but no where near the best in actual instrumentation :D
Panthro3000 3 years ago
Pretty damned close, then.
Hunter623 3 years ago
Panthro3000 is correct. Definately best band.

this is actually a pretty common jazz song called "Summertime"
sublime used the theme in their song "Doin' Time"
checkeredguitar7 4 years ago 4
Actually, I think its for "would you be impressed"
tluck81 4 years ago
Different key than "Would You Be Impressed?"
Impressed is in Bbm
This is in Am, the same as "If an When We Rise."
There's a video of "If and When We Rise" on here with them playing this right after it.

You've convinced me

it sounds like they go into point/counterpoint at the end, since i (think) can hear him say "i've got a" before the video ends.

I love it when it picks up its so cool. Me and My band do this now we just have a set chord progression and solo to it. its sick
I love These Guys
Ska752 4 years ago
Mhmm, I'm doing something similar to this with my band also.
Though mine's got a little horn riff between the solos, but it's the same concept.

I'm pretty sure this is the outro/extended outro to If And When We Rise, as it's in the same key and essentially the same progression.
