This film didn't win an Oscar, ever. Check the Academy records for best animated short film. This doesn't mean that it shouldn't have won one, since it is a great film. Braverman first showed it on Geraldo Rivier's first national TV show, the late night "Good Night America", hence the Geraldo cameo in the film.
Braverman got his start in the big time with two shorter films, "1968", and "History of America in 3 Minutes" both shown on the Smother Brothers Comedy Hour in 1969. Someday, a DVD?
In 1974, I was a sophomore in high school and my English teacher brought in a film for us to watch on some rainy day. It was this film. And it hit me right between the eyes and I became a HUGE Beatles fanatic after that.
Awesome! Very well put together!

Very cool. A great period piece, something edited this raw wouldn't be released today. Thanks for posting!
