Pride has weight-divisions AND open-weights. Shogun didnt particpate in any grand prixes/open-weights so he's no stranger to cuting or making weight or fighting different sized 205's.

Big Nog was not crisp, but Herring was tougher than he has been lately in that fight. And Hendo and Rampage are both PRIDE fighters who have done well in the UFC, as is Anderson Silva. Rampage is a PRIDE fighter -- not WFA. Identifying someone as a "PRIDE fighter" links them to a skill level that was fostered while fighting in PRIDE. Still have love for ya, tho!

Look at who Rua has fought in the past - Coleman, Rampage, etc. All much bigger guys. There's no excuse for his lack of performance really. He just got outdone by a more aggressive, more powerful fighter - who is coming into his own.
There are no argument any more. No bullshit excuses. The proof is there in the results. Pride has died. :)

I think today any arguments that Pride fighters are by far better than UFC fighters was thrown out the window.
Forrest handed Rua his ass on a paper plate. And the only Pride fighter to do anything substantial in the UFC thus far is Rampage.
So from now on, lets just enjoy the MMA.

Anderson Silva was 3-2 in PRIDE, before he joined UFC.
UFC will have 3 champions at the end of 2008 who fought before at PRIDE.

Man, you are way simplified on PRIDE. CroCop has not looked hot, but all other PRIDE fighters have looked as good as they always have. Big Nog was not crisp, but Herring was tougher than he has been lately in that fight. And Hendo and Rampage are both PRIDE fighters who have done well in the UFC, as is Anderson Silva. Rampage is a PRIDE fighter -- not WFA. Identifying someone as a "PRIDE fighter" links them to a skill level that was fostered while fighting in PRIDE. Still have love for ya, tho!

it's actually mauricio MOW-REE-C-OW, MOW (as in COW, the same pronunciation except with an M instead of C), REE (as you'd pronounce RIO, but only the RI part), C (as pronounced in the English alphabet), OW (pronounced like the OW in SLOW). The rest is accurate. Sorry to be such a pain, but I don't know why this matters. Everyone have accents, I have a huge English accent, and try my best to pronounce everything clear, but for instance, I can't say the word "world" correctly :p
