  • I love the 'farting' sound of the throaty exhaust from Bristols

  • also rode on this one at wythall,in great condition.prefer the sound of the gardner engine though. One of these on ebay for £2500,been on there for a while!

  • Never got the opportunity to catch any of these when they were in service. Got to ride this beauty not long after she was finished being preserved on the car park shuttle service, These buses look weird from the back due to the unorthodox MCW bodywork which was normally used on the fleetlines great looking buses all the same. Great beast of a bus. Have ridden on both preserved WMPTE Bristol VR's this & 4714. Great video of a great bus.

  • @Squiz1971 Hi and thanks for your comment. I did travel on these when in service mainly operated in Walsall at the time. Unfortunately showing my age!

  • @utubescooby1 Hey I was around when they was in service too & I only saw the Walsall based ones when I went to the arboretum one year early eighties I think & saw 1 drive past not sounding to clever either. Saw others too I think, these were a strange choice by WMPTE tho

  • @Squiz1971 In the days of experimentation when buses had character! A unique chapter in The WMPTE Handbook!

  • @utubescooby1 Yes very true shame all but a few are still around. Better buses than some of the choices by their predecessors. Great buses alongside the fleetlines & the Metrobuses, There are I believe 3 preserved Vr's 4653 4413 & 4714. Where 4653 is I am unsure
