@dannyboyxd122222 the governor is this program in your computer to shut down once it hits a certain speed or RPM, once these are ingaged in 6th gear hitting 170 the car will shut down to i say 70 miles an hour and then you can drive agian,but its just a shut down thing..kuss odvisiouly this fuckers haul ass and will easily ran away from cops ..

sorry but i think this video is fake. he zooms in real close for a long ass time and doesnt zoom back out till he slows down. just before he zooms in all the way you can see what looks like a bus on the other side of the hwy going the opposite way... if he was really going 170 then that bus would have gone by a lot faster, and then it looks like he slows down to about 90 or 100 in about 5 seconds.... sorry but i call bullshit. and just for the record, i love camaros. its my favorite kind of car.

@gman323 a stock 2002 LS1 camaro puts out around 304 HP to the wheels on pump gass, intake and exaust with 100 octane fuel will put it around the 350 mark, actually if you just bolt on some ported heads intake and exaust will get you close to 350 at the wheels on pump gas (91)

there might be 1000hp evo's but its not the hp that wins the race, its the torque tht dohc 2.0 might have 1000hp but only 700lbs of torque an ls1's numbers will almost match up, theres no replacement for displacement

@TPena92 Do a bit of searching around. The fastest 3800 FWD in the world did 8.7 for a 1/4 mile, a 3800 RWD did it in 7.7 I'm very certain I remember hearing of an LS1 doing a 1/4 mile around 5.7.

I drive a 97 Z/28, and my Speedometer only goes up to 150, and believe me there is no way his stock Camaro goes 170. I have only gotten mine up to 120, hoping to push it beyond that limit this summer!

dude look up the stats...an evo and sti are good from a dig...LT1 yeah it will take from a roll but not LS1. STI shuts off at 151 and EVO is drag limited to 150. They may have half the size but they have a fucking turbo. LS1 is rated at 305 to the motor but they put down 320 rwhp bone stock. they are VERY underated. thats about 360-370 on the motor compared with 270 for an evo...sti may do the 1/4 at 13.5 @ 103 while my STOCK WS6 runs 12.9-13.0 @ 108. an evo or sti will NOT beat me from a roll

Your evo or sti will not beat an Ls/Lt in a straight line. In the corners, yes but not on the drag strip. The Ls/Lt has more potential in putting bigger numbers down. You have a turbo on your car if i put one or a supercharger on my v8 it'd smoke the evo.

@fifty2100 thats true to a point fifty, but if the weight of the car is excatly the same( odds are they arent) and the hp numbers are remotely close odds are the 4wd will win straight line. its not always power to weight ratio if you cant put the power to the ground.
The only issue is whether or not you can hook... that's where those AWD cars get the advantage, even running stock tires against drag radials. Takes a lot of skill to match that 60' time.

@gman323 a stock 2002 LS1 camaro puts out around 304 HP to the wheels on pump gass, intake and exaust with 100 octane fuel will put it around the 350 mark, actually if you just bolt on some ported heads intake and exaust will get you close to 350 at the wheels on pump gas (91)

@gman323 yeah but after you shift into 3rd AWD cars dont have any pull (I've felt this in both an 05 STI and and evo VIII that we had on the lot, neither of which were stock, also on my friends 300GT turbo) 1st gear kicks ass, second gear is not as good but by no means slow, after that it just doesnt feel special anymore, oh and i forgot to throw in a tune last time,
a LS1 camaro with ported heads, intake/exaust and a tune will put out around 450RWHP give or take

There is no better car. Different cars are designed for different things. ofcouse you can make a v8 fast in a quatermile you could have a 586 with two huge 88mm turbos and get 2500hp but thats only good to go straight

there might be 1000hp evo's but its not the hp that wins the race, its the torque tht dohc 2.0 might have 1000hp but only 700lbs of torque an ls1's numbers will almost match up, theres no replacement for displacement

@Themajority My dad lost his license for years when he got clocked doing 157+ in a 73 Charger w/ a 440 six-pack (swapped in place of the stock 400). He had $8,000 into the engine alone. He still has the receipt for the engine work and the speeding ticket. It was the car I rode home in after I was born. Wish he still had it. I have a 93 Z28, 94 V6 camaro and a 73 AMX (car my dad wanted back in HS).

@TPena92 Do a bit of searching around. The fastest 3800 FWD in the world did 8.7 for a 1/4 mile, a 3800 RWD did it in 7.7 I'm very certain I remember hearing of an LS1 doing a 1/4 mile around 5.7.

@TPena92 Appears I was wrong, the fastest LS1 streetable car on record does the 1/4 mile in 6.8 seconds. The fastest LS1 non-streetable car may be in the low 6's or high 5's, can't find a video though.

I drive a 97 Z/28, and my Speedometer only goes up to 150, and believe me there is no way his stock Camaro goes 170. I have only gotten mine up to 120, hoping to push it beyond that limit this summer!

dude look up the stats...an evo and sti are good from a dig...LT1 yeah it will take from a roll but not LS1. STI shuts off at 151 and EVO is drag limited to 150. They may have half the size but they have a fucking turbo. LS1 is rated at 305 to the motor but they put down 320 rwhp bone stock. they are VERY underated. thats about 360-370 on the motor compared with 270 for an evo...sti may do the 1/4 at 13.5 @ 103 while my STOCK WS6 runs 12.9-13.0 @ 108. an evo or sti will NOT beat me from a roll

i'm not arguing that the sti and evo are a joke, they're good cars that can make power just like anything else. an evo can get a LS1 from a dig but thats it...there's about a 100 hp difference.
look up the stats on an 08 evo...it runs the 1/4 at a 13.9 @ 100...my ls1 ran 12.9 @ 108...an evo would simply not catch me on top end. the only reason it managed to get in the 13s is because of awd

Your evo or sti will not beat an Ls/Lt in a straight line. In the corners, yes but not on the drag strip. The Ls/Lt has more potential in putting bigger numbers down. You have a turbo on your car if i put one or a supercharger on my v8 it'd smoke the evo.

@fifty2100 thats true to a point fifty, but if the weight of the car is excatly the same( odds are they arent) and the hp numbers are remotely close odds are the 4wd will win straight line. its not always power to weight ratio if you cant put the power to the ground.

The only issue is whether or not you can hook... that's where those AWD cars get the advantage, even running stock tires against drag radials. Takes a lot of skill to match that 60' time.

@username2153 have you taken a camaro or firebird around the track? Camaros handle real well, ive never ran against an sti or evo around a track, but i know in a straight line my stock B4C will beat an STi, and my first time taking my car around a track i was able to out handle a 350Z.
