  • I find absolutely nothing wrong with this!

  • Talented singer with so much less name recognition than Ella and Billie...

  • Anita was definitely "one of the guys" in an age when ladies were supposed to stay on their pedestal Anita would have none of it. She and Krupa were definitely "outlaws " in the entertainment world of their day and as a result broke ground that the likes of Dorsey, Miller, and even Artie Shaw wouldn't touch--except to follow their lead. No wonder they ended up together.

  • Too bad the normal length for these kind of songs back then was 2 minutes. It should be like 10 haha

  • @guitarheroaddict2 That's because they only had 78 rpm records back then for the general record buying public and the most amount recorded time on a 78 was little over three minutes.. It wasn't until 1948 when the 45 rpm and LP was introduce that you could record longer songs...which of course didn't catch on until the late1950's when 78 were being phasedout for the american market..

  • @sopaman1234 thanks for the fun fact :] i should've realized they didnt have the technology we do now

  • Oh Anita !

  • Best female singer of the 20th century. She never hits a note head-on, always from the side, like a baseball pitcher nicking the corners.

Salutacion

  • Its like one of the "original" rock & roll songs - very similiar to "rock around the clock!"

  • Love her. Great band and arrangement too.

  • One of the finest singers, EVER. Your videos are very well presented. Terrific!

  • what a beautiful woman she was. women dont look like this anymore..

    good stuff. thank you

  • and how modern that intro was!

  • Anita attributed her vibrato-less sound to the fact that her uvula was sliced off in a botched tonsillectomy! After that she had to make "ga-ga" sounds to simulate vibrato.

  • And she did so very skillfully!

  • Nice editing and great video..

  • Gene didn't miss a beat after leaving Benny Goodman's band .... the band really rides on this one!

  • nicely done.I dig it.thanks.

  • Great example of O'Day in the pre-war months. Lots of exhuberance and energy!

  • Many thanks for your comment .

  • love her the most!

  • Luv ya babe! You rock my world....you'll never be forgotten.

  • ah thanks for loading this!good ol' anita!
