Remember when all the info was to the right of the video?

Remember you could rate a video 1-5 stars?

Remember the famous yellow subscribe button?

  • She is an Angel.

  • I have the CD (The Visit) - love this song!

  • I am a Christian, and I respect all Wiccans, their music and art. My brother is a Wiccan and my best friend. I have been known to let myself go and dance to such beautiful music when it hits me...and I don't give a damn what any one thinks. May all of you be blessed with safety, health and happiness! From a Christian to all Wiccans. *hugs*

  • @Kittycannon1007 Same here, my boyfriend is irish and i have such passion for all paganism and celtic culture and folklore, Loreena is a marvellous artist, and me and my bf love her music AND we both are christians but that doesn't stop us to enjoy ART.

  • @Kittycannon1007 I think you should be a Christian Wiccan, You would love all the ritualistic dances and songs in the Sacred circles we cast in celebratory events and rituals. I am a full Wiccan btw

    Blessed Be )O(

  • @Kittycannon1007

This is not Wiccan, this is Celtic Polythiest (Pagan is a Christian propagandist term).

Loreena is Scots-Irish, IE Celtic Gaelic.

  • @CelticAngloPress Pagan isn't a propagandist term. It comes from the latin pagus, meaning country dweller, as opposed to urbrus, city dweller. The term was used prior to the formation of Christianity, to mean 'devoted to the local ways'. Also, what should we call pagans who aren't Polytheist, but are mono-, pan- or atheist?

I'll stick to being a pagan, thanks.

  • @Dannyboy7124

Sorry but it wasn't used before Christianity my new age marxist hipster friend, it had no name, it was/is made up of local traditions and local cultures, and is technically understood as Polthyeism, "Pagan" was/is a slander that came afterwards from Christianity

And yes by all means stay a 'Pagan', no one said otherwise, all the love and support, just don't do it to be an Marxist leftist / neo con fucking retard trying to be "in" and "edgy", rather then preservation

  • @CelticAngloPress I am not 'Marxist', 'hipster' or your friend, so I would appreciate it if you didn't refer to me as such. To the point at hand, darlin' - The early modern usage of the word was absorbed by Christianity roughly 400AD. (evolving again in the 12th and 17th centuries) But the word itself, meaning adherence to the 'village' practice, is well rooted in Latin - which as around before Christianity, not that I need to remind you of that. Fucking retard'? You sicken me, you ableist pig.

  • @Kittycannon1007 j*ù7

  • I wish all the New Age, pagan, Wiccan etc. people would stop coming on here and talking about how they love their "Celtic roots." and "Celtic magic." I don't have any problem with your religion (I'm spiritual but not religious) but I agree with what's been said. "Celtic" is just a term people use to make money. Stop thinking that you have a connection to Irish history and culure just because your great grammy was from there. And stop thinking that being "Celtic" actually means anything.

  • @ladydancerx How DARE anyone of the Celtic peoples have PRIDE in their song, their Gods, their ancient lore........Stonehenge!!!

When you were a tot you called your father Da-Da. Which is Gaelic for Daghda (pronounced Dah Dah).......which means the Good God from the Tuatha De Danaan. If you are english speaking.....one of your FIRST WORDS WERE GAELIC.

So appreciate other's cultures. It is as much a part of you as any other.

  • @AstralCricket You said it!!! I'm with you 100%

    Blessed be times Three!!! )O( )O( )O( - Bréinann

  • @celticbattleaxe All my love to you.........Sister

  • Comment removed

  • Think about this everytime you talk to your "Daddy".

  • @ladydancerx WHAT??!!!

  • @ladydancerx I know what you mean in one sense, ie American people claiming they are Irish because of some grandparents roots but these days we live in a society which cuts us off from who we are and where we come from. Grandparents used to be valued as wise for the skills and knowledge they could pass on but noone farms or gathers or uses home made medicine...or cooks or raises their own children these days. Our elders are put in homes now. It is human to want to connect and belong.

  • @NadimahElizabeth and the irony is that most of the things you get from Celtic culture came from my people, the Britons and the upper lands of our brothers the Picts. also a lot of the art you see is actually Norse which were our allies. Americans need to read.

  • @NadimahElizabeth Well spoken!

  • @ladydancerx of course you assume no one actually lives in the Celtic nations and the world ends at your own borders, I have to assume you live in the 'new world' ..I think you need to travel more to find how important Celtic roots are, to the Welsh Cymraeg, the Scots, Irish, Cornish, Manx. Cyfarchion o Gymru

  • @ladydancerx i agree with some of what you said, but being Celtic does mean something to people, even though it is more commonly used just to make money

  • @ladydancerx Cultural heritage is very important to many cultures. Just because you don't value the Celtic way, that's no right to pronounce your verdict as law. To say Celtic people just state that they're Celtic to make money is a gross generalisation - SOME do, but not all, unless the whole population of Celtic Europe is a lot more prosperous than I've experienced. Your views are your own, but to impinge upon others out of sheer ignorance/misanthropy is embarassing and somewhat rude.

  • @Hypedupturtle all that comment means is just appreciate the music. You dont have to have a link to celtic roots to like it. So many people seem to have to justify that they have roots.

  • @ladydancerx

Think your talking to psuedo-new age marxists liberals actually, as for "Celtic people a term for people to make money", perhaps in America where your a third world melting pot and a cultural marxist hell hole without any identity, perhaps not grouping yourselves with the rest of the civilized and proud world would be a good start.

Then again thanks to that very zionist hellhole all the west will, and is being wiped out, cheers for that btw, (fucking degenerate christian zionists)

  • @CelticAngloPress a good example of how christians fucked up roots,tradition,....everything is greece

  • @BetelgeuseLLL If and how Christianism (and any other religion/dogma) fucks up roots and tradition is now in our own hands by either following blindly "orders" or using our brain to think. And to be honest, Christian Religion is made of people, which means that even if it wasn't Christianism it would be another religion that would "fuck up" things. People fucked them up.

  • @ladydancerx

Oh and btw their is no such thing as "Wiccans" thats just another degenerate Murrkan invention brought about by your filthy feminist infesting cultural marxists.

  • @ladydancerx well said who cares where you are from. If you like the music great! If not, no problem dont listen :P

    Peace.

  • @ladydancerx Who gives a toss? from a Rangers fan.....

  • WISH I WAS THERE

  • Everytime I listen 2 this kind of esoteric music on utube I find arguments between Christians & the others who came 4 pure enjoyment. I got curious & decided 2 look at Christian music sights & found very few arguments mainly because non-Christians rarely go there. So my question is; why is it that some Christians purposely expose themselves 2 ideas that are clearly not acceptable 2them, invariably interject their own beliefs & then argue about it? This ugly behavior is a huge problem everywhere.

  • @santoniorose: Because they believe they've been called to evangelicize and 'spread the good news'.

  • @PinkRangerVida Can i just point out that many christians are not like that.

Unfortunately all the christians who ARE like that are the ones who go and waste their time on religious debates on youtube.

  • @zinopal: I know. But every branch of Christianity requires some form of evangelicalism. The question is just whether it's active ("Hey, have you heard...") vs. by example (doing good works so others see Christianity as something to follow). It's one of the things I liked about Paganism when I converted.

  • @PinkRangerVida Same here :)

I used to be Catholic, and I never found it welcoming. I couldn't get why there was only "one god" - no Goddess? Something wrong there...

I also found it to have no spiritual development - it tool me a while to find my Path, but I found it in Celtic Shamanism.

    Blessed be times Three!! )O( )O( )O(

    - Bréinann

    -

  • @celticbattleaxe: I always saw the Goddess in the moon and land, even when I called Her Yaweh. :p But more seriously--being drawn like that is wonderful, isn't it? Not so much what we leave, but what we gain...

And blessed be times three to you as well, sister\brother! )O( )O( )O(

  • @PinkRangerVida Agreed - when I was coming into the first stages of converting (back when I was 13), I viewed Mary as the Goddess, but why so many christians "down-graded" her was beyond me.

    And yes, I'm a brother :)

    Blessed be )O( )O( )O( :)

  • @zinopal True - I have Christian friends who respect my religious views, and they don't mind seeing the pentagram around my neck. But if I tried going near some people (like the wacked out evangelicals, for instance), they'd see it and freak out and probably try to "release the hold of satan on me" with relentless Bible verses.

What sucks even more is that the Christians who don't do that and respect Pagansim are being targeted by other christians for "not following the Bible".

  • @santoniorose I agree completely. We are all for letting them believe what they want. However that doesnt gel with their teachings. If they arent poking their nose in others business they arent being a good "christian"

  • she is from Canada

  • Guys, I'm begging you, go to facebook and join the campaign to get Loreena to do the music for the Hobbit. Think of how awesome that would be!

  • Loreena is one of the most amazing singers in the world. her voice is magical.

  • Can you imagine how much better the world would be if everyone just loved one another and respected their differences? Christians, call me a heathen, I still love you.

  • i felt so much has been done wrong to me... but hearing this song, i believed there were people to help me... the lights in the distance were the armies to help me...

  • i used listen to this when i lived in turkey it was on music list at internet cafe when i was younger and its taken meso many years to find it :)

  • Loreena's music has touched my inner self for many a year. The Mummers Dance makes my eyes close and I feel in another world. Thank you ever so much MK for your work. Dan'l

  • )O( Love for the Goddess and the God!

    Love for nature's warm embrace!

Embrace the flame that burns in you!

We are pagan through and through! )O( :) This song fires me up big time! Time to dance, write, draw, sing!

  • Pagan women have even MORE fun, I assure you.

  • She's got the perfect voice and the song :) thanks for the upload!

  • who can take a loreena mckinnett song, turn it to a bizarre culture war?

people on youtube (the people on youtube can!)

  • @prettyjohnshill

Yeah, Jesus took on the establishment! Nevermind all that love thine enemy bullshit and that crap about dying for the salvation of all mankind. Whats important is that he was hardcore!....

You are one sad human being. And stop calling yourself "Celtic," that's American commercial bullshit.

  • All i have to say is she is just amazing!!! That is all!

  • Puede pasar el tiempo que sea, pero la belleza, de las melodias de Lorena, jamas sera destruido...ni tampoco los sentimientos que provocan en uno mismo!

  • What CD is this on?

I find it extremely useful with the Craft I do.

  • @ALostClassic It's on her CD called "The Visit"

  • joseph erdem dedektif

  • I went to the planetarium today, and they were playing this song. Can you just imagine how peaceful and beautiful it felt to hear this song, while watching the stars ? =)

It certainly will remain a wonderful memory =D

  • @BINGUBANG Jup, I do :))

  • PERFECT ORIENTAL SONG.

  • I love this music

  • im light, im also peace and love

  • Beautiful, with passion and love sang

    :)

  • Its not what you believe that's important, it that you believe. Faith is the nourishment for our souls, the direction in which you put your faith is entirely up to the you. I think faith is a more intimate subject then anything carnal, and, should not be discussed with anyone you wouldn't trust your soul with. Loreena's a Goddess!!!!!

  • If a christian needs to come here trying to convert people to their beliefs they must have very little faith in themselves or their god. Your christian god is no more believable than anothers god or gods and goddesses. May a pox be upon your ignorant arrogant arses!

  • I can't believe this is a religious debate ... seriously .. shut your oversized pie holes, enjoy the sound and the positive energy in this song and leave what is alone. Take the song as you will, don't point fingers at anyone for taking it differently. If you can't show that much maturity you shouldn't even have a driver's license much less a credit card .. get lost.

  • I will even throw in a fresh squishy thickseat for you ... just supply your own shortbus.

  • @prettyjohnshill it means. if you live the doctrines and values of your religion, it becomes real to you. Thats how religion works.

  • @prettyjohnshill fuck you buddy

  • Ah Loreena Mckenntitts music is just lovely....and )O( to any sisters or brothers blessed be

  • @prettyjohnshill its no more real than what you believe. Unlike you, they know the value of nature and the land. Thats the nature of our beliefs. Our beliefs become real because we make them real.

  • @prettyjohnshill

Everyone has a right to believe what they want. You don't need to be a jerk about it.

  • Clearly, pagans have more fun.

  • @RoscoesRiffs Though she doesn't necessarily write pagan music. A pastor friend of mine in Canada (UCCcan) actually knows her from when she started out as a Busker, and wrote some Christian liturgical music with her early in her career.

  • @RoscoesRiffs you got that right we do have more fun! :D

  • @SpikesScarletWitch :) :) :) :)

  • @RoscoesRiffs love the comment and yes we do

  • @ncgay1 :) :) :) :) :)

  • @RoscoesRiffs agreed :)

  • @camelotprincess :) :) :) :) :) This song is an adventure every time I hear Loreena sing it.

  • yes this is a wonderful music with amazing meaning congrats

  • This was the song that got me hooked on Loresna's music. I absolutely love the voice of this suprememely talented woman!

  • I swear...This is the first song I ever heard of Loreena Mc Kennitt, 7 years ago...Been a fan since then...Celtaztec speaks

  • I, played my (OFFICIAL) Guiness Irish tin whistle along this time....Well, I'm not ready to upload that (yet) LOL

  • i bow in frond of her hollyness

  • I love Loreena's music. To hear some other "Souling" music based on the history, go listen to Kristen Lawrence's music on youtube. She has two versions relating to Soul Cakes-- the Christian and the Pagan.

  • I love Loreena Mckennitt.

    Thank you for uploading.

    Blessed be

  • May everyone someday find themselves in the the streets singing this song together! its Triumphant! Let the brigades march to their glory! An Inspiration!

  • @JoyofPoetry5 ... how is that relevant?

  • kaybedenler kulübü

  • where is she from?

  • @sadhaka7 canada

  • I love her music, i was intro duced to her music by a friend!!

  • This is so soulful

  • My love, Can't wait to speak with you again this coming All Soul's Night. I miss you so much.

  • Чёрт, мужики, Авесоме блять, она охуенна!

  • If you are curious about what a metal cover of this song would sound like, search for "Abonos All Souls Night" on YouTube.

  • She is one of the twenty women I would elected as "The best singer ever!"

  • the pagan sounds

  • Oh, my...What a beautiful song! She's got the voice of an angel. <3

  • @YukiUzumaki78 And how does a voice of an angel sound?

  • @HistoryOfHoles ...like a sigh of ecstasy amidst the trappings of eternal happiness. So they say...

  • @arentolfinance Haha, good one.

  • @HistoryOfHoles Humans believe Angel's to be pure, beautiful creatures. Because of this, we automatically assume that their voices are equally beautiful and pure.

  • @YukiUzumaki78 Yeah, belief is a silly thing.By the way, is Angel's some kind of cafe?

  • @HistoryOfHoles Hm...Belief is a silly thing? I assume you do not believe in anything you cannot see, or in anything that can have a proven existence...Well, that is truly saddening to be honest. But as long as you are happy with your life then by all means, turn the other way. Just remember: The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence.

  • @YukiUzumaki78 Phhh...please spare me of that "absence of evidence - not evidence of absence" crap. And I did not say I don't believe in anything I cannot see.Unfortunately I do... I'm as silly as you.

  • @HistoryOfHoles Perhaps I am silly in many ways, but that is simply human nature. Humans are ignorant creatures. Arguing with one another is a waste of precious time. I'm sitting here talking to you when I could be expanding nature. However, we both have our own opinions. You can disagree with me, but I won't change my mind. I assume it is the same for you.

  • Her music so blissful! :)

  • Yay! Pagan-ness! Thanks for the vid. The music is beautiful and most appreciated.

  • I believe there is magic in the world. we ne to try to get away from all the hate, greed and blood shed. We need this magic, its what makes this world a beautiful place to live and we are destroying it

  • Γεια σου παντερμη Loreena...

  • Live a good life and you will be rewarded no matter what religion you are.

  • I love this woman's work

  • she is soooo great!!!!!

  • God wants you to question Him...He invites it ....and even to test Him.... He will show you the way... Not me... but Him, thru His Son, Jesus Christ... Only God can bring you to Him... not me or anyone else.... And He will...it's not about whether He wants you, because he does, but is is whether you want Him...He brings such Love and Joy... You can't even imagine it...You just have to experience it!!!

  • @TheVintagefox To seek "God" you must first question yourself. Look within and seek understanding of your true self. Learn control, calm and focus. Seek only to experience the universe through your senses without the chatter of your ego. Your spirit may then guide you through the divine realms to begin initiation. You may find that what you thought you understood of God was an illusion. For you who follows the path of Jesus, your journey would begin with contemplation. We are all children.

  • @CelticValdyr In the traveling days of Jesus, Ascension Masters/students of other cultures wrote volumes on their time spent with Jesus the Christ. The enlightenment He brought to them, made them love and revere Him. The church taught Christ is a shadow of the truth. It's hard to criticize the blind for what they can not see and yet some, even in their blindness, like ascending masters, seek ever on. It is vanity for even one of us to think we have arrived. We are all children.

  • @automatedgeek Yes it is vanity to think so. Truth. I make no such claim to ascension. I will not reach enlightenment in this mortal life, but the first steps I take while I draw breath. The blind expend their energy in worship and ritual, unknowing, unawakened, blissfully adrift in a sea of misunderstanding. A "Christ" is an alluring garden. Aye, love others as you would love yourself. Reverence is kind, but stay true to your spirit. Do not give too much to a shadow. Our threads are short.

  • @automatedgeek Sorry don't mean to complain, but please don't say anything else. I'm proud for what I am. I know yout proud of what you are too. I'm not his child anymore. Cause he abandoned me. I love this song with my heart an soul. So please don't talk about this. This song speaks about my kind, brothers and sisters. It upsets me hearing people talking about this stuff. Have a good day.

  • why oh why did u have to bring religion into it...(i mean i do know all about samhain) but cant u just enjoy it. this is not the place to preach, message each other if thats what u want to talk about. spirituality has nothing to do with religion!

  • God is everywhere, no matter how everyone see ,feel or believe....it's one GOD and we all should understand it ....then ,maybe this world will change for better....we all are childrens of God....and we should be thankfully for having this sparkle in us....

  • @Ariadnnae That's funny.

  • @Ariadnnae live and let live, believe what you want... lets not try and convince people of right and wrong in faith or what they should or should not follow.

    Live and let be.

  • @MelissaTicky There is wisdom in this - "live and let live", true as long as all follow your guidance. However, when one offers a viewpoint or lesson, it should cause no harm to offer one's own viewpoint on the subject. One often sees the true nature of the" teacher" based on their response to feedback. Still, I agree - one should first SEEK the "teacher" if one wishes to learn. If you do not wish to learn, then no lesson should be offered. Ariadnnae expressed kindness and should be praised.

  • I was not trying to step on her toes or contradict what she wrote, it was just my opinion in response to hers... no teacher seeking and no lesson being enforced. Just a comment is all.

Anyway, this song is great and i happen to enjoy it and it is worth listening to if i may say so.

  • @MelissaTicky I second that.

  • @MelissaTicky i agree We are all souls on our journey and finding our own truth in life, live from your heart and see the love and light in every soul

  • @MelissaTicky Let's not try and convince of right and wrong in faith? It seems your thinking is at odds with the great anthropologist Margaret Meade who said, "Any faith not worth sharing is not worth having." Based on that I guess we know what kind you have

  • @henryahartley lighten up dude.

  • @Ariadnnae

Those are bold claims there hun, I dont follow the Abrahamic God and many other dont. I'd keep faith preaching off the internet to avoid some serious flaming.

    Blessed Be )0(

  • Religious people say it's an eternal sin to wonder or ask if there is a God or to doubt the oneness of God and ask about it....

But it makes me feel more aggressive towards religion and doesn't help me with my curiousty to doubt. Yes I both believe and doubt. But one thing I'm sure of is I don't wanna live my life in fear... And sure as hell don't wanna be one of those religious freaks...

  • Yet again, I'm a suspicious bastard and I still wonder and ask questions and even doubt!

May be it's a sin and may be not, but I think curiousity is necessary, at least it feels so deep and beautifully myterious and making you wonder furhter to deeper depts...

And STILL yet I fall for things that are unknown or uncertain or unclear... I don't wanna think about no sin or the opposite anymore, I just wanna keep searching...

  • Comment removed

  • To be honest ones veiws on religion shouldn't matter music inspires us all and invokes emotions regardless of ones veiws on god or gods or goddesses it's a primal invocation of our ancestral cultures which is why music can reach across genres and national boundries so why worry about trying to contain it or put huge thought into it just sit down shut up and listen to the music. Its better for everyone that way.
