This looks sweet but I can't see any agency really utilizing this as a cruiser. It's a two door coupe. There's no partitioned backseat with separate doors for arrested suspects/felons. But I'd love to use one of these as a first responder vehicle since I'm an EMT.

You can have Texas plates on a Police Vehicle, it just means its not marked. To have exempt plates it has to be marked somehow... Lay off the guy. It's an awesome Camaro

there is some crazy police cars these days. street racing is an "issue" around where I live so the police are starting to use impounded imports. I just saw a turbo acura rsx with police lights chasing a cobalt ss a few weeks ago! talk about entertainment! xD they also have the classic chargers, crown vics, and mustangs too. I also just heard that they have 450 dirtbikes so now I have to look out for those while riding! X(

I think i noticed Texas plates with means this is more than likely not a police vehicle, seeing as how lights like that are allowed on civilian vehicles and from what i understand all police vehicles must be marked as such.

@ejgudzinas What you understand is wrong. It is a police vehicle. As I've mentioned several times in this video I know the officer personally. The precinct he works for gives him a car allowance. If he wants to drive a vehicle like the Camaro he pays for the difference out of his own pocket. It isn't a civilian vehicle or a show vehicle. It is a POLICE vehicle.

Being an LEO from Texas, I am familiar with our states registration laws and the use of red and blue lights in combination on a non LEO marked vehicle. This vehicle has civilian plates on it, meaning it is not registered to a local, state or municipal law enforcement entity. Like you stated, it could be in use by an LEO entity and registered elsewhere.

That is not a department issued car, nor is it a DPS. If you noticed it has civilian Texas License Plates on it. Department issued cars as well as all state issued vehicles have Exempt license plates on them.

It could be a constables vehicle or probably an officer who works a lot side jobs that require lights.

@charger388 Not always true, in WA state police vehicles, especially the units meant to target dangerous driving, have no exempt nor say WSP at the end. Same goes for the DEA, alot of their vehicles have civillian plates but under their profile for the DOL it says it is a federal vehicle.

Not much more than the Crown Vic, and a Better car all around! Plus I'm sure they got HUGe discounts being police force and all, so your tax dollars didn't really go to anything different!
