  • First generation "electro-funk" masterpiece! Touched on the full spectrum of what was to be of that decade. Bravo Mr

    Wright.

  • Killin. This cat still rocks in and around Dallas, TX.

  • @philosophersphone YEP! and wow, I neva heard this stuff! He shoulda been as big as Prince!

  • @WatusiReggae Believe me, everybody in the music world (circa 1980s) knows who he is!

  • Damn!! All of a sudden I just wanna break dance!!

  • The dominating force

    The dominating force

    it's the funky funky beat

    the funky funky beat

    you can't get

    no where

    without

    the funky beat!!!

  • LISTEN YOU YOUNG....WHIPPER--SNAPPERS

  • I like the part where its Funky

  • Nard plays in Dallas every Monday night a the Pussy Cat Lounge on Lower Greenville...if you ever get a chance to see him live, it's amazing!

  • @ajhfohu - It really is amazing, there is no other word... he is such a gracious musician, he brings all the local cats together. see you monday...

  • I just discovered this....This is tight!!!!

  • BW put alot of musician back then to shame too.

  • like it!! funky!!!

  • even a 20 year old guy couldn't do this beat in 2010,this is pure classic.

  • @howardtheman that's so true! lol

  • you can't get nowhere this funky funky beat / nowadays

Best ever from france, still in my head. remember me great good times.

  • Funky fresh!!

  • electric g funk homes

  • vice city song!

  • Roland VP-330 Vocoder Plus (Mk1 or Mk2?)!!!

  • Jamaica, Queens sound. 80s funk...Bernard Wright, Lenny White, Tom Browne.

  • Smoothiest song from back in da day...what ever happend to him?

  • he is now teaching piano is colleges and gigging in the states.

  • I remember this song very funky groove, unique for that time, I remember that it caught my attention the first time that it was played on the radio.

  • This song casts a spell.

  • this sound like the santa claus rap from beatstreet

  • Very talented better than 95% of the musicians today. This song was produced when he was twenty. He puts most of these musicians nowadays to shame.

  • @Spidapalooza

ummm, if ur referring to jay-z or p diddles as musicians, i have to disagree with you. but your point is well-received. now go have the COURAGE to vote third party and "throw your vote away." or watch the whole planet get jewwed up and the independent spirit of man go into the toilet. we've already lost independent music, movies and tv and newspapers and magazines. those "good" things will continue to get marginalized by jewbag bankers and media and the global plutocrats...

  • @Spidapalooza He was a special talent. Good example of the best musicians not getting the aclaim some others with less talent get, which is the norm. This tune lives up to the title.

  • @Spidapalooza 100% not 95

  • @Spidapalooza say what? he is better then all of them all put together, remember that he did it before some of them so called musician these day were never even born, some had nappies some were just playing around.

  • @Spidapalooza i have to agree with you, even though i produce today :). Producers like me who make French House, use samples from music from the 80's to make our own, i find it amazing how deep the composition of this music is

  • Does anybody know the where abouts of Bernard?

  • he lives in Dallas, Texas I Heard....

  • Thanks for the info...

  • The dominating voice!

  • Can't get nowhere without it.....funk is it's own reward.

  • Damn, I had forgot all about this joint.

  • all around ill!

  • Phresh!!!*****

  • Man,this is music not some rap crap where you hear about bitches, hoes, drugs and sex.Good rappin from back in da days. Thanks man.

  • lol cheers for the laugh..

  • .04 voice

  • sometimes nard is just great other times he's not. This is sort of one of those times

  • My brother traded some tape for this one, and it became a staple to pop lock on the cardboard. LOL Miss those days of being 8 years old again!

  • yo jus making sure i wuz jus replying back to this otha guy fleischpudding.....i did not say he wuz german even once....im black why would i say sumthin so stupid....i wonder who gave me that damn thumbs dwn...lol

  • i got my facts straight bitch, he is from bavaria and enjoys good wiener schnitzel

  • Damn, I wish I can transport myself to the 70s and 80s sometimes, to be old enough to go to the nightclubs and dance! I can't stand the dribble they play at the clubs nowadays...you need alcohol to get through the night, which is sad, considering I don't drink.

I'm an old lady before my time...

  • agreed!! i feel you!!

  • @tnj2323 - if you live in dallas, you can see him several nights a week! i see him every monday...

  • @fleischpudding ???????

  • Cardboard,lol!!!!

  • where my cardboard, i need to breakdance! :)

  • thanks for posting this ,haven't heard this in years, it was ,and still is, THE JAM.......BW didn't get enough credit for his music.....

  • DMX drums in efffeeeccttt

  • I remember bernard wright but his music played that much and that's the reason for his short lived career in music. He had more than this but as i said b4 music wasn't played that much He had some nice beats

  • I liked this, but it always seemed (and still seems) like something is missing. I keep hearing some keyboard/synth part that keeps the groove going, because there are a lot of holes in the bassline. David Franks (keyboard player in The System) did that on The System's tunes, and it really made a big difference.

  • i love the bass damn typical 80s bass so SEXYYYYYY

  • Once again, I was only ten in 1983. I remember this song well as a matter of fact, but it was not played to often. It was C rated song for me back then. I clicked to this by accident. Thank you for sharing, it's nice to hear those rare grooves once in a great while.

  • This song is the bomb. I miss the distinctive sounds of the 80s.

  • Yeah. This sounds like it should have been a jam of the 80's for real.

  • Who produced it? I remember a Tom Brown album sounding roughly the same...

  • they're all friends

browne / wright / blackman + some others

they've all worked together on their albums

  • This jam rules! I downloaded this awhile ago, and it's sooo kick-ass! You rule for having posted this!

  • I GOT THIS RECORD

  • I love a bit of Vocoder action, me! Bernard Wright is just the bomb! This is just one top post! cheers dude! :-)

  • Thanks for listening dude!

  • tuff jam. lost generation were breakdancing with this groove back in '83! Thanks for posting!

  • lost generation lol agreed me inc, I liked the cover of this vinil but beats weren't fast enough for my bboy crew.
