It sucks Sonic CD isn't in any of the reissued Sega Collection games.

it's far from being the same thing as Sonic 1, it introduced so many cool features, most of which were never used in another Sonic game and also featured (in my opinion) the BY FAR best special stages. Argh, I feel a warm feeling every time I think of Sonic CD, and it saddens me that there will never again be a Sonic game that will give me the same feeling.

My only complaint with this game is that it is short.  The Time Trial helps out but eventually you hit a point where you can beat it in about 20 minutes without really struggling.

Gameplay wise it is the best...overall...I dunno. 2 and 3 (with Knuckles of course) both give it a run.

If you have not found out yet I am pretty sure that the Japanese Sonic Gem version has the US Version intead so they screwed that up to when they were supposed to have the Japanese version of Sonic CD in the Japanese Sonic Gem collection not sure though.

Understood, they sometimes release games in one country before another and than add stuff to the remaining countries game, which is unfair. For example, Sonic The Hedgehog was released in America first and then full developed in Japan with more stuff like clouds movig, this was unavailable in the American version because it was rushed out first.
