  • Hey what time of microphone do you record with?

  • Jeeze!! I need tabs for 7:40 onwards!!! I'm wearing out the replay button. Killing it man!

  • fuck the amp and guitar just let me play like you and ill be happy!!!

  • I've yet to hear a bad clip of Sommatone...What a deep sound!

  • Could someone post the equipment specs for recording rig used in this Fat Sound videos (specifically the mic on the amp)? Curious because the sound of them is some of the best sound quality I've heard outside of Pro Guitar Shop.

  • I recently bought an Overdrive 35 - I dumped my JVM and Mark V for this one channel sonic machine. There is nothing out there like it. You can go from room volume clean or scream to gig-level creamy overdrive (with really good headroom). It works incredibly well with pedals and is incomparable in terms of clarity and sustain...Truly mind-blowing craftsmanship. I have about 30 guitars and I realize how much more important the amp is than the guitar in the equation. Sommatone made that clear.

  • Awesome demo!! You´re a great player :D What string gauge are you using! Thanks.

    Peace and blessings.

  • @bmpfranco21 Are you using this same amplifier? The amplifier's EQ settings for each clip are shown. No EQ was used in post production.

  • @bmpfranco21 Greg V uses the stock Fender Nocaster set in this guitar. Thanks!

  • Hello,

It looks like the amp is miked. Is there another amp or speaker setup connected to the mic, or is the mic plugged into a second channel on the amp (looped)?

    Thanks-

  • @SkylineToTheSeaAndMe The amp is simply mic'd with a Sure microphone which runs to the mic' preamp. Basic recording techniques. Thanks.

  • awesome amp, i wonder how the overdrive 75 compares to this 35?

  • Greg, so far what has been your favorite amp to play with in these video's. I love Top Hat "Super Fat" 1x12, The Macthless Avalon 30, and this oone

  • Hi Greg! Great video and gear! Help me choose between the Crema Wheat and the Sommatone Overdrive. Which amp blows you away the most? You have already influenced me in purchasing a Swart and I want something that could impress me just as much! Swart has a nice, complex and organic overdrive!

  • What colour is your Hamer Talladega guitar?

  • Sommatone= best amps ever!! love my roaring 40!!

  • I was in Cary NC for the holidays and I almost made it out to your shop, but there was too much snow! Had to go back home to the west coast. Really wanted to see guitar paradise! Maybe next time.

  • more vids please...

  • Always so great to hear you Greg V!

  • Love to hear a demo of the Roaring 40 also being an EL84 guy!

  • Sounds great, but when the guy starts talking about electrolytic capacitors and whatnot, I feel like I'm listening to Doc from Back To The Future!

  • I love these amps and have played them, but your playing on them just gives me chills, awesome. You make a great amp sound incredible. Your demos are the best. Great job.

  • Great playing and tone, blown away! :) What volume where you running the amp at around 5:40 into the video? Best regards from Sweden

  • @JonasSweden1 The Master Volume at that point in the video is set to about noon which would mean relatively loud around the house playing or small club volume. You can, however, achieve very similar tones at much lower volumes due to the fantastic Master Volume control on this amp. Thanks for watching and commenting!

  • how much?

  • @etguitar18 Hi. The 1x12 combo with both reverb and mid boost options is $2900.00. The head with the same options is $2700.00.

YouTube won't allow postings of links to external websites in the comments section, but check out our site at FatSoundGuitars. This amp is on the homepage with a click link for full listing with our review and an extensive photo journal.

Let me know if i can help further. Thanks!

Stu Carter, owner, Fat Sound Guitars

  • @FatSoundGuitar thanks im gonna go check out ur website right now ;)

  • main reason i get on youtube it to see if you made another video. Great demo. Does Greg V have a go to amp? one that if lost or stolen, or demolished would take the day off and have to have again???

  • @Smoothtlknwhtboi That's kind of you to say! Thanks for the comment. You'd need to ask Greg this question, but I know he has a few amps, but has been pretty enamored with his Swart Atomic Space Tone for several years.

  • Jimmy Somma has got it going on with his aural vision of what an amp should deliver and as always Mr. Greg V. uses his palette of musical colours to let

these throughbred amps shine! Thanks... tMwtF

  • @toomanywaystofall Jimmy is one of the best amp designers alive today......not a cloner or copier, but a true designer. Greg really made this amp shine and did a wonderful job of showcasing its abilities.

    Thanks!

  • Beautiful stuff you got there.

  • man, you make me want a nocaster bad! i miss the sg though

  • @marvelboy04 ;-) One of the first things I thought was.....where's the SG?". The Hamer Talladega is a killer guitar though. Thanks for the comment!

  • wow, incredible demo with a great range of tones from clean to mean! this amp seems to have really inspired you even more than usual! I definitely want one of these amps!!!!!! thanks for another awesome amp demo!! GREAT playing!!!

  • @paradachsproductions So my playing wasn't enough eh Eric?!?! LOL......

I get it though.....Greg is a magician and has such a definitive and wonderful style!

  • @FatSoundGuitar not at all, Stu! you both bring out awesome tones from this amp!!! Your clip shows off really well the fluid reedy overdrive at absolutely low, real conversational levels. best master volume I have ever heard by far...every bit as effective as power scaling if not better! I can't wait to get one of these amps!!!!

  • Wow Greg

I must say this is my favorite amp so far....

    Awesome drive on a 6L6 amp I wasn't expecting

something about that glass on top without being brittle... love it!

    thanks for the great demo

    C

  • Stu and Greg, geat demo.

  • @rockabilly12 Thanks! We both appreciate the comment!! Glad you enjoyed the demo!

  • Whoa... that is some serious ampage going on right there.

  • This is the best amp demo I've ever seen on the Tube! Excellent playing and tone from Greg V. Wonderful sounding amp!

  • @Noitpure Thanks for the comment and kind words. Glad you enjoyed the vid!

  • @Noitpure

Trina, I agree. Something about this amp really sings! Greg is great too!

  • @roknfnrol Well, you know my wheelings are turning! LOL : )

  • @roknfnrol It's truly one of the most amazing amps I have played. Other qualities aside, the master volume as demonstrated in this video is ground breaking.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • Man, love the way you play that axe.
