LOL, I know you said you hate spiders, so there is a chance to get your revenge. The one in the pit that you avoided on the left path may not be killable, but I vaguely recall being able to dunk him in the drink.

There is a certain "zone of proximity" where you can get him to follow you to exact points. By carefully moving left and right, you can get him to not only follow you to the bridge maze, but to also fall into the water.

They should do a proper "Alone in the dark" movie, set in an old creepy house like this. If one could capture the eerie atmosphere from this original game, then you got one damn scary movie.

I know right? Fuck Uwe Bolle, that stupid German retard made a horrible and boring movie by NOT STICKING TO THE PLOT. Basically he got a bad script and used the game's name. Bullshit.

the purple spider from the left path is the actual creature from Call of Cthulhu bestiary, I presume. As if the game designers used the bestiary rather than original Lovecraft stories or own imagination :D.

Resident evil had gotten influences from Alone in the Dark.

It mainly got it's influences by an old game called Sweet Home. Kinda like RE1 with zombies and a mansion but without the double-crossing team leader, horrible voice acting yet laughably hilarious, and a virus.

Damn i got stuck in here.... i used the pirate key that i got in the pirate but it doesn't work on the damn chest or i got the wrong key?....I got stucked on the dark maze... In my opinion this game is creepier than the re games coz when you imagine yourself in here... having so much unpredictable monsters and what can they do not like re but i still like re more than the new nightmare even though it is all biological horror.... In my opinion phantasmic horror is creepier...

I never saw the Alone in the Dark movie, but I read a plot summary. It contradicts the game on many points, but there's some references to the games

-Kidnapping of a child and strange disappearances (AITD2)

-Creatures that fears light and human experiments (AITD4)

-The ending is very similar to the ending of the first game

But I have no intention of seeing it. Maybe someday, but not in the near future.

It's really great so far. I'm at the beginning of the second disk. Even though many people "Slam" AITD 4 for being tedious and a major paine, (Because they say you have to back track a lot) but i never did. Even if i did, it was still fun. There are a lot of surprises, just like in Resident Evil. Overall, it's a game i'd like to have for my own.
