That is great!I have a Bell and Howell vacuum tube reel to reel and it sounds so warm and rich . I would like to do some recording on it.

That is a pinch roller that is gooey. It's about $40 from Tascam. I had to replace the one on my TSR-8 not too long ago. The rubber just breaks down after a while.

Also, either the tape reels are slightly bent/warped, or the reel table on the deck itself needs a slight adjustment. I just hear the tape rubbing the reel flanges when it was fast forwarding.

Both are minor problems. DO NOT PLAY ANY TAPES UNTIL THE PINCH ROLLER HAS BEEN REPLACED THOUGH! You will ruin tapes if you try to.

One of the heads need to be replaced because the rubber has melted. The play button has a spring that I believe has fallen back into the machine so that needs to be fixed. Everything else works like a charm.
