Digitech Jamman is the way to go. Better than Boss by a long shot. I use it in my music.

So I hope someone who knows a little bit about loop stations sees this, cos I was wondering if any brand other than Boss makes loop stations, cos they're the only ones who seem to be selling them online :S ... I just wanted something really cheap to just play around with :P

The Digitech Jamman is another, but it costs as much as a the Boss RC-20XL and although you can record more loops and for longer periods of time it really isn't necessary to do so and the sound quality isn't as good.

Boss also makes an RC-2 which is about $179 but is more of a pain to use and doesn't store as many loop phrases

I'd stick with the RC-20 if I were you, and trust me man! The money's worth it!!!!

If you don't have a delay, I'd reccomend something like the EHX Memory Man with Hazarai, I have one and its awesome for loops and delays. I just consider it something thats good at both in one pedal. If you just want a cheap looper, then the boss ones are great, and they're solid as a rock so don't worry about reliability.

I saw this guy at the UK final when he won, he did Gangstas Paradise with all the vocal harmonies, bass lines, was a cool thing, as well as originals.
