  • @MXZ600sdipro A drop of lock tite wouldn't hurt if your worried.

  • if you take off the secondary clutch on that sled, what do you torque it back down too? it looks like you have a lot of polaris's and I want to get at that jack-shaft grease fitting behind the secondary clutch and probably clean it up while i'm at it if you know I'd like to know what to torque it back down to spec thanks

  • @MXZ600sdipro As there probably is a torque spec on this - I have to be honest, I don't feel its a critical one. When I remove a secondary I just put that bolt in good and tight.

  • Check exhaust donut gasket(s).

  • powermad

  • What oil caddy is that on the sled?

  • For the clutches? yes.

  • will scotch brite work?

  • i just got a 89 eltigre and there is this one thing by the ski it kinda well it might be a ball ring (i think it is) well its bent and the other side isnt so should i replace it? how do u know when u have enough grease in the fittings and when u have to do it? and how do u know or check that a stud wont fly into the heat exchanger?

  • @hein127 Sounds like what your describing is your steering arm is bent, ball thing sounds like the sleds "tie rod" basically. Greasing the grease nipples once a year is usually fine, and just pump it in until clean stuff start oozing out so you know the old grease is gone. The studs, just try to avoid pavement or concrete and if you notice alot of wear or tear outs, probably time to change the track.
