The music is NOW. Mr. Diknu is an overwhelming example. In jazzculture in general, there would not be no Monk without Tatum or Jellyroll, Parker without Hawkins, Coltrane without Hodges...

Stochelo never copied Django 100%. The only song he did so on was the I'll see you in my dreams and the improv songs. Diknu is great enough to play it all his own way with new licks and styles just like his For Sephora vid...that was "Diknu" This is a copy of Stochelo completely...Diknu is easily one of the best young guitar players on earth!, however lord is correct in saying he might be being pushed in the wrong direction.

stochelo did copy django 100%. I have heard bootleg recordings from him way before ''Seresta'' It was completly Django, Later he developped his own sound.

dude, give the boy some time man. Stochelo copied django in his youth. Diknu copies stochelo in is youth (wich is now!). He is 17 man !! by the age of 21 - 22 he is a fucking monster doing his own style and thing. And if he doens' do that. he's still kicks ass. Have you heard his song Rubina?? it's beautifull

well dont get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Diknu and I regard him as one of the very best guitar players on youtube (whom isnt a famous name yet) But i fear him becomming a copy of Stochelo. If it's one thing I have learned about prodigy players like Diknu, its that they need to improv early on. And yes, I have his cd and i love it.
