  • You had NO idea what you had. That jeep was a collector's item. You definately should of looked into your local jeep clubs before you did that. That jeep is worth well over $8K, plus it had a hard top, plus a winch. You should of known what you had man. I've been looking for that exact year make and model in the blue islander edition for almost 10 years. They don't come up for sale very often. Plus, you sold it to a stealership. the worst possible thing you could of done.

  • Why all of the Hostillity; you were lucky to have owned a nice vehicle; I don't even have that...

  • YOU ARE SO FUCKING STUPID!!! Why in the HELL would you go get a Japanese PIECE OF SHIT NISSAN over a jeep? Do you know how many people would love to have one of those? Did you even try to sell it? I can guarantee you that you could have made more than $4500 for it if you tried, book value doesn't mean everything. You are just like every other brainwashed liberal... it makes me sick!

  • I hope you go to hell for what you did asshole.

  • i rely wanna steal them just to save them THATS SUUUCH A WASTE

  • Dumb..

  • It dont even have a radio how cheap my Grandmas versa is alot nicer than yours

  • sorry, but you are very stupid like hundred more!!!!

  • i think anyone who did this C4C bullshit is a fucking idiot... fuck osama. i mean obama.

  • Judge Judy would say "Now how could I just know ahead of time that both these people would be on disability?" America today is Disability Nation--full of incapacity and incapability. It's hard to believe what a productive, thriving, prosperous nation this was 50 years ago when I was in high school and had my first job--look at it now!

  • What an idiot. Reminds me of someone near here that traded a clean 93 Bronco for C4C program. It's enough to make a grown man cry.

  • FDR's Treasury Secretary, Henry Morgenthau, wrote in his diary: We've tried spending. We're spending more than we have ever spent before and it doesn't work. We have never made good on our promises. After eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started and an enormous debt to boot!

Learn this: Obama simply hates the private sector. He thinks youre just greedy. Hes tearing this nation down. Hes a fascist.

  • Both decent and greedy Democrats support C4C. The decent are ignorant of the Broken Window Fallacy:

    watch?v=UPmo2e-bAMQ

Greedy ones are the direct beneficiaries of this government handout: Car buyers who didn't want to work for that extra $4500 & lazy union thugs and greedy parts guys who want tax dollars to subsidize their business.

  • You're one dumb son-of-a-bitch...hahahahahhahahahah

  • Don't worry, this YJ won't be scrapped, instead the trashed drivetrain will be replaced by a SB Chevy.

BTW,you coulda gotten more than $4500 for that YJ

  • The dealer retail from Kelly blue book was $2500 and this car was a low book at best, $891. Sad that the facts get in the way of your nonsense.

  • Maybe it's nonsense on the west coast, but I can get $5000 all day, without even trying. A hardtoper to boot. What did that Jeep have for an engine,if I may ask?

  • A worn out smoke belching 6. Perhaps the east coasters are that stupid that they would pay twice book for a worn out pos to part out.

  • you seriously traded in one of the greatest vehicles ever made for a Japanese POS... that winch, the tires, drive train, hard top... you chould have gotten a lot of money for the Jeep... People like you piss me off... That car you got is a POS.

  • Like every other So called American car I have ever owned it fell apart. The POS was actually made in Canada like much of Chrysler's trash.

  • Dude Dude Dude Dude, I seriously hope you didn't actually get rid of the Wrangler... What a fucking waste...

  • LOL, don't any of the stupid shits understand that this is a different version of the mortgage-lending fiasco? You're buying more than you can afford. Guess where that's going to lead? FAILURE!!! Oh, and dependency on more hand-outs. You're all a bunch of dummies.

  • Hes like someone I know.... Hmm who could it be?

  • If you have some facts lets hear them.

  • LOL...a Nissan Versa what a POS. The Jeep has a lot more character than that box.

  • the Versa has more backseat legroom than the backseat of the jeep.

  • Your objection is nonsensical. the clunker will end up in the junk heap to be recycled at some point. Keeping the inefficient vehicle on the road will not alter that fact. It will only burn more oil and produce more polution.

  • My old car runs cleaner than a new car.. Dyno proven.. Dont BS anyone here.. All the Model Ts in the junkyard? A car can/ will last forever.. Its a machine

  • yes 99.99% of all model t's built have long since been junked. Are you really that ignorant.

  • Dats ignorunt

  • How stupid are you people? If the car wasn't shot it would would be worth more than $4500. You all seem to be ignorant of recycling as well for environmentalists.

  • It would seem you are poorly informed. $10 billion of the recovery act of 09 was for transit projects.

  • radmul: I am informed, and my city didn't receive a suffcient amount of that money. If we did, then many of our vital bus routes that poor working people, elderly, disabled, and off-campus students rely on wouldn't have been terminated due to lack of funding. The light-rail train doesn't come as often, and people now have to be packed on the train cars like Jews being sent to death camps.

Meanwhile, people like you are disposing of WORKING cars as if they are trash.

  • As the credit is only $4500 maximum cars new enough to have passanger and side airbags are not participting. Recycled steel saves energy over new and produces less co2 emmisions. Again the program is economic stimulus so people going more places spending money is the point. To atribute an increase in gas last month to this program is I am sorry beyond stupid. the program rules were not released until the 24th of the month.

  • radmul: You should click around YouTube to see what kind of nice cars people are trading in as clunkers. Side airbags are something new, but driver & passenger airbags and ABS have been around for several years, and people are unfortunately trading those in.

Chrysler was doing a "matching" $4,500 program on select models (you get a TOTAL of $9,000 credit). That means that someone with a used car worth $8,900 would do the CFC instead of selling the used car on the open market. That make sense?

  • only if they were idiots. if you have a car worth $8,900 you would trade that in and then take the Chrysler $4500. Try actualy reading the law.

  • radmul: It was a "matching" Cash for Clunkers program that Chrysler was doing. It wasn't $4,500 rebate that they were giving to everyone. Chrysler immediately discontinued their "matching" program for OBVIOUS reasons, so I'm not going to argue with you about how senseless it was.

  • No that deal was available to anyone. you did not even need a trade.

  • radmul: I "may" be wrong about the details of the Chrysler special offer that was discontinued. I'm not going to argue with you about it since it was already discontinued, and it is in the past. I shouldn't have brought it up. Let's stick to the subject of Cash for Clunkers.

  • radmul: Please take a look at this short YouTube video titled, "Volvo Cash for Clunkers Engine Disabling," at this link:

    /watch?v=waj2KrKYTZo

That video has almost 250,000 views, and it exposes what happens to the so-called "clunker" when it's traded in.

If the government wants to help the economy and environment, then it should have spent a tiny portion of that $3 billion on PUBLIC transportation. Like I said, some vital bus routes were cut in my big U.S. city due to lack of funding.

  • Stimulus from government is by design targeted and temporary. I agree we should be building more public transport. That does not negate the environmental and safety benefits of this program.

  • radmul: When you compare an older small car to a new small car, then yes there are "safety benefits".

When you compare an older SUV, van, mini van, or truck to a new small car, the new small car has LESS safety benefits.

The program isn't about "safety". There are clunkers with airbags and anti-lock brakes that are being destroyed, but someone with a car with 19 mpg, no airbags, and no anti-lock brakes does not get to particpate in Cash for Clunkers.

  • radmul: There aren't any environmental benefits considering that people who get new cars will cruise around in their new cars more just for fun, and they go to more places. There has been an INCREASE in gasoline sales in the last month.

You also need to consider that there's tremendous waste involved in both manufacturing new cars and destroying the clunkers that weren't ready to be destroyed. There's also a lot of fuel used in transporting the clunkers and new cars to their destinations.

  • Cash for Clunkers has long-term consequences. It's similar to the "Broken Window Fallacy".

Poor working people and students would LOVE that light blue Jeep in this video, but now it's being destroyed. Now there are less cheap used vehicles going to used car lots, and the prices of the remaining vehicles are going slightly up.

radmul, this program is NOT working for the "average American" because the average American doesn't have a "clunker" to trade in.

  • They might want it until they had to pay to drive it. 15 mpg at $3.00 a gallon along with burning oil and worn out parts. The cars going to the shredder are shot. These worn out vehicles pollute and waste resources and need to go. Sounds like a bit of sour grapes on your part.

  • radmul: If that Jeep was shot, then it shouldn't have been eligible under the Cash for Clunkers program. Only good running cars are eligible. For example, you can't tow your clunker in.

Why should the other 307 million Americans pay $4,500 for your new car?

  • it was still driveable, the actual requirement of the law. Why do 307 million taxpayers pay billions in subsidies to farmers or oil companies? Why do I subsidize rich people buying houses and yachts?

  • radmul: Have you ever heard the saying "Two wrongs don't make a right"? Just because taxpayer dollars wrongfully went to farmers or oil companies doesn't mean that it's right for taxpayer dollars to go to Cash for Clunkers.

Do the right thing by speaking out against all subsidies and bailouts.

  • This is a stimulus program designed to promote economic activity. The subsidies for housing and farmers are permanent. They are the wrong The stimulus is the right.

  • radmul: Cash for Clunkers is not going to promote future economic activity. When Cash for Clunkers ends, potential car buyers are just going to wait around for the next "government gimmick" before buying a new car.

Poor working people and students are going to suffer because the used car supply is rapidly going down. There's no public transportation in the suburbs. I live in a huge U.S. city, and vital bus routes were cut due to lack of funding, and the light-rail train doesn't come as often.
