  • sucks if your alone.

  • i remember that warning.. i was in kenosha and alone..

  • is this a radioshack desktop?

  • @clipdan yup

  • I can't wait to move to OK, tornadoes happen there more often than Aaron Rodgers throws a TD pass, which is every game multiple times. I love tornadoes so much, watching videos of tornado warnings and anything else with tornadoes just depresses me because I wish it was happening right at that current time. Damn, people in OK are lucky.

  • @TheJackOfAllTradez1 Yes, Then You Get Your Ass Hit By A Flying Car. (p.s i live in OK, its like hell.)

  • @luigitheracoon12 I would never get my ass hit by a flying car. I keep a little bit of a distance and drive. If I'm going 70 mph, it really doesn't matter, chances of something hitting me is a slim as a Slim Jim itself. C'mon now, the more the merrier!

  • @luigitheracoon12 why is OK like hell? we are planning on moving there next year..

  • @minkyblack Tornados. i moved to georgia

  • @luigitheracoon12 tornados and severe weather are the main reason we are moving there! georgia has them too, only they come mostly at night dont they? how is the weather there?

  • turn off the camera, and get your butt in safety!!!

  • The lag time of dopler is about 6 minutes. When the warning goes up you may have seconds to act.

  • there was someone i used to live with a long time ago and he was afraid of the EAS weather warnings and one showed up late at night(tornado warning) so i turned it up REALLY LOUD and he pissed himself XD :P lol

  • ASSHOLE! They have Scared Straight on A&E. Got a new idea to scare kids straight. Tited: Play an EAS Weather Alert.

  • thats a clock

  • this noise wakes me up everytime, but i guess thats the idea lol :)

  • I hate the alert tone that goes off at night when i'm alone....scares the living crap outta me and im shaking o.o

  • @zutara4ever14 haha i scare my lil brother to sleep with this

  • @zutara4ever14 I can imagine it lol

  • Yeah, when that thing goes off at like 3 am it will literally scare the ever loving shit out of you.....trust me....I know!

  • I have a question when they do those siren test in tornado citys do they warn or tell u when there testing it?

  • get to shelter!

  • I didn't know Tornado warnings can be translated into clocks.

  • @CRM09ify thats a emergency radio

  • ya i just had a tornado warning on mah weather radio

Quote: Weather conditions at 2PM Lake winnipeg south basin buoy temp...........ERR ERR ERR........Environment canada has issued a severe weather bulliten for regions in the broadcast area.....Stay tuned for further information

  • Eeeek creepy!

  • Why do they use such a creepy voice???

  • tornado warnings scare me

  • @ Mjallen1308

Same! It makes my hair on my neck stand dudee

  • i was on the shitter when it was a tornado warning last week. good thing i was almost done.

  • @commandox2000 hhahahahahhaha thats wat happened to my brother cuz he was in the bathrooom and i was outside the restroom holding the raidio and when the warning was done my brother was like HOLY @!!!#$% and then he said nah let me finish first...

  • OMG AN ACCUAL TORNADO WARNING HOLY SHIT!#$% $ AOSDFHA. i get billions of tornado warnings

  • Who makes that weather alarm, It looks like a good one

  • I had about 20 of these warnings over 2 days in the past several days. I left and went to a shelter and it saved my ass. The whole area is now destroyed -- 300 dead.

  • @b1naryd1g1t5 where do you live? i feel sorry for you be strong man!

  • UGH I HATE THAT VOICE. ESPECIALLY WHEN I'M BY MYSELF.

  • @mjallen1308 for real though

  • @mjallen1308 ikr

  • @TheAdminstrator9905 so glad I'm no longer in tornado alley lolololol

  • I always wondered if Stephen Hawking might have a part time job.....aside from solving the universal theorem and all...

  • @mjallen1308 yeah what really creeps me out is when my boyfriend is at work, and im alone in the house with no lights on and the tv muted because i am taking a nap, and then this thing goes off in total silence, the voice echoes in your head for an hour, and then after that even the noise the refrigerator makes sounds like the 1050 hz tone! LOL

  • @mjallen1308 and if it was at night

  • @mjallen1308 IKR

  • @mjallen1308 wow really ? that's what my sis does instead of covering her ears she barks like a dog and yells at it to shut up it's pretty stupid of her to do that and one time she was wiht her younger cousin and sisters they were alone and there was a thunderstorm comming so my cuz and her wigged out and i never heard it when i was alone i was with my family my sis gets scared and goes to hte basement to hide

  • @mjallen1308 Trust me...you get used to it

  • @mjallen1308 HOLLY CRAP i hate that i get so scared and get gose bumps i hate it thn i run to my bsement

  • id slam that against the wall

  • its like it goes off in the morning and its like SHUTUUUUUUPPPPPP!!!!!

  • This voice is creeeeepppyy i was driving by myself in the middle of nowhere in texas, at night and this came on, it was a little freaky, and to top things off i was near a really small town, and the tornado was heading towards it so i hi tailed it to a dithch because thats what it said to do, this is true! I watched texas chain saw movie the night before so i was a little freaked out to be in this situation but in the end i got out ok and everything was cool

  • @LannyCalifornia LOL thats cool

  • @LannyCalifornia exactly, that is the voice of death for me :( lol

  • @LannyCalifornia Omg I would've been so scared! D:

  • @LannyCalifornia that would have made me crap myself. its freaky when you have to sit there and listen to it in total silence in the dark.

  • I don't have tornadoes here

  • The national weather service i somethin'

  • It sucks cuz I live in Canada and we rarely have weather like this in Canada...But I do love tornado warnings in July and August

  • That beeping noise is still in my head (:

  • god.. i would shit in ma pants LOL :/

  • what is that device?

  • @pjcalder1990 that is a NOAA weather radio

  • we had that same thing today in indiana.

  • where can i get that

  • i have a noaa weather radio, got it at a garage sale. it's a little old, i listen to it a lot. I'm so dissapointed that there hasn't been a tornado since then. Ive been waiting a really long time!

  • **gulps** wow now i really dont want to live in america now spooky

  • @kaiyan246 Well this doesn't happen everywhere in America, actually tornadoes can happen anywhere in the world.

  • tornado warnings scare me! Also Since were in The Wabash Valley in Indiana we get tornado warnings but never happen. The closest call was on June 14 2010. The tornado almost hit directly where Lafayette and West Lafayette

  • My school has that.

  • i heard the clock say a 15 mph tornado thats so slow u could run from it

  • Even though I live in the East Coast, I H8 those things soooo much. Once when I was on vacay in MA with my sis (zepoodle9) , there was a fricking tornado warning even though there was NOOO TRONADO!!!

  • when u live alone , it's scary during a tornado warning

  • @lollipop1316 im glad im not the only one to think that.

  • @lollipop1316 Its even scarier if your 13 and your parents are at the grocery store and there is a tornado warning.

  • where can you get those kind of devices that tell when there's an alert? i want one!

  • i live in racine wi! i rember hearing this!

  • im sorry but that voice and the sirens would fucking shit me up more than anything in my life. swear i have phobia of all this. i like in the shitty UK where all it does is rain all year.

  • I live in racine wisconsin!

  • OH MY GOSH i live in racine wisconsin

  • stupid question, but do you have those radio things in every room in the house just in case?

I live in Scotland, hence the reason im asking lol

  • @Cassiefur Can't speak for the poster, but it is becoming a common recommendation around here to have one in every bedroom and one on each floor, just like a smoke alarm. Tornadoes can strike any time day or night, and nighttime tornadoes are the deadliest, and you can't rely on the tornado sirens to wake you up, especially if you're a heavy sleeper. These things will wake the dead! I have 4 of them in my house. It makes quite the racket when they go off! :)

  • @MobileTaz I imagine they do!

Have to say, after watching a few of these vids, im pretty happy I dont live in Dixie Alley or Tornado Alley. I have an aunt and uncle that live just outside Greensburg, Kansas. They were REALLY lucky back in 2007 when the F5 swept through. It's good that they have these warnings though. Still, even living there, and hearing them go off....must be shit-your-pants scary lol

  • @Cassiefur I'm a storm chaser, so it's more of an adrenaline rush to me.. :-) I live about an hour north of Greensburg. But I moved here last year, so I've only seen it in recovery mode But I know how bad it was. As bad as it is when they hit places here in the Plains, I would NEVER want to live in Dixie alley. Storms out there are a whole other sport completely. They get stronger, they move faster, and you can't see them coming.

  • @MobileTaz in a way, i would love to chase tornado's, but since I live in Scotland, theres not much chance of that . Still though - it takes balls to chase them and i think i would probably freak a tiny little bit lol

I suppose living out there and enduring these storms becomes like second nature to you though.

  • @Cassiefur I think that would be crazy, I don't have one anymore, and the only other person I know who does is my great grandfather

  • The voices dont annoy me the only thing that scares me when im SLEEPING is the beginning, ITS SO SCARY!! D: It wakes me up every time!!

  • Cool Video

  • that scary on number of levels i live wisconsin by u waukea

  • how does everyone become sidekick and know when the alarm will go off???

  • @Howcast26 Couple ways. The poster was obviously watching the storm on TV, so they would know the storm is headed their way. Also, the National Weather Service and the Weather Channel send out text messages for watches/warnings to people who sign up. These texts hit your phone about 10-20 seconds before the weather radios receive the alert signal. That's how I know mine is about to go off.

  • @Howcast26 do you mean psychic? instead of side kick????

A sidekick is a close companion who is generally regarded as subordinate to the one he accompanies.

  • @totallytucker1234 maybe!

  • i under a tornado warning right now

  • I would have ran outside to film it!

  • EVERYONE IF U HAVE SEEN AN TORNADO rank this comment up and say what strength it was my first was a F2

  • what is that thing? like a phone answering machine? I want one haha :)

  • @bammxitsxamanda Its a weather radio, It alerts you of lots of hazards, message me for more information!

  • i have a radio just like that. only it would say the national weather service in chicago has issued a tornado warning for and so on... great vid:D

  • Did one touch down

  • what town was this in?

I thought I heard sirens starting up in background.

  • I never saw a tornado in real life, I really want to though, I am always SO close to seeing one, but I never do...

  • @kamochi97 Trust me...YOU WILL NOT WANT TO SEE ONE! I live in Texas, and we see F5s!

  • @clarkloveselevators you see F5's in all of the midwest.. not just Texas..

  • @clarkloveselevators holy shit those things must get huge!!!

  • Lol I have one of those xD

  • Sounds like mine!! Except mine goes off for Columbia County.

  • Tornadoes dont scare me, its just the voice when it goes off

  • @owenowen why do you say that? those save lives

  • @ilovecappuccino1 well techinically they save lives if your smart and get your ass to the basement, but they dont if your a complete fuck tard and stand there waiting to see the tornado!

  • @ilovecappuccino1 Because he's a troll.

  • man, yesterday evening my weather radio was doing this when they issued a ton of tornado warnings all around Dane Country

  • i am scared as hell of tornados i am the family tornado screamer

  • I have 2 Midland 100 Weather Radios. I love them! They do however make me jump a little when they go off late at night. The first 1 I bought at Wal-Mart on clearance for about 7.00 if I remember correctly, and it was the last 1. The second one I bought over the phone from the weather radio store. The guy who works there told me the Midland 100 was the most popular. He said he sold more of those than any other. So I guess I made 2 good chioces!

  • OH MAH FUCKIN GAWD lol

    that was random.

i dont rlly care 4 these radios because of the fact that i have a thunderbolt siren in mah town!:D and i always look on the weather channel if the sky looks weird.

  • heyy guys thanx 4 ratin my comment so high ! plz check my vidz

  • Luckily I live in a basement!

  • oh my god.. i hate that voice.. i hate when it comes on tv... and the beeps D: kdhhsajk

  • @lionsforlyons when mines unplugged it wont do a damn thing. you can silence the alarms on these aside from the selective siren defeat, but im sure if there is a tornado warning or a severe thunderstorm warning (something worth waking people up in the middle of the night for), it may still go off. i have yet to find this out..

  • update...severe thunderstorm warnings are still silenced when the radio's switch shuts the siren off...ive no idea about tornado warnings yet.

  • I hate the weather radio voice... I just take the batteries out. AND THE WORST PART IS THATS THE ONLY WAY TO TURN IT OFF!!! If you turn the antenna off, it still goes off...

  • @CoolJSProductions thats creepy! its evil machine...evil inside! xD

  • 99TH LIKER

  • what is that and where can i get it?

  • @sppsschoolkid it is a NOAA Public Alert Weather Hazard Radio, and there are tons of them available at RadioShack. In order to get the alert like in this video, the radio must say "public alert" on it.

  • yeah, i heard it on the radio in the car when we were in fresno it wasnt sunny it looked like it was cloudy, and it was a severe tunderstorm for hanford at 6:30

  • i subbed =)

  • Mine says the exact thing except "The National Weather Service in Sullivan has issued a (What ever warning or watch) for Columbia County in South Central Wisconsin." hahaha..... I'm hopefully going to record it soon.

  • its not creepy ind my first was an f 5

  • Dude... I'd be sooo scared :OOO

  • what is that thingy, like an alarm clock? I want one!

  • 0:01 how comes it sounds like that instead of 0:52

  • @YuGiOh4Life1000

The sound at the start of the alert isn't a NOAA sound, it's the radio's sound.

  • I think it's supposed to scare you so that you'll probably be more likely to get somewhere safe and so you'll know it's a dangerous situatuion I think...

  • Is that a NOAA radio?

  • What radio/clock thing did he have? I've googled and found similar but not an EXACT same model. That is a sweet radio!

  • the eas errrt errrrt tone is scarier than the tornado itself

  • i live in monroe in greencounty which is just east of laffeyett. i remember that storm. i have the same recording. 27 news is the only decent coverage in the madison area

  • Should that light on the left turn RED or something?

My "old school" radio shack SAME alert weather radio has a RED indicator for WARNING, and Yellow for WATCH. Nice feature if you were outside and missed the original warning.

  • @grooviant there are 4 lights on the side, advisory, watch, warning, and ready. the green ready light is the one you see. if you look a little closer you can see the red warning light at the top. ive had all 4 lit up at one time before.

  • where did you get that raido?

  • Yup, this is when it passed between lake joy campground, and Darlington. I was at the lake, so I was flipping out!

  • 27news!

What town are you from in Lafayette county?

    I'm from western Dane county...

  • 0:00 it sounds like an alarm clock or something like that.

  • those beeps go on and off that kinda catchy

  • O.o

  • is it possible for you to send me that warning well the sound file for it coz i'm doing a powerpoint project about tornados and i would like this warning or different 1 if any has 1 could u please send it to me bye

  • Just rip the audio from the clip and give credit to it. He doesn't own that sound from the device, as he did not create it.

  • Is this voice computer generated or spoken sentences put together?

  • I think the radio/tv station strings hundreds of possible pre-recorded messages together for the final warning. Their servers receive an EAS SAFE header, which is very small and contains all of the vital information about the event. The server then forces the studio or whatever to generate and broadcast an EAS alert, and that strings together the sentence based on the info in the SAFE header.

  • It is actually NOAA "Craig".. It's a text-to-speech synthesizer. The NWS issues a written alert, which is then "read" by the Craig software. If you've ever seen the "Red Screen" warnings that scroll on The Weather Channel, that is the exact text that Craig reads.

  • mine did the same in virginia my computer showed the site and the storm on weatherbug it came up and said TWC has issued a *TORNADO WARNING SEEK SHELTER IMMEDATELY* then i beeped and beeped the twister never hit

  • i hate when they test those at like three in the morning and im still awake and watching tv

  • The tests that go out at 2-3am are the EAS (Emergency Alert System) tests that the cable/satellite/radio providers are required to issue once a week and once a month. They only come across the TV and radio, and they do not trigger NOAA Weather/All Hazards Radios. The NOAA test is performed every Wednesday between 10am and noon (11:14AM for my area).

  • The NWS in Paducah, KY has issued a *Tornado Warning* for Vanderburg Co. Until.........Take Cover Now! If you wait to see or hear it coming, it may be too late to get to a Safe Place.

    (What I hear.)

  • My NWS is from Paducah, KY too. PM me and let me know where you live. We might not live far away, but if anything we're probably at the most a couple of states away from each other.

  • aww

  • the voice is creepy on purpose its to try and get ppls attention and it works!!!

  • @djkid9 yep agree

  • @djkid9 ahaha yeah man. Totally aagree

  • @djkid9 I dont think its creepy

  • @djkid9 when I was younger we had a weather radio and it would always go off and it scared me so I asked my dad "please tell those people to change their voices"

  • The voices announcing the tornado warning are always so creepy... Like a robot almost!

  • it is a robot....

  • @luvluvluv96 Its is like a robot. Its a computer generated voice or something like that lol

  • its a bomb

  • duck and cover!

  • it sounds like an alarm clock at 0:00

  • go to under ground go go go

  • This never made anything!

My sister lives in platteville, and live in a county nearby.

  • Comment removed

  • is that real or did you make it set that time o there?

  • Hello!

What kind of warning is this in the Radio?

    Warning of normaly Radio Frequencies?

  • @Eisenbahnfan: This is a severe weather warning. Now it is warning of a local tornado. The frequency (In U.S.) is 162.40 to 162.55 MHz FM. If dangerous weather is approaching, the radio will turn itself on and notify you.
