I found some more, cheaper 'Lego' that was not called 'Lego' but called 'Duplo'. This piece of equipment was extremely helpful as it is in larger pieces and more easy to see/find around the average family home.

Wow! This is amazing! I commend your smartness, young boy! My grandchild has asked for some 'Lego' last Christmas. I thought i would allow him a starter pack as he is only twelve. He told me he would approve only of a Toy Store and a Boat. He loved the starter pack I gave him. But unfortunately spilt Lemonade over it so we sadly had to put it in a trash can.

People make lego safes and candy machines to intrigue people (like you said) and to have some fun.
