Pete thanks again for a very interesting vid . I don't think i have seen many u tubes on camping and canoeing .Plus your high points on the animals , plants and what you can do with them . PS whats your dogs name please . Not many people would try and film with there pets well done .
@roodeny1 Thanks a lot for the feedback and likeing. Dog called Akasha - means bright light/energy. Yes she's a bit of a safari dog out on our travels lol....and good company. Cheers.
Its spoils things abit when your solitude is invaded by young lads who obviously dont no the wildcamping code, I think you would frighten the crap out of me mate no offense but i imagine the wildman of borneo not looking to dissimilar to yourself lol.
I am off to checkout your 2 day wildcamp posted in April not sure i have seen that one.
@daveswildcamping It does rile me when you come across other peoples rubbish & crap when all it takes is to lift it up & put it in a bag to take home, where's the friggin effort in that. Happened again this weekend when I spur of the moment needed to get out & sleep outdoors "Borneo wildman" style LoL :-) Nuff said at the moe as it will be included in the next camp out for 24hrs brief vid by end of this week. Getting a monster face mask soon to do a video prank & shit up would be stalkers LoL:-)
@MINDWISEMAN You need a mask mate psml am still waiting of me you and paul doing a willdcamp that me mint, Vauxhall007 goes daveswildcamping with the mindwisman :)
@daveswildcamping We'll have to pencil in a prospecting tally to do our own "wilderness gathering" 3 musketeers style LoL......on the wildcamp menu - Welsh lamb, northern beef steak........& biggest campfire cooked concoction you can think of mixed spicey meat n veg stew LoL. Now there's a thought.
Thanks for the enjoyable time Pete. I forgot to mention last time how much I laughed at your flip flip joke! : o) Glad to see you did what you did too. It's a great exercise in stealth, but not as much fun sitting in a cold camp quietly waiting for something to happen or not happen. I'll patiently wait for the crazy man from Borneo video. : ) Looking forward to seeing some stuff on fitness too. There's so many BOB videos outs and nothing on actually training to carry them. LOVED THIS SERIES! : )
@saradreaming Thanks so much Sara, always nice to get feedback from a lady of out great outdoorsing it fraternity. Yeh might just a get a pair of flip flips to add to my kit for back up just in case :-) Wild crazy Borneo man will have to be an addition to a vid in the future - got my imagination running Borneo wild with that idea now LoL. Conditioning/sustainance etc stuff in the near pipeline to compliment what we do so will be good to share it. All the big best to you my friend - Cheers!!
Loved em Pete...the kids and I watched both parts in motion picture style and really enjoyed them bud....esp the part regarding the 2 guys, the 'jump out and scare em' part had us laughing, and you reinforced some of my lessons which is always great because hearing common safty sense from other folks catches their ears...great stuff bud, can't say enough good regarding your skills and they way you put them on video...cheers bud....Dennis
@AdventuresWithDad As always really appreciate your comments & idea the "outdoor crew" big screen it with my wilding days out :-) Humour & safety awareness balances what we like to do outdoors. I have thought of getting a creepy monster mask you can put right over your head and look like a zombie or wolfman to fright up any would be stalker.....still have one on my ebay watching list....mmmmmm...may just have to acquire one to add to a future vid - be well funny :-)))) All the big best buddy!!
Enjoyable as always Pete, thanks for sharing your latest trip. I liked your crazed bushman idea for scaring visitors, that could have been great footage haha. But really I think the tarp setup with the clip in the middle is good, and I think I'll be getting me a clip for my tarp.
@gaeret 2 versions of vid, uploaded 1st version instead of 2nd, went to replace 1st with the 2nd, deletion/swap went scewiff, now vid editor on laptop's playing up and looks like I've gota do the whole darn thing all over again. Hopefully next 48hrs - a real bummer :-/
Funny you considered sneaking up and surprising them, did your dog give your position away? Who knows, they might have considered the same before you went over, and they were like, well I guess it is too late to sneak up on him now : )
@1IdeaAhead The riverways tend to echo sounds much different to terra firma and when you get used to it you can assess directions and distance, providing you have that mind set. If they heard my dog they would have more likely it coming from someone elsewhere not expecting the Wild Man of Borneo to be in the undergrowth :-) lol
I like it when you have to think on your toes now & then, keeps the senses sharp. Maybe a set of flip flips added to my kit :-))))
good video pete. nice to get time out and even had company of a sorts with the other two lads. did like the wild man thoughts though. and like the idea of future vids. far too many out there just like to show how big their knife is. and many forget their nutrition and well being. pity they left a mess after the fire but cest la vie.
@mazadan Thanks for the feedback Pete. I always think of mind & body as part of my kit :-) I think a lot of people don't think they're doing harm when they leave .e.g. fire pit burnt out & left, & the majority of times it isn't, but it's just common courtesy to the great outdoors to tidy up after you.....just like flushing the toilet....mind you some people... :-)
That would have been funny seeing you all muddied up with a flop in hand and running at those two guys...LOL. Now those are the type of camping meals I like ;-)) I enjoyed that as usual Pete, thanks for sharing. Take Care :-))
Another great video. Shame that the lads left their fire in a mess, it doesn't take much time to brush it over. I purchased a set of softies, jacket and trousers, and look forward to trying them out this autumn/winter, you always seem so comfortable in yours!
@tokenminds Thanks. Yes some people go about their travels and just don't think like regular bushcrafty outdoorsies do, a real bone of contention we all come across sometimes :-/
You'll find the softies a real boon with or without sleep bag/blanket coz if you need to get up in the night you're still reasonabley kept warm and not loosing all the body heat leaving full sleep kit. Plus they're light weight and compactable. Nice one.
@MINDWISEMAN Softie set arrived. Brand new army issue. They do pack down but still going to have to re-think my rucksack packing. Looking forward to trying them out in the wilds in a few weeks. Thanks for the reply and I'll look forward to your next video.
@Smith28Adventure Thanks, yes recceing what's going on around keeps you on your toes and senses naturally sharp. Tutor a cross section of subjects from mind body well being subjects, mentoring/coaching lifestyle changes and personal awareness/security. Cheers!
@cdltpx Nice one, I'll have to head phone play it next time I watch myself, that's if i can get a copy from an old school rocker relative - and I think I know just the person :-) Cheers!
@MINDWISEMAN Open the video on YT and have your video open then play I listen to music on YT all the time. I have paid for all those albums got tired of switching from album to 8 track to cassette cd I now they want to bust our ballz when we download a cut we have paid for 5 times. So now I don't buy ANYTHING I listen to music on here and I listen to classical when I drive. What pushed me over the top with music was when I had my I fon loaded updated program and it dumped my entire music file !
@cdltpx Will check it out, that's a bummer about loosing the music file....that's mdoern technology for you. Bring back old school tactile things we can utilise.
@MINDWISEMAN The music companies want to cry music theft what about us I have CDs that will not play tapes that were munched. The deal is they should allow us to buy copies of music we have that is damaged or if we have it in another format they should give us a cut to get it in digital but Noooo they will not do this so I listen to classical I can find classical CD's all day long $2 for 4 hours of music on cd. Love your videos we are getting cooler I might try some outdoor sleeping?
"keeping in condition"--great idea for a series of vids! We all get too caught up in the gear-side of things. I like your cooking and menu ideas, too.
@Urbanwild1 Thanks for the feedback, other vids soon so they are interesting and informative so viewers can really understand the principles and hopefully apply them in one way shape or form. Regards
Flip's sake! Another flippin' marvelous vid trip mate. Flippin' never witnessed a squirrel doing the butterfly, so if you do, make sure you get it on flippin' film! Excellent stuff, even the flippin' jokes!
I've been doing day outs in me Canadian exploring obscure streams and backwaters around Oxford for a while. Given me a new lease of life. Now I'm getting meself ready and gathering the gear to go wild camping soon hoperfully, your vids are a great help.
@Grifftinderpals LoL...repetition of "flippin". Nice to know you're getting on the waters and enjoying the outdoors in a way sometimes only canoeing can do. A bit of forethought with some basic ideas/info' and you'll have a whale (excuse pun) of a time, glad to be of help. "Be out there......" Cheers!
@g0vqw Yes Sandy, people can get a little complaceant towards personal safety awareness & mind body condition. I know it's helped me out of a few situations in the past whereby I may not have been here to tell the story...but that literally is another world and story...maybe campfire talk chat one day. Create Yoda Jedi Knight mind control to make 'em apprehensive LoL ;-) I have been told of night fishermen getting mugged/kit stolen. Mind set - always be one step ahead.
