  • What do you do with the tail end when you are done? How do you fasten it so the hole doesn't get bigger?

  • @SaileAway : That's a very good question! I take a sharp-pointed tapestry needle (so that I can skim through the backs of old stitches) and weave the tail through a few stitches going clockwise, then out some, then a ways counterclockwise (or vice versa). The idea is to have the yarn bend around, vs going in a straight line. That way, when any stress comes on the tail, only so much yarn can come back. Esp if some of the stitches you skim through are in the inmost round, holding them still.

  • @MtMomDesigns Thanks!

  • @MtMomDesigns do you have a video of how to secure the tail end? i can figure out how to secure it, it just doesn't look very pretty :S

  • @wolfbanewinter No video for that. Sorry.

Some tips: leave some slack after first few sts; use a sharp needle and pierce the plies of the stitches you're going through; do something like duplicate stitch on back side. You don't want it to show on RS, but the appearance of the WS doesn't matter much.

  • To pegschr: Any kind of increase will work here. Lately, I use the bar increase (kfb) or twisted YO's. The very first increase round is tricky for "lifted" or "raised" increases, but these can be used effectively in later rounds.

  • THANK YOU !!!!!! what kind of increase do you do with this circular knitting method? pegschr@yahoo.com

  • can you show us how to complete a flat circular afghan with all the increases, about a baby size. I have searched the internet for weeks trying to find a plain circle afghan pegschr@yahoo.com
