• There is realy and this hot comedy Aristophanius side of bebop Jazz! Very funny and true!!!

  • Actually they are just taking choruses. The only dispute is in his mind

  • You look like ashton kutcher

  • Really funny dude! I had to watch several times in a row just to take it all in. Super funny! I love jazz too!

  • i love this

  • I was re-watching this video... and I was wondering... How many times have you performed this live?

  • BRAVO !!!!!!

Absolutely superb.. you obviously know that piece of Jazz inside out.

    I really enjoyed that.. Thankyou.

  • that one chick sounded like she was having an orgasm...

  • youre timing is freaking unbelivable

  • that was majestic

  • Awesome job. super cool. I'd come see this live for sure. Plus, who wouldn't love seeing this at a party... or even a jam session... oh yeah... keep it up, and the music is awesome!!

  • shuldve had some punches been thrown during the drum breaks, still a great video

  • That was cool !

  • What a fascinating interpretation. Call me a fan.

  • I love how you bring LeapFrog to life. Your performance is no easy task to bring "Bird" , Dizzy, and Buddy into such animated characters. I could envision Dizzy conversing with "Bird" to get his act together in regards to his habit. This is great stuff. As Monk said: "You gotta dig it, to dig it, ya dig?"

  • Why doesn't people (or actually that beyotch with the loud laugh) shut up?

I think this is genius but the public (actually that broad) is annoying.

  • @luckyuniversal She might be well fit and that. She might look like Marilyn Munroe or something though

  • @bopkick5 Eh?

  • @luckyuniversal yo i was just replying to someone one who was saying a woman in the audience was being too noisy and laughin too much (which i dont agree with by the way) . . . but i was just saying hang on a minute she might look like marilyn munroe or something . . . you dig me ?

  • Totally! To those who don't quite understand where he's coming from, before critiquing I suggest trying it yourself. As a musician myself, I see how hard and difficult this would be to pull off! It causes the performer to truly know the piece through and through. And you are incredible, a true jazz listener. Thanks for promoting jazz through this wonderful expressive art form.

  • cool video . yo people stop all this hating you bunch of no-scale flumpets. go an buy a charlie parker record. yo im serious

  • Bird and Diz would be fuckin proud! Sir, you are a hero!

  • Sooooo awesome!!!!

  • Bravo

  • ...brilliant!...

    sincerely,

    bill mcbirnie

  • Genius!

  • I may have responded to the profile video before. I found your channel through Max Koch/ You are really talented and your videos are beyond entertaining. Well done sir.

    -the Schmoes

  • fantástico!!

  • This goes way back. I saw Jerry Lewis do this in the early 60s, and I'm sure it was around before. Billy Crystal does a nice one, too.

  • so cool how u move like that :S

  • Lol, pure genius. To think he had to memorize the solos...

  • He's a genius!! ahahah!!!

  • That was fun.

I only glanced at the previous "debates," as all that negative energy wears me out.

I have degree in Jazz and make my living at it-- but appreciate the inherent fun of it as well. Otherwise you're just a miserable person.

  • that lady in the background is so obnoxious.. like reli.

  • i fink people get bored towards the end!

  • When's your Next performance?

  • where was this performed, at what for?

  • What an interesting interpretation and expression. I think you'd really have to appreciate a piece of music to be able to do what the gentleman in this video did.

    Bravo.

  • great

  • that was amazing...

  • Awesome Performance!!! Diz and Bird would be very happy! And they probably are as they see you perform from up top!

Very very creative! You truly brought their amazing solos even more to life! Great Job!

  • Wondeful !

  • Amazing. Exactly this is the music. Genius :-)

  • Still so cool this is.

  • i'm a bebopper and dig this. great choreography! i think you improved the drum parts a bit even.

  • Wow Jeremiah/Bernard, you impress me with your skill in so many different manifests of art... but also having a fantastic grasp on the more... rational... wondrous... scientific things in life.

Not to mention you're a bit of a philosophy and history pundit. It's daunting to even know a person like you exists in times like these... daunting but refreshing and quite inspiring. Keep it up please.

  • i like it ... i love jazz and listen to alot of charlie parker and dizzy gillespie and i think you did a great job on acting the phrases parker and gillespie play out... i think its very natural aswell... it shows that phrases are not that different from the speech and language we use

  • This is great. It's too bad we don't have popular vaudville shows anymore. This would fit perfectly in that type of a format! Also people with annoying laughs should not be permitted to sit so close lol.

  • Nice. Quite a difficult acting/movement piece to pull off, since you're the only one standing there and must sustain the audience's interest. You'd probably get extra depth to the piece if you redo it as a parody / impersonation of 2-3 famous people (the more incongruent the better) arguing with one another over an important issue to the point of silliness (complete with lightning-fast "costume changes" -- e.g. put on glasses for one, a hat for another).

  • Changed my mind! Eres excelente asi solo!!! Te felicito!!! Bravo! Bravo!

  • Holy SHIT!!! This is the funniest and classiest thing I've seen in the past 5 minutes.

  • I would like to know who was playing Sax and who was on Trumpet... was it Charlie Parker on Sax?

  • Yup. Parker on sax, Dizzy on trumpet (and Buddy Rich on drums).

  • Sounds like my first wife

  • Not Original at all, as Pace said, Jerry Lewis!!!!

  • Sheesh. While we're on the subject, may I commend you on this bold new art form you've developed of standing in front of an audience and telling short stories with punch-lines? I think Mark Twain may have attempted something similar, but don't let that deter you!

  • No, wait. William Sommers - court jester of Henry VIII - did it before Mark Twain. I guess that makes you the third. Still not bad.

  • Ok, so we've got a scholar here, and there is no sense to dignify his unintelligence.

    So keep on weeping!!!

  • Not bad...

Jerry Lewis did this years ago with a different song and a big band. He also used a lot more facial expression.....I'm glad to see that someone still loves the art of Bee-Bop Jazz

  • Right. I like to approach modern dancers and remind them that Isadora Duncan performed movement set to music way back in the early 20th century.

  • Hey nice foot work man

  • You should just quit now you talentless HACK!

    lol j/k

    This is great.

  • My god you are brilliant!!

  • ure a genius mann!

  • Where was that at

  • good point! haha

  • Wondeful !

  • awesome

  • I second that

  • The comments are so positive, and the feedback on the comments is so positive. Good work everyone!

  • Shut up.

    Baha, just kidding. Great vid.

  • ftw :D

  • Fabulous performance!

  • very good performance. you really are a professional bernard

  • Stage version rocks -- better than the vid version. Reminds me of Robert Post's mime work. Check out his website and see if you agree!

  • haha you are very talented!

  • This really cracks me up, what a great video and what a wonderful idea. congrats

  • Genious! It's incredible that you're not a musician!

  • nice interpretation of music

it had a touch of jerry lewis` genius

  • Ahah, looked great live!

  • Hey, the YOU SUCK was a reply to doctorkazoo, I don't know why it showed up under the video!

  • Entrancing 0_0. lol

  • Wow. Awesome stuff... You show both a great sense of humor and stunning musicality. Did you have any form of training?

  • that was good you are good in so meany ways at timeinng at movement and creating funny as rev cor blow

    I like the hat

  • amazing videos! =D

  • Outstandingly hip! Congratulations--you have style, musicality, humor, grace in a single package which also respects the genius of messrs parker and gillespie. Bravo!

  • is your name jeremiah thats why you call yourself the weeping prophet??? im just askiing out of curiosity

  • Bingo!

  • We will see you on top, I'm sure of it.

  • yes yes yes that is jazz!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Didn't you hear? Civilization is crumbling and I'm leading the way! Viva la dorky hat!

  • OR you realize that what he s doing is original, which is the essence of jazz. but you don't see that, because our society is crumbling!

  • And I say, good riddance to society. (Thanks, by the way!)

  • As we say: YOU SUCK

  • Ouch! Ya got me!

  • "You will go to them; but for their part, they will not listen to you"

an amazing work but a few wievs and haters... maybe it suppost to be so again!

  • Please try again in English

  • enjoy the live dude... dont be mean to others because u got problems in your live!

  • 4hNiu: Why do I have to love this crap that this guy is trying to pass as off as clever or inventive? It's not original, it's irritating, and I have every right to express my opinion! If he doesn't want ANY negative feedback about his videos he shouldn't post them on the Internet. I don't like some guy coming on here mocking brilliant jazz, which, to me, is what he's doing. I'm not mean, I'm opinionated

  • Sorry, I had to dig through the comments to remember who the hell you are. Precisely how am I "trying to pass as off" (sic) as clever or inventive? I didn't force the audience to react the way they did. People enjoy it, which is why I put it online. If you honestly think I'm mocking jazz, I can point you to hundreds of jazz enthusiasts who would beg to differ, some of which I've befriended and collaborated with. But keep trolling. It's bound to improve your social life.

  • I can't believe people are trying to say that your are mocking jazz! You basically just ILLUSTATED what jazz truly is!! That was amazing!! People these days are just so close-minded it's almost funny. Keep up the great work!! It was a fantastic performance and don't let people tell you otherwise!

    -Tim

  • Incidentally, one of those collaborations was a video called "YouTube Is My Life", which is about people who post dumbass comments under YouTube videos. Look it up.

  • Why should it matter to me who you're responding to? Would you prefer it if I asked for permission before chiming in? The simple fact is you were wrong about my motivations for making the video, so I corrected you. As for most people not knowing what good music is, are you saying Leap Frog isn't good? I'm not sure what you're arguing either.

  • So incredibly, and typically, simple-minded you are...

  • Not opinionated, just incredibly dense. He isn't mocking jazz you idiot. This is almost precisely what the musicians want the listener to see in their heads. This is pure art. The composition is MEANT to sound like an argument between two trumpets; something WeepingP manifests beautifully here. It is in fact clever.

Jazz itself obviously goes over your head if you couldn't make that out yourself. You maybe should just stop listening to it because it does nothing for you.

  • I always have to laugh at people like you who can't tolerate one dissenting voice in a sea of praise. This page has become almost a shrine to this goof ball and I'm just one guy who doesn't buy the act and for some reason that's enough to ruin your day, LOL. I mean you really seemed worked up by my opinion. You're getting so emotional! It's sort of amusing to me.

  • Of course you're amused... Stupid people think everythig is funny.

And it's not just a simple "opinion;" you have a true misunderstanding of jazz music in general... only because you are of a simple-mind.

  • Oh, and the other thing about your "opinion." There WAS an opinion in there when you wrote that you simply thought it was terrible or whatever, and that would have been fine with me, but you didn't leave it at an opinion, you also made a claim. Your obviously incorrect and simply-worked-out (well obvious to anyone who isn't slow) claim was the reason I felt the need to reply you at all moron.

  • A "claim"? What claim did I make? What's wrong with making a claim? You've made several claims! You claim I'm simple-minded, dense, an idiot, stupid, and a moron. I haven't typed such ugly things about you!I guess you're not really up to having a mature, intelligent debate with me.You ARE only 18, though,so I suppose it's normal that you'd act like a child.Anyway I can mix it up with all sorts of people here but it feels wrong to keep debating a teenager. You haven't really learned to think yet.

  • Ageism? Really? Lol, alright, make your excuses, that's just fine. There's no mature debate to be had with a moron like you.

Oh, and you claimed weepingprophet was "mocking brilliant jazz." He wasn't. He was doing the exact opposite actually.

  • "Ageism?" HAHAHAHA You're only 18 and it shows. Now go do your homework or something and stop wasting your time arguing with people on YouTube!

  • Uh... yes, "ageism." I'm sorry, are you unfamiliar with the term? You should probably look it up then.

I don't care for an argument, I just felt the need to inform you of how ignorant & simple-minded you appeared to be.

You're obviously not all that bright to interpret this video the way you did, & that's just the fact of the matter. Play condescending old man (because you're old & 37) as a means to deflect your feelings of confusion & stupidity, whatever, but you're a dim one regardless.

  • You claimed, this was "crap", "irritating", "bad performance", "mocking brilliant jazz", "unoriginal".

You have "typed out ugly things" to her and other people. You called her an idiot. You called other people stupid and indirectly offended them by pointing out useless things in an undifferentiated way.

Furthermore you attacked the author of THIS video for commenting on your comments, while you do the exact same. You are attacking him and are not accepting any criticism yourself. Hypocritical.

  • Any of you guys mind if I set your correspondence here to music as a live performance piece?

  • were was this

  • fantastic. i think i like this one even better than the studio version. bravo.

  • that's jazz

  • YES. Just fucking YES.

The tenth time of watching and still funny, talented, learned and original. The perfect youtube video.

  • BRAVO!!! Refreshing...!!!

  • :))

  • Awesomeeee.

  • thats amazing.

  • this is so clever.

  • It is so cool to hear an audience reaction this time. They are as thrilled as I was when I saw the first vid with this.

  • You're the fucking man.

  • Great performance. :]

  • Brilliant!

  • Superb. It is a shame if there is no Cornelius Blow live performance, but I think the video log format suits him better. Mass Suicide worked perfectly that way (even though we're all still here!).

  • Oh, I'm fairly sure dear old Cornelius could be re-configured for the stage. Remember, the overwhelming majority of those clips are just one guy talking. Still, we'll probably never know.

  • Great stuff.. Listen to that audience scream. My reaction is just a stupid big grin.. I want to join the debate!

  • Before I even watch this.. gotta say.. I so wish I was there! :D

  • this is so awesome I wish I was there in person to see it awesome job

  • It's fantastic to hear the audience reaction, actually. And I'm pleased to see the gay-as-hell pretense-laden hat is still present and correct....

  • Too bad we never got to hear an audience react to Cornelius. A missed opportunity...

  • hint hint. i look forward to it.

  • Sweet

  • Genius as always... You so should do a version of this as a collaboration with live musicians. It would be so bohemian... :op

  • And the show has gone on the road. :-) Still great.
