Awesome job. super cool. I'd come see this live for sure. Plus, who wouldn't love seeing this at a party... or even a jam session... oh yeah... keep it up, and the music is awesome!!
I love how you bring LeapFrog to life. Your performance is no easy task to bring "Bird" , Dizzy, and Buddy into such animated characters. I could envision Dizzy conversing with "Bird" to get his act together in regards to his habit. This is great stuff. As Monk said: "You gotta dig it, to dig it, ya dig?"
@luckyuniversal yo i was just replying to someone one who was saying a woman in the audience was being too noisy and laughin too much (which i dont agree with by the way) . . . but i was just saying hang on a minute she might look like marilyn munroe or something . . . you dig me ?
Totally! To those who don't quite understand where he's coming from, before critiquing I suggest trying it yourself. As a musician myself, I see how hard and difficult this would be to pull off! It causes the performer to truly know the piece through and through. And you are incredible, a true jazz listener. Thanks for promoting jazz through this wonderful expressive art form.
I may have responded to the profile video before. I found your channel through Max Koch/ You are really talented and your videos are beyond entertaining. Well done sir.
What an interesting interpretation and expression. I think you'd really have to appreciate a piece of music to be able to do what the gentleman in this video did.
Wow Jeremiah/Bernard, you impress me with your skill in so many different manifests of art... but also having a fantastic grasp on the more... rational... wondrous... scientific things in life.
Not to mention you're a bit of a philosophy and history pundit. It's daunting to even know a person like you exists in times like these... daunting but refreshing and quite inspiring. Keep it up please.
i like it ... i love jazz and listen to alot of charlie parker and dizzy gillespie and i think you did a great job on acting the phrases parker and gillespie play out... i think its very natural aswell... it shows that phrases are not that different from the speech and language we use
This is great. It's too bad we don't have popular vaudville shows anymore. This would fit perfectly in that type of a format! Also people with annoying laughs should not be permitted to sit so close lol.
Nice. Quite a difficult acting/movement piece to pull off, since you're the only one standing there and must sustain the audience's interest. You'd probably get extra depth to the piece if you redo it as a parody / impersonation of 2-3 famous people (the more incongruent the better) arguing with one another over an important issue to the point of silliness (complete with lightning-fast "costume changes" -- e.g. put on glasses for one, a hat for another).
Sheesh. While we're on the subject, may I commend you on this bold new art form you've developed of standing in front of an audience and telling short stories with punch-lines? I think Mark Twain may have attempted something similar, but don't let that deter you!
Jerry Lewis did this years ago with a different song and a big band. He also used a lot more facial expression.....I'm glad to see that someone still loves the art of Bee-Bop Jazz
Outstandingly hip! Congratulations--you have style, musicality, humor, grace in a single package which also respects the genius of messrs parker and gillespie. Bravo!

A guy who makes full use of YouTube (an on-line society) declares "goods riddance to society?" I think you need to rethink that stance. Hey, what would Charlie Parker have said about that? By the way...you're doing here, boohooprophet, isn't original . . .silly but not original.
4hNiu: Why do I have to love this crap that this guy is trying to pass as off as clever or inventive? It's not original, it's irritating, and I have every right to express my opinion! If he doesn't want ANY negative feedback about his videos he shouldn't post them on the Internet. I don't like some guy coming on here mocking brilliant jazz, which, to me, is what he's doing. I'm not mean, I'm opinionated
Sorry, I had to dig through the comments to remember who the hell you are. Precisely how am I "trying to pass as off" (sic) as clever or inventive? I didn't force the audience to react the way they did. People enjoy it, which is why I put it online. If you honestly think I'm mocking jazz, I can point you to hundreds of jazz enthusiasts who would beg to differ, some of which I've befriended and collaborated with. But keep trolling. It's bound to improve your social life.
I can't believe people are trying to say that your are mocking jazz! You basically just ILLUSTATED what jazz truly is!! That was amazing!! People these days are just so close-minded it's almost funny. Keep up the great work!! It was a fantastic performance and don't let people tell you otherwise!
Incidentally, one of those collaborations was a video called "YouTube Is My Life", which is about people who post dumbass comments under YouTube videos. Look it up.

Weepy: I'm not even sure what we're arguing about anymore. Anyway, I was responding to 4hNiu not you. I don't care what hundreds of people think...most people don't even know what good music is anymore. I don't know what "trolling" is and don't know what my stupid social life has to do with your bad performance art. I guess, you mean well so good luck to you.
Why should it matter to me who you're responding to? Would you prefer it if I asked for permission before chiming in? The simple fact is you were wrong about my motivations for making the video, so I corrected you. As for most people not knowing what good music is, are you saying Leap Frog isn't good? I'm not sure what you're arguing either.
Not opinionated, just incredibly dense. He isn't mocking jazz you idiot. This is almost precisely what the musicians want the listener to see in their heads. This is pure art. The composition is MEANT to sound like an argument between two trumpets; something WeepingP manifests beautifully here. It is in fact clever.
Jazz itself obviously goes over your head if you couldn't make that out yourself. You maybe should just stop listening to it because it does nothing for you.
I always have to laugh at people like you who can't tolerate one dissenting voice in a sea of praise. This page has become almost a shrine to this goof ball and I'm just one guy who doesn't buy the act and for some reason that's enough to ruin your day, LOL. I mean you really seemed worked up by my opinion. You're getting so emotional! It's sort of amusing to me.
Oh, and the other thing about your "opinion." There WAS an opinion in there when you wrote that you simply thought it was terrible or whatever, and that would have been fine with me, but you didn't leave it at an opinion, you also made a claim. Your obviously incorrect and simply-worked-out (well obvious to anyone who isn't slow) claim was the reason I felt the need to reply you at all moron.
A "claim"? What claim did I make? What's wrong with making a claim? You've made several claims! You claim I'm simple-minded, dense, an idiot, stupid, and a moron. I haven't typed such ugly things about you!I guess you're not really up to having a mature, intelligent debate with me.You ARE only 18, though,so I suppose it's normal that you'd act like a child.Anyway I can mix it up with all sorts of people here but it feels wrong to keep debating a teenager. You haven't really learned to think yet.
Uh... yes, "ageism." I'm sorry, are you unfamiliar with the term? You should probably look it up then.
I don't care for an argument, I just felt the need to inform you of how ignorant & simple-minded you appeared to be.
You're obviously not all that bright to interpret this video the way you did, & that's just the fact of the matter. Play condescending old man (because you're old & 37) as a means to deflect your feelings of confusion & stupidity, whatever, but you're a dim one regardless.
You claimed, this was "crap", "irritating", "bad performance", "mocking brilliant jazz", "unoriginal".
You have "typed out ugly things" to her and other people. You called her an idiot. You called other people stupid and indirectly offended them by pointing out useless things in an undifferentiated way.
Furthermore you attacked the author of THIS video for commenting on your comments, while you do the exact same. You are attacking him and are not accepting any criticism yourself. Hypocritical.
Superb. It is a shame if there is no Cornelius Blow live performance, but I think the video log format suits him better. Mass Suicide worked perfectly that way (even though we're all still here!).
