Damn man, I live next to there now in Daniels. 20 years ago there was a 27 story residence hall. There was a parking lot there last year, now it's a 50 yard practice field for football. Crazy.
I was there too. I went off about 20 minutes early. I barely got there in time. I saw it from Calhoun St. The dust chased us for blocks and coated everything in about 1/4" thick layer!
I was there to see this in person--if I remember right, it went off about 20 minutes late. It was quite the party atmosphere--wall-to-wall people, people on rooftops, pizzas being delivered............Great hosts here, but it was just soooooo much better in person!
@arothmanmusic I was in Daniels in 87 for a bit then lived a block away from Adriatico's right there before moving to gaslight with my GF. I too thought it had been down for ages.... I wonder how high they let people live.
Amazing story, how could you possibly design a building with insufficient fire escapes... I used to ride my dual sport Kawi 250 around there and turf up the lawn and shit, I was like, "well they're gonna have to tear it down anyway!!!"
I only graduated two years ago, so I never lived in Sander. I lived in Daniels, which you can see in the video. It's hard for me to believe that right next door was a building that was twice as tall.
Sander Hall 925/2455 and 221 so I lived in the suburbs and the ghetto,,,,,,, if you lived there you'll know what "lobby two" was about and Frank is head of dorm services now at UC,,,,,,, so he's been with the university since 79' for sure little Frank has since graduated too and now my son will be going there,,,,,,,,,time flies.
was on the highest student floor, the 25th. At that time on campus ALL phone numbers began with only 1 exchange. You could call anyone using 4 digits. Most of us applied letters for the #s. My phone was J-U-M-P. A fun fact to share here. Asbestos brought 'her' down.
There goes the Pirate Bar.

I lived in Daniels for the '94/'95 school year... I had no idea Sander was demolished only a few years earlier. I thought it'd been gone for ages.
