  • the pianist looks so genuinely happy to be playing this music

  • 0:38 save yourself a bit of time.

  • Thumbs up if Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows brought you here!

  • Schubert was most probably the greatest composer that ever lived. He achieved this greatness despite his very brief sojourn on this planet. A life on this earth even briefer than Mozart's. And this was obviously a fine exuberant interpretation of this superb quinted by Schubert.

  • very good... but first 3 minutes are terrible. they were not together, also not musically. listen to Amadeus quartet with Gilels, to have understand...

  • Takes my breath away! What a talented, gifted and captivating ensemble.

Every day I listen to some early Louis Armstrong (1923 - 1932) and some Mozart, Chopin or - Schubert. - by this group.

  • 0:37 for start save your life

  • its so refreshing seeing the double bass playing an equal part in classical music.

  • the enthusiasm they have is a perfect example for anything in life....if you love it, it will show in your mannerisms causing you to go beyond perfection. just out of your love of doing it, its very inspiring!

  • Marvellous performance of a classic ....as great as Curzon's legendary one with the Amadeus Quartet. sd goh (malaysia)

  • @301250 indeed, that is the legendary recording!

  • It was the first piece I loved when i was about 10 years old. It still is my favorite piece.

  • It was the first piece I loved when i was about 10 years old. It still is.

  • It really sounds like a brook and trouts

  • Marvelous!

  • The pianist is great.

  • Poor Schubert, he never got rich from his music composed. He just enriched our lives!

  • Dear Lord. Today, the Schubert Trout quintet was the very first piece of classical music to ever make me cry. And I've listened to a lot of classical. It's... It's just perfect in every way possible. It's like he knew... Schubert knew how to open our hearts and pour in such emotion. What a wonderful thing to experience at the age of 15.

  • The pianist slays me! HAHAHA!!

  • Bored :-(

  • @Dudo898 Perhaps some other piece by Schubert will suit your fancy.

  • my brother liked this song. He was just then entering the hell of schizophrenia. I assume it's a hell. So it seemed to me. perhaps it's a release. At any rate, he liked this.

  • Why doesn't Rachlin always vibrate the top of phrases? 1:40-2:20 or something like that.

  • Culori, transparenta, autentic. Un dar de la Doamne Doamne.

  • Uwielbiam ten kwintet :)

  • oh, schubert.....grande......

  • Sublime. To think that Schubert died at only 31! He shold have lived until 90.

  • @marklavar he was certainly an hero

  • Aw, I've always loved this work by Schubert.

I should get a whole equarium of of fish and name them after composers...hehe.

  • @keetner lol, funny you mention. I used to have 2 pet turtles named mozart and beethoven.... i was such a dorky kid

  • @mikejr41387

LOL oh man...I don't even remember making that comment haha.

It's okay. I named my pet rabbit after John Williams...

  • @keetner

  • maisky è proprio un....

    e sbuffa anche!

  • Nabuko Imai is an awesome violist. She sounds great.

  • Too bad there isn't a camera pointing to the pianist's hands - that would have been a thing of beauty.

  • shut up and get a life

  • here here!

  • Spelled it wrong.

  • The music doesn't sing? Schubert is one of the most melodic composers to have ever lived. Melody after melody after melody, each one equals perfection. His understanding of counterpoint, form, and his unremarkable creativity make him one of the greatest, most unique, composers to have appeared.

  • @nymfan825 Amen to that

    Aled

  • @nymfan825 Completely correct. Hence the nickname "Der Liederprinz" (The Prince of Songs)

    i love it!! <333

  • michaela you are brilliant , fantastic! you are a genius of the piano!

  • Wow! Thanks. Dorothea :))))

  • Absolutely beautiful piano. Where can I found the recording of this pianoist?

  • Браво!

  • Thanks larpurdu, very nice. The only thing I dislike is having to hear it chopped......off to get the other protion. Thanks Again.

  • Bravo!

I enjoyed this recording very much, though I do prefer the other, more famous recording.

I thought the Dynamic Contrast was excellent - the players did quite a good job on collaborating, being quiet when there was a solo, etc, etc.

One thing that I didn't really like was that the recording was cut off. You should let the sound and the vibrato ring...when the applause starts, THEN cut off. But that was a small thing, and I enjoyed this recording very much.

  • This is a lovely production, nicely edited, nice lighting, nice everything really and a beautiful performance captured...thx for the (vars) posts ;D Good for showing students.

  • Primoso, Excelente!!!!!!

  • Mm. I loved that one first - I feel like this is 'the next generation' along...there will be many more after this and I can't wait to hear them; they're probably still assembling in the various music schools around the world!

  • Amazing, Miss Ursuleasa is really an amazing pianist. My favourite interpretation of this piece. Bravo!

  • She makes that beautiful piano sing, eh?!

  • Yes she is wonderful. Best Truite piano I've heard so far :D, loved it!

  • Yeah she's brilliant.
