okay, can someone please help me understand this! Most people aren't born with 180 turnout, yet these little girls have 180 turnout and can sustain it! How is this possible? Don't you get 180 turnout with time?

@MimisaysRAWR Most of the girls in this video were born with 180 degree turnout. Those who were not probably started dancing very seriously at a very young age. Perfect turnout is likely the most important requirement for entrance into the Vaganova. Russians also have a far more complete understanding of turnout than most western teachers, and so are able to more effectively train it.

@almazdionysus That kind of bums me out then. I thought only a very small percentage of people had 180 turnout. I mean, I think I have good turnout, but I can't sustain it during an exercise :(

1) they are all so great they should be when they done principals in no time but because everybody is this good there are just a few who can become a principal.

Second girl from the left is dangerously flexible. Of course, she's probably trained to be aware of the dangers of her flexibility, but it's almost frightening to watch. Her battements to the side are so far behind her shoulder, and she beats with such force that she tilts off her standing leg. I'm simply in love with her neck and arms.

I agree, Ilyaballet's videos are presented much nicer.

Ilyaballet's videos are much better as they run in order. AmericanCinemaBallet's class would be the strangest class ever with allegro in the centre, point work also in the centre, then back to the barre. Videos are nice and the dancing is lovely but arranging the exercises so the numbers run as they are danced would have been nice
