today was my firefighting meeting and right in the middle the sirens went off..i had no equipment..either way i went out there and was raking embers back into the fire i just about passed out from the fumes but we got it done but my leg is burnt a little o well i guess extra crispy is better than raw :D

Do firefighters who train for stucture fires also train for forest/brush fires? And do firest/brush firefighters also train for structure fires? I've always wondered that.

Departments in an Urban / Wildland interface are cross trained for both structure and vegetation fires.

What you see being dropped from planes is fire retardant or "Foscheck". It is a mixture of water and fertilizer, which is dyed red.

Hey man, if your a firefighter than THANKYOU! ive been evacuated before, its no fun, and you guys try as hard as is humanly possible to save lives first, and material possesions second. tell me your station number and when im rich im going to donate money to firefighters accross the entire state because they deserve to be payed WAY more. again, thankyou, you guys saved my aunts house back in 2000 or so, another one of the "bad" fire years, as if none are bad. I pray for you guys tonight!

Amazing. I hope that one house was left safe from the fire. At the end there, the firefighters were aiming the water towards the top of the fire which seems kind of useless... aren't you supposed to aim water and fire extinguishers at the base of the fire? Anyway, cool footage!

I was a little cautious....The wind was not blowing like it could, so it wasnt so bad. I was worried more about my car and being able to get back to it in time in case it blew up around or toward me.
