1. emo is a style of music. scene is the style you are thinking. a scenester is someone who dresses like the members of underground bands of the hardcore scene. hence scene. the word emo is short for emotional. an emo is an emotional scenester. but emo is a style of music that should not be interchanged with 'depressed scene kid'
