It would seem that many stocks trigger buy and sell signals each day. How do you decide which one's to take out of the many that trigger? My biggest problem when I was day trading stocks as opposed to the indexes (which I now trade) is that I would take the trade in some, not others, an one's I took did not move much or lost, and the ones I didn't take were the big winners. It happened continuously.
What platform are you using? I currently have an account with scottrade and daytrade options are pretty complicated. What do you recommend ? Which software or broker can we go by ?
They are using Goldman Sach's Redi+....Its really hard to get from what ive heard...I would recommend you go to a direct-access broker if you plan on day trading...Best one out there by a consensus is lightspeed trading...they have a great platform...There are some others like of coarse GS, then there r others like nobletrading, Interactive brokers,etc...But im pretty sure everyone would agree lightspeed is the best out there (only 0.40Cents per 100 shares traded, $4 for every 1000)..
A lot of beginner traders and want to be traders dont realize that losing days are part of the business and the way you cope with them or limit them could be a deciding factor on whether you will be successful or not. Thank you for sharing these.
8-18-08 I purchased 2 goog in a sharebuilder account. I transferred them to zecco on 3-2-09. If I sell them today will they be taxed long term gain or short term gain? Does the purchase date start over when I transferred the stock??
i'm glad my 1st direct access is Lightspeed. If Steve & Andy are using it, can't go wrong :)

I believe as Rocky Balboa said " it's not how good you are at hitting, it's how well you can take a punch" something to that effect.
