  • @plzdonhack i think it was a compaq - still a cheap crap computer

  • might not have a screen but at least your computer will be defragged

  • @80stvfan09

you stupid this happens all the time including to my computer which my cat fell on ):

  • Liquid wont spill out. Theres like 0.1mm think liquid that has the consistency of gel.

  • lol das defragmentiren war ihn wohl so langweilig das er das ding zerdeppert hatt^^

  • It has no liquid in them. Plasma has only gas.

  • Remind me never to give you any gifts.

  • That wasn't a magnet, that was his finger.

  • i used a magnet to the hard drive, which you can't see in this video. putting a magnet to an lcd screen doesn't really do anything, but poking it with my finger had some interesting effects

  • Its easier to convert a flat square CRT monitor into a LCD, just by opening a little space in the wall of your room with a strong hammer. Be careful with the electrical wires and water pipes ! You can also do that by adapting your T.V. rack with a frontal dark glass with a black frame to hide the tube box inside! You can make it cheep and the effect is great!

  • This is a plus to LCDs. If this really happened on a laptop, you could see enough to save and shut down unlike a CRT where if it has a little crack no image.

  • What i don't get is how it still has a viewable image. all my experience with busted LCDs is a nice tye-dye look but no image or it's all white?

  • it depends where and how you break it

  • a sledgehammer handle fell on mine in the top left corner right where the new tab button would be how could i fix it it divides my screen in half

  • i hope your being sarcastic lol

  • actually im not being sarcastic its actually divided into 3rds now no joke

  • Since when is an LCD affected by magnets?

  • I put the magnet to he hdd, not lcd. and all electronics are affected by magnets in some way, but most like a screen isn't going to show much effect

  • @schmidtbag HDDs are not effected by big magnets unless you dismantle them and rub the platters with the magnets.

  • LCDs produce a electromagnetic field, which sounds verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry high pitched sound.

  • that is very dangerous, you may wanna get checked for mercury poisoning

  • nothing leaked out, and i didn't touch the cracks much. also, its called LCD because its liquid crystal, not mercury. the backlight (which is a flourescent tube, similar to a crt) contains mercury in it and as you can see, the screen is still lit. the screen was about a 12", more or less, so whether that small tube inside did break, there'd be very little mercury in it, and out of my reach. eating fish after several years would do more mercury damage than this. thanks for the concern though

  • You need a shitload of mercury and a shitload of exposure to it to be harmed by it.

  • Unless youre just popping open thermometers and drinking them, youll be fine.

    lol

  • Mercury is quite safe to drink :) Its just unsafe to inhale its steam. Since mercury is slowly evaporating at room temperature, you're hurting yourself even without touching it :)

  • what? very little mercury can harm you, it wont kill you but it'll sure hurt you forever
