People have to realize, players have there roles. J-Roll is someone you expect to hit for an average. Howard isnt the type of player that will hit .300, but WILL have 40 HR maybe 100 RBI

The most important statistic for a 3 or 4 batter is RBI. People obsess over average, but they shouldn't. A player who gets 180 hits out of 600 at bats hits .300. A player who gets 150 hits in 600 at bats hits . 250. That's 30 hits over an entire season. Average is overrated. Howard is the game's top run producer and he ought to win MVP this year, again.

1. 13/28 (almost half) of his HRs have come on the road, so theres no reason to assume he's being helped by a smaller stadium. when he hits them, they go out.

3. his avg and strikeouts might not be that good, but at the end of the day all that matters is producing runs. he does that. end of story.
