think a few people are missing the fact it states 'some scenes were changed due to dramatic effect' or whatever so not all of it was correct but I still thought it gave us a pretty good idea of how the whole thing went down!

@ 1:40, the most important play(?) by Canada was executed by The # 1 Moron on Team Canada, Bobby Clarke. So far on this Vid. there are 18 comments, & not one mention of it.

A similar hack, to Yak', by Goldsworthy, rendered two of the best Soviet players down to the level of Team Canada. Therefore, with out those classic plays by Can., (& quite a few more),the rightful winners would have been the Soviets, & therefor would have put their system (Socialism) ahead of Capitalism,..interesting!!

@ct368 Clarke got Valery Kharlamov & Goldsworthy got Yakushev, (not as well kown). Kharlamov was a marked man in a few encounters with the N/A Maulers, before he died in an auto accident along with his wife, Aug. 1981.

His son was suppose to be better than him, but he came to N/A too soon & they (N/A Maulers), pounded the shit out of him, with (as usual) the officials watching

@hanksnow2 It was Valery Kharlamov, said to be the greatest player of that time. Yakachev was delt a similar blow by Goldsworthy, that rendered him to about 50%. Howerver all that wore CCCP were a target

The Russians @ that time were far & above anyone else @ hockey. Today things have changed. There r about 8 nations who can beat one another on a given day.

But, back then, Russia would have won all 8 with fair officiating.

@hanksnow2 you obviously didnt watch the series. The Russians had an 'inside' man referee FOR THEM (from east germany). game 6 canada had over 30 minutes of penalty time while the russian had only 2. And then they used the same ref for insurance in game 8. They pulled other tricks too like not lighting the goal light

For sure. There's video of Espo's rant all over the place; it wouldn't have taken much for the actor to have learned it all exactly as it was originally spoken. Overall, the movie wasn't bad, but they did include some things that really didn't happen, like the chandelier episode.

It's inaccurate to show the Vancouver fans booing them before the game started. It didn't happen until the 3rd period, when they were obviously going to lose.

@DickJohnson3434 Yes, I've seen that interview. I've also seen the game itself on DVD and there was no audible booing before the 3rd period. During the pre-game player intros, the Canadians were cheered, particularly F. Mahovlich, Cournoyer, and a couple others. There was no noticeable reaction at all when the Soviets were introduced.
