  • can't believe listners are putting her down for having a monitor! Good job, Alanis! I tried to memorize this song twice in my life & never did get all the way through it. It was disappointing that she didn't know all words to "Blowin' In The Wind." even though she sang it very well!

  • Perfect performance!!

Alanis is a true artist... a goddess!!

  • that was cool

  • This is Kristin Wiig doing Alanis, right?

  • nada a ver com o que ela canta... daqui a pouco ela ta apresentando programa infantil de novo ¬¬

  • she sings it with some sort of shyness, which is great.

  • nice!!!

  • Looks like Alanis had some plastic surgery. Compare this look to her look 10 years ago... looks like two differnt women. Don't get me wrong looks like it was worth every penny.......dam she is looking good in this video!

  • @sb2244 she just started styling her hair an wearing make...not plastic surgery .

  • @sb2244 I think she's just wearing make up?

  • Alanis Dylan! GOD!!!!

  • Ummmmmm.... Was that WODDY FUCKIN HASRRELSON in the audience? Who was at that thing? I really wanna know....

  • She should have made it less obvious that she's looking at the words on the little teleprompter down there by the speaker.

  • Look out, Kid. It's something you did: You can't do that on television! ♡

  • I know the words!!

  • I don't like her cover, but she has a great voice!

  • Great!!!

  • If I didn't know it any better, I would say Bob Dylan wrote Blowing in the Wind for Alanis' voice!

  • Oh fuck, that was cool.

  • Intense.

  • Pretty darn good when you considering the fact that I believe she was a last minute replacement for Dylan when he couldn't make it.

How may people could stand in front of a huge crowd singing songs you have had almost no time to practice. So she read the lyrics off a monitor.

If she's had a week to prepare, she may not have needed it. But if she got the call with an hour or two before the perfomance to do it, then she succeeded with class.

  • @phantomeagle Agreed. Didn't know the circumstance.

  • She rocks it. More important, she's having fun. YAYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • Nice rendition of Subterranean Homesick Blues, She's cute too!

  • who the hell is that presenter? !!! he is SEXY!!!

  • @BoricuaChiTown dermot o`leary

  • @BoricuaChiTown Dermot O Leary, AKA the most contrived and annoying man in British broadcasting

  • Gostei da primeira música, não gostei de Blowin' In The Wind na voz da Alanis.

  • A rimeira música eu gostei já a segunda, ficou horrível

  • SHB was okay, but I really liked BITW.

  • I think I like her cover better than the others (notably, Red Hot Chili Peppers' version.) Sounds good.

  • those legs.

  • 2:33 WOODY HARRELSON!

  • @DarumaXIV What I mean is I've had the opportunity to perform in front of an audience (I doubt seriously if you have)....reading or singing makes no difference. It's not easy and if you think it is, you've obviously not experienced it. Go post to someone about something you know about, please (that is, if you KNOW about anything). If you respond to this, it only proves your adolescent age...probably 12 or so.

  • @DarumaXIV I haveblocked and removed you and your anger issues from my channel.

#1-Poser....not "poseur" (this makes YOU a poser, btw)

#2-"f%#k you, you wannabe c&cksucker" = That is so original...and so like you, I suppose.

#3-Go learn about life and come back in, oh, 30 years or so after you've experienced something more than jr. high school.

#4-You can't piss me off. I don't know if you can stand THAT. I hope not.

  • @belikewater001 Whatever. What is it, Frenchy-Canadian or something (not that I really care)? I'm secure enough. No need to concern yourself.

dictionary-Poseur-French, from poser, to pose, from Old French ; see pose1 (This is an entirely correct FRENCH definition. Last time I checked, we are commenting in ENGLISH!)

dictionary-Poser-One who poses. A poseur.(This is the ENGLISH i.e. COMMON definition).

Insecure = involving yourself in a conversation that does not concern you. 8o

  • @technocrash09 All the best to you.

  • @belikewater001

    Same to you...for what it's worth 8)

  • @technocrash09 Her version is poor...it's jerky...and it's because she only half knows the song. .and she had to read it..Are you just simple? As for your performance anxiety issues: Just because you can't do something is no reason to think the rest of us share your failing(s).

  • @DarumaXIV Since I already mentioned Gee Gee and Saluna in a previous comment, it is obvious you only read what you want to read. If you are going to go after someone, you should know what you are talking about first. And I agree, Saluna does it MUCH better. She and her Dad do alot of songs better than some original artists, not just this one. I feel they should be more well known myself. BTW, you proved your age, therefore this conversation is relatively pointless.

  • @technocrash09 PS Watch GeeGee and Soluna's version you arrogant prick..(It's the girl in the red sweater on the right, there). She's 16 and she makes Alanis look like the poseur is was that night.

  • @DarumaXIV #1-You are the arrogant prick sending message after message to someone who doesn't give two shits about you (issues?)

#2-When I said "I couldn't do it", I was referring to that particular song. If you are that good, show us. I do not have "anxiety". I simply said it wasn't easy. Again, unless you speak from experience, STFU.

#3-If you read this entire comment string, you would see below that I am already quite aware of Gee Gee and his daughter *derp*

  • Jesus that woman has GOT to have the best set of lungs

  • Great video and sound! We don't expect to see Dylan's performance in such clarities on You Tube. Thanks a lot for the upload. I could easily spend an hour or so watching and learning to sing it. Mike. New Zealand.

  • @mmikechan cheers!

  • Miltitalented: ALANIS MORISETTE.

  • I never realized she was so pretty. Not hot, but very pretty.

  • For those of you who think Alanis had such a challenge that she had to read the lyrics, go to---Gee Gee & Soluna Subterranean Homesick Blues---on Tube (Dad and daughter duo). Excellent cover by these two with no reading, however the singer forgets the last verse and instead repeats the first one. Alanis does a fine job here...I know I couldn't do it. But go check these two out. One of the best covers I've heard (and I'm Dylan's age...I've heard alot of 'em)

  • *holds up signs with selected lyrics*

  • pete townshend!.

  • Hey she's reading it! but no sweat, I would too. and that's Pete Townsend at 2.35. Shame the Dylan origanal is missing, by far the best version.

  • What a great cover of SHB...fantastic!

  • i dont care i think i would have to read the words to this song. watch the orgingal video he had hard time keep up with his own words

  • Love Dylan and love Alanis, but she butchered subterranean.

  • @rynox77 That's not only a fact, but every time she plays a harmonica I am reminded why Alanis shouldn't pretend to know how to play one.

  • I guess the guitar player worships the elephant god.

  • @mjazzguitar LOL

  • Alanis es una gran cantante pero si LEE las letras de canciones que son más famosa que ella misma, entonces no vale madre!! ahha

  • Everytime Alanis attempts to play a harmonica I want to vomit. Outside of that- It was alright.

  • Comment removed

  • @ChristiansTheory The harmonica part in the original version is not any better, so do not criticize her that much, anyways it sounds pretty good for that song!

  • Great!!!! love this ;)

  • Loooove this Alanis!!

  • I saw Bob Dylan last year in Chicago and he is a truly genius, but I don't thin this cover is that bad. Obviously Bob Dylan is a legend, but Alanis is also good

  • She 's reading lines froman autocue, but the harmonica makes up for that. The 1st rapsong ever internantionally distributed. I love the Chilli Pepper's version as well. Turned it to rap of their time. I know it by heart without ever having made an effort. Just the words and images fell right into my head because they felt rtight.

  • Pete Townshend is the best !

  • i liked it.

  • No one can touch this song other than Robert Zimmerman!

  • WoW Bbbbbbbbb xB-)x

  • wow this is bad i think this song can only be sung by dylan for it to be cool

  • Very cool.

  • I don't really like the fact that she is reading the lyrics. Kinda takes the feeling and the meaning out of the song. This isn't Karaoke

  • @maryvale89 You try singing the entire song in front of that many people without reading the lyrics. I'm sure you'd fuck it up royally.

  • @CainmosniMirrored Yeah well this ain't about me. If she couldn't sing it with out the teleprompter than maybe she shouldn't have performed it.

  • @maryvale89 There are quite a few performers that need to use teleprompters, for their OWN songs and there is nothing wrong with it. And don't try to push aside the fact that you couldn't sing this without reading it. Until you can just shut the fuck up.

  • @CainmosniMirrored Well, maybe that's a problem. Shouldn't a song you're performing mean enough to you for you to know exactly what you're singing and why you're singing it?

  • @jaxstream shutup

  • @sublimeruca27 You're mad because I'm right.

  • She's reading the lyrics.

  • allanis..

  • Shania di it as well?

  • she's reading the words, but who can blame her - imagine fucking that up - easy to do.

  • it much better then rhcp version

  • u sir are fucked in the head. bob dylan is one of the best singer / songwriters in the world. it is possible u dont like the style but that just means u have no taste at all

  • She looks really good here

  • Brilliant versions of two great songs, by the great music guru. loved them. Alanis sings beautifully, harmonica wonderful too.

I have no idea how many times I have listened to these songs and sung along myself I would need the words on a screen too!

  • as much as I like alanis... this song can only be sung by Bobby

  • No one in the world can make a cover of Subterranean Homesick Blues. It just makes sense when Dylan sings it. This version is too slow.

  • Every so-called expert on here has an opinion, hilarious. We all have different versions of songs we like, she did a freakin' amazing job, IMHO. I appreciate that someone else may not like her version, that's fine, but to complain that she was reading off a screen, is beyond petty....sad bunch. As for her skills on the harp, if you had "any" knowledge of the harmonica or any musical knowledge at all, you'd know that she was hitting the notes & knew what she was doing, the girl can free reed

  • pretty bad, but not nearly as terrible as the red hot chili pepper version.

  • @catmann3 nah its a good song, its more of a tribute to the lyrics than a cover.

  • ok now its goin through me she think shes good lol try to play hormonica pml everbody watch her face she loving it and its shit pml pml lmao

  • I love Alanis and I enjoy this performance, BUT...she is reading the lyrics from a monitor....just how is this different from karaoke?

  • This is just strange to me... It doesn't work for me.

  • Comment removed

  • Give her a break, it aint an easy song to know the words to

  • i dont think shes looking at anything. ive noticed that in every video of her live she NEVER looks into the audience for more than 10 seconds. its just an odd habit of hers.

  • when you're on a stage you don't really see the audience anyways, all you see are lights

  • you can also see a monitor at her feet.....i'm thinking she had difficulty remembering the words so the monitor is displaying them for her like kareoke.....not that there's anything wrong with that. it doesn't seem like the easiest thing song in the world to memorize.

  • i liked her version of blowing in the wind much better than bob's. Although truthfully i've always hated that song, worst song on freewheelin'.

  • there both god. there original. just because they play diferent style doesnt mean that that one is more of an artist than the other. to tell the truth instrumentally dylan was a little cliche, except for a few songs, but his singing made up for that. besides for an uptempo version thechili peppers did well

  • bob dylan is the best..this is good, almost great compared to red hot chilipeppers butch on it...

  • they suck. dylan is an artist. there just a couple of punks.

  • Damn right.

  • give your head a shake u daft bastard, bob dylan is a legend

  • @makexmexgolden

It's all a matter of taste, you like him, others don't.. Personally, I think dylan is a half decent writer, but the guy sounds like a cat coughing up a fur ball when he sings. Definitely in the top 5 worst singers of all time. But again, it's all relative, I think from the late 60's and early 70's that CCR wrote and recorded some of the best all time songs.......obviously that's my opinion and not eveyone is going to feel the same way.

  • she's so sweet

  • Subterranean Homesick Blues-terrible cover... Blowin In' The Wind-very nicely done

  • I agree she shouldnt have tried to play the harmonica in it, but at least she attempted to make it different to Dylan's version, but still isn't a good version at all

  • she's hot but she cant do this song justice

  • Agree, but there is only one man who can do this song justice.

  • ...

  • Subterranean Homesick Blues - only Bob can sing this FUNNY song

Blowin' in the wind - Alanis is ok

  • she has an autocue :/

  • everyone should read...sing...and breathe dylan ! this be great !

  • 4 09.... that guy has a pic of Lord Ganesh on his guitar.. thats new!

Love Alanis.. she should sort of stay away from the harmonica though... except for hand in my pocket

  • Check out her new album with tracks like: "Citizen of the Planet, Versions of Violence and Break. She has plenty of Fire. Dylan isn't really known for fire y'know more like insight.

  • fuckin amazin like anything shes ever done luv ya loads

  • genial :D misto ambele versiuni

  • The version of Subterranean Homesick Blues really sucked. But Blowin' In The Wind was great.
