There are TONS of examples of covers outperforming their authors, just ask Aretha Franklin's versions of ANYTHING usually kills, Cockers version of "a little help from my friends" Houstons interpretation of the National Anthem, Pavarotti &James Brown version of "It's a Mans World" you just can't toss out covers because you feel slighted, that's NOTmusic my friend. Even insanity like Yoko Ono's stuff deserves a luk, WELL? Maybe NOT:D It's all just opinion so RELAX! :)

I think her cover is good, and she's a very talented singer, but the original version is much better. Her cover shows what she can do with her voice, but there is no real emotion in it like the original version has. Same with her "cover of "Hurt". It sounds very good, and her voice is outstanding, but it doesn't reach the original of NIN.

He said in some interviews that he wrote it in a very bad time of his life, and the "light up" means he hopes things get better (a light at the end of the tunnel). So this song is very personal to him.

Anders als bei Leona Lewis spürt man bei Gary Lightbody die gesamte Wehmut im Song und in der Tonation seiner Stimme. Leona singt den Song toll, aber es wirkt aufgesetzt, fast schon künstlich.
