Though the "gun" trick is pretty cool, the Precise V5 is superior in a number of ways. It's lighter, more chic, writes more smoothly, allowing for fluidity and control, and has a finer, more precise point--no pen comes anywhere close for handwriting, signing, or drawing for that visceral and singular style waiting to be discovered in each individual user's hand. What's more, while the G2 may be readily convertible into a short range minor nuisance of a gun, the V5 comes ready-to-use as a shiv.

@dennisdeslager0 in my opinion, it's great! Has smooth writing. I use it to write and draw. And I have no problem. It's the only pen I buy!

Pilot gel pens are horrible. I love their fountain pens, the Varsity disposable ones and the more expensive models. I also love their rollerball pens. But Pilot just does a very bad job with gel ink pens. They skip, and when they're not skipping, they don't feel as smooth. For a good gel pen, go with Uni-Ball or Zebra. Those are the best economically priced gel pens I could find. Plus Uni-Ball has archival quality ink that can't be washed away -- it's the safest ink for check writing.
