thinking of applying to psu? i know the place really well. sure, applications go way up in good football years. if football is all you want, psu is your place. but if you want something more from college, look again. this is a land grant school that has mostlt turned its back on ordinary pennsylvanians to fill the seats with wealthier ny & nj kids. you can do a lot better than this elsewhere. think it over.
It is a big Penn State tradition to have a Beaver Canyon Riot after a huge victory. This one is tame compared to the 1990 Riot after we crushed Notre Dame. Burned up a CATA bus in that one.
Because that is so cool to do. Forget that a fire could spread people could get hurt and that other people live in State College. Like me and my 10 year old son. Who if we would have left any later for my parents home would have been caught in the middle of this. Celebrating is fine. Destroying public property is disrespectful, irresponsible, and stupid. Students should be thank full no one was seriously hurt or killed.

And no I don't think the crowd was just waiting to pounce on your unsuspecting 10 year old. They are out to cheer not murder. Destroying stuff is stupid I agree but stop acting like they were about to start WWIII. Let's also not forget that you could easily turn off this street well before going into it.

Ahhhh...Beaver Canyon. Used to work security there Cedarbrook, Alexander Court, Beaver Hill, and the Dip.
Remenber a great riot in which Superman came rollerblading down the hill with ski poles. Pepper spray ended the evening as usual....
