They seem to be more into instrumentals and making mellow songs now a days... whitch i think is cool

in the 80's Thurston was kinda in control of the band , making noisy / hardcore punk sounding songs.

in the 90's Kim kinda took control of the band and they made more punky / poetry kinda songs.

in the 2000's Lee & Jim O'Rourke had alot to do with the direction of where it was going... making mellow instrumentals.

Either way , it all sounds just as good as it did in 1986.

he's fiddling with the rate toggle on his delay pedal. as the speed goes up, so does the pitch. you can get the same effect with heavy delay on while you slide up the low E string then pull the whammy bar up as far as you can.

The pedal used the most for those kind of effects is the Electro Harmonix "Memory Man"

In fact Electro Harmonix have since released a version of the "memory man" spicifically for such pitchbending use. The "Memory man steroe with Hazarai"

Lee is using a custom pedal build for him called the Antenna Box. it was made by Matt Zivich. Im pretty sure he only uses it for this one song.

probably an echo-pedal miming old style tape echo. Originally you got the same effect from e.g. Roland space echo and so on. These days you get pedals doing a pretty good impression of that. just set the repeat button to max (+/-) and toggle the speed...

Just answering your question gab123 the pedals that Lee is using is a DOD 2-Second Delay and an Antennabox which is actually an Ibanez AD-80 delay specially modified by Matt Zivich.
