Standard Dinos had way more power than a 356 (Ferrari started making them long after Porsche had discontinued the 356); yet both these seemed evenly matched. Good driving roads.

That may be true, but there is a big difference between a European version and a US version 246. The European version 246 is significantly lighter, and the engine is more powerful with a lot more torque. It may not have the top speed of a Daytona, but it handles better and it will hold its own on a twisting road.

Porsche won the French Grand Prix in 1962, their only ever race win... Ferry Porsche really wasnt ever interested in F1.

"all that matters" in...what? Porsche is about GT cars, not F1. besides, how many F1 cars can you buy for everyday road use? No marque has dominated auto racing overall as has Porsche. Porsche's have even won offroad races like Dakar and Pike's Peak. Porsche has been offering full-on race versions of it's cars to customers since 1973 if not earlier. The 911 is the most instantly recognizable sports car in the world. And unlike Ferrari's and other exotics, just about anyone can afford to buy one.

I'd have to disagree with the most elagant classic car of all time comment. Don't get me wrong the Dino is sexy as hell but IMO that label belongs to the Lambo Miura.

The 308 Dino (GT4) is not-so-elegant while - on the other hand - Ferrari 246GT Dino is a beauty (which is the one shown on the clip).
