@ROOSTER1067 I know what you mean man. I had my speed triple for a year and 3 months so far and i put roughly 15k miles on it so far. I truly adore Triumphs especially the Speed Triples.
hahaha, yeah.. I only got to ride mine for about 50 miles, but the power & torque i felt were just insane. I had absolutely no need to keep shifting between gears. and the stator and rectifier's being replaced; hope there are no more problems with her.
@gurg212 you were unluck with it breaking cos the engine is a carry over from the last model and they were relible but i bet it will be great when fixed, you will be over whelmed by the power even more then a train and in any gear
AAhh, that sweet , sweet melody.. I just got mine (a new 2010 speedy) yesterday. The first time I rode it, i didn't know about the rev limiter, and was wondering "WTF, why are the red lights coming on at 3500 rpm?? is something wrong with her??" :) found out from the dealer later that they're just to warn me.. I had a lot of trouble from her yesterday though; the she completely died out on the way home - out of gas and after fueling up, she won;t start. tried jump starting her, but no hope.
@ROOSTER1067 Hmm.. she's being looked at today. Hope I get her tomorrow. Had a question - after completing, say 100 miles, do i HAVE to adjust the shift lights to turn on at 5000 rpm, or is it ok if I just leave them as they are and still shift at 5000rpm ? i guess my question is, do the adjustments you're making actually affect the engine, or are they just to remind you of when to shift?
@gurg212 it just alters when the light comes to shift up,i think i set mine to about 8500 but i realy see it come on because there is not much need for me to rev it that hard because there is so much power below that figure and still pulls like hell in top gear,
@ROOSTER1067 Hell yeah!! I finally got her back today and know exactly what you're talking about. /it's the feeling that there's unlimited power when you twist the throttle; it's such a pity that there are speed limits and traffic everywhere :) need to fit a flyscreen for the wind though.
@gurg212 there is no need to be at any pictular revs or need to be in any powerband or not to let the revs drop to low like on a twin the power just every where and in any gear.the triumph screen dose a decent job
I didn't have the lap timer in my setup. So I have the same dash hardware but the 2010 have a different programming. Sure that Italians have not taken over Triumph?
Thanks. Nice. I have just got a new 2010 SE model, turns out it has the new dash, but the owners manual describes the old one. So I was a bit confused. I though this only happened with italian bikes. ;o)
@ROOSTER1067 Yes thanks I managed to set the shift light setting. Another one; is it possible to change between dark and light background in the display. How do you do it? I think I accidentally changed it so now I have dark display with light numbers :o(
@1050ccTriumph thanks, yeah its a good a bike not to heavy nice riding position loads of power everywhere even just off tick over .a big change from my ducati 748
I absolutely love the red for this bike. I have an 09 black speed triple and this bike looks incredible. Nicely done man.
