  • @zorrokun i'm sure our space from what appears semi pro and expert is smaller now. d7000 is all many of us need. go to... freedslr . com remove spaces and get an opportunity to win a Brand New Nikon D7000

  • Cameras aside, what a terrible shoot. The model doesn't know what she's doing, and the direction of the photographer is non-existent.

  • They're testing the camera alone, not the model's skills. There is no use/time for serious direction.

  • Ha-ha-ha... He trying to compare full color sensor with bayer, and looking for b/w parts ))))) Smart, very smart...

  • Its no use slagging Sigma, it is an alternative camera in a cookie cutter world, it isnt for everyone and certainly isnt for sports. It really is for artful and careful photography, something that seems to be unheard of in digital world where everything is done on the computer..later. It is a photographers camera.

  • Very nice! I love your pictures and videos!

  • just shot a few pics with nikon d700 in low light no flash did perty good. Im interested in sigma sd14 for price point what are its pros and cons.

  • I like that you include the tags naked and sex. LOL.

  • so what is the point here?the photo shooting are the camera?

  • If the camera is so good, then how come the price dropped down to $500? The 5D still sells for over $2000 dollars. Professional photographers never even heard about Sigma cameras...

  • The fact it is so cheap makes people rubbish it. Certain things the 5d can do better, others the sd14 excels at. The SD14 apparently reproduces color photos with a similar dynamic range to slide film. But the sigma wont have the build quality of the 5D, its auto focus is not as good, and its slow shooting raw. And many drawbacks not associated with the picture quality may be too significant for professional photographers to deal with, and outweigh the benefits of the sigma.

  • Build quality? Have you held a SD14? The build quality is fantastic.

  • Good to know, it was just an assumption.

Is the SD14 weatherproofed? I'm pretty sure the 5D is.

  • Let's make a decide. :)))

  • Ah just saw the make! Good ol Bowens. Prefer Elinchrom though

  • What lighting was being used?

  • hey, one question, the foveon sensor can be like the dual core processors in a computer ye? where even if a dual core has 1.8ghz, it can be better than the 3ghz single core, so... that being said, would it be correct to also say that the foveon sensor creates 14 mp on a photo, in a more effective way for color shots, but when black and white, because of the lack of need for different colors it uses less resolution, so therefore, there is 14 mp and they are more useable than a bayer sensors mp

  • Well, you will really get a upswing and boost if you change to a 5D. Just look what happend with resellers of the camera, just cost lika 2,500 dollars for a year ago, and right now it is quite a bit under 1,000 dollar. Al this when the outcome introduced.

    The SD-14 is a stiff.

  • can`t wait for sd15 ...

  • Sigma sd14 over iso200 totally sucks

il low light images are not acceptable,

    forget it

  • Druid my friend, you have no clue to what you're talking. :) Come here and I'll show you.

  • I agree with druid, maybe not tot that extent, but the noise on the canon far surpasses the sigma. The comments made on this video are verging on stupid, the shutter is cool but sounds old!?

This seems quite biased to me.

  • thanx for the video. very interesting!

  • How can jokers like this call themselves professional photographers, these are the type of idiots that give the industry a bad name, stop using them as a firm even if they are cheap.

  • Who are you talking to? What firm and who is cheap?

  • ...I just wonder how they can asses the sharpness of the picture from the camera display ...this is bullshit......

  • Well, on the SD14 you can actually see the pixel quality on the LCD - you can easily know if the shot was in precise focus or little off. (of course after zooming in to 100% or 200%) So, it's not bull. It's reality. Three layers makes a difference.

  • Oh so it gives 100% resolution quality on the LCD ... that is a great feature ....But as I know it is not coming from 3 layers...... layers give more dynamic range ....

  • It may only have 4.6 mp but it's three layers

  • The SD14 does have .14 Mp

  • Where in Aalborg do you say this is?

  • Not sure, in some industrial area, glass house. :) Not sure that helps. We're going to have a second session later this fall - if you're good in the studio we might let you in or if you're nice model. (or have your own look)

  • looks nice.. find my email on my site fluxbox. dk :-)

    andré

  • SD14 has 4.6 MP??? i thought it had 14??

  • It has three layers, so 4,6MP in each layer times three. :) It's about 14 million photosites, but the final output is still 4,6MP. Real MP. ;)

  • How about taking a course in videofilming and video editing?

  • Would you be the teacher?

  • Yes, but I live in Oslo!

  • Göteborg is so close! Let's see if my next trip to Oslo could include a meeting with you. :)

  • Why not.

  • Love the last shot. Framing is really good.

    Sam

  • This is the least scientific comparison "test" I have ever seen! "Rootbeer" (dpr) / JP

  • :D

  • Cool stuff... Will be getting a SD-14 as soon as I can afford one. That iso 100 shot on your website was super sharp!!

  • viral marketing at its most basic and worst.

  • Well, if a happy users love for a great tool is what you're referring to, then you're wrong. What are you afraid of? You own a 5D? :)

  • MMMMMM~~~~~it's very nice! Carl!
