before you go accusing rock band of stealing any ideas, they didn't. Get your facts straight. First Rock Band is made from Harmonix, the original producers of GH. They owned GH right all they way up to GH2 or GH80;s don't know which was last. Activision (neversoft) then purchased guitar hero from Harmonix and made GH3. Harmonix then went on to make Rock Band. Nobody stole anybody's ideas b/c Harmonix was the one who began with GH and separated when Activision didn't want to branch out.

I prefer Guitar Hero, mainly because it was the first music game I got, but also, hammer-ons and pull offs are easier to see on GH, usually has more music fit to my styles and just a generally fun game, and before anybody says anything, I do own all versions of both games, GH: WoR is my favourite out of them all.

GH's guitar is more realistic, and its a LOT easier to strum a pattern of notes with it than to use RB's guitar, try playing Battery on RB2 and then try it on GH, the triplets are almost impossible to hit because of the gay ass silencer thing.

Rock Band pretty much took an idea and made it better, so it isn't stealing Guitar Hero's idea. Also, certain parts of the game play is different such as the story line. In Guitar Hero you would choose the song and place you would play, and your options were pretty wide. In Rock Band, you choose the city, location and song, but you can only choose pre-selected songs. I prefer Rock Band because the graphics are better and it has more songs I am familiar with. This is MY opinion.

i think rockband wins in every instrument expect for sining which i think are similar to both games. i own alot of guitar heros and i own 2 rockbands but rockband disc has better music that suits me, and i have over 400 dlc that keeps me going in that game, plus the 55 songs from rockband1, i have about 4 guitar heros and they dont even add up to 400 songs. rockband has better looks too. my overall rockband > guitarhero, gh3 was good, but only while it lasted.

Here is why Rock Band is better: It has artists that Guitar Hero doesn't have such as AC/DC and The Grateful Dead. It was the first ever full band video game. It's also got The Beatles. Plus, the guitar controller has a kill switch. And it will let you know when you are doing a solo. It's also best for families because of its simple gameplay (except for Thrasher. *shudders*). And you can play percussion notes for vocals. So, there.
GH created WT because they were jealous of RB. Once they found out that RB was a cool, original idea, they took the design and changed it a BIT to make it seem that it was original. They were to stupid to come up it by themselves. Anybody who talks back about this is a little, immature kid who thinks GH is cool because they said so. Don't go on talking about age, my cousin is 10 and he likes RB better than GH and he played both, it's the mind! ROCK BAND 2 IS THE BEST (i just saved you $200).

@MrNasoor1 if i was you i wold buy band hero or wait till guitar hero 6. but of those two i think you should buy rock band. but keep in mind that if you buy rock band you have a lot less games to buy afterwards. becouse there are only 2 rock bands, and a third one to come. but if you buy guitar hero you can buy a lot more games of the series.

i have the guitar hero on ps3 and rock band on the xbox and i have to say the music is better in rock band because they have thought of the songs, unlike guitar hero it seems like they have shoved aload of random rock songs on the game. but guitar hero gameplay is better, however thetre r notes on some guitar hero songs that should not even b there wich is stupid... so i think rock band wins!!

Rock Band pretty much took an idea and made it better, so it isn't stealing Guitar Hero's idea. Also, certain parts of the game play is different such as the story line. In Guitar Hero you would choose the song and place you would play, and your options were pretty wide. In Rock Band, you choose the city, location and song, but you can only choose pre-selected songs. I prefer Rock Band because the graphics are better and it has more songs I am familiar with. This is MY opinion.

i don't know many expert players who prefer guitar hero anymore. i know a bunch of idiot kids who think guitar hero is better because of through the fire and flames. but that's fine, because "i" prefer to play with people who aren't idiots. guitar hero world tour was one of the biggest failures i ever played in a guitar game, it was so horrible so many things were wrong about it i can list forever. vox,drums,boring bass career,shitty setlist, horrible achievements, multiplayer = COMPLETE FAIL

i think rockband wins in every instrument expect for sining which i think are similar to both games. i own alot of guitar heros and i own 2 rockbands but rockband disc has better music that suits me, and i have over 400 dlc that keeps me going in that game, plus the 55 songs from rockband1, i have about 4 guitar heros and they dont even add up to 400 songs. rockband has better looks too. my overall rockband > guitarhero, gh3 was good, but only while it lasted.

Here is why Rock Band is better: It has artists that Guitar Hero doesn't have such as AC/DC and The Grateful Dead. It was the first ever full band video game. It's also got The Beatles. Plus, the guitar controller has a kill switch. And it will let you know when you are doing a solo. It's also best for families because of its simple gameplay (except for Thrasher. *shudders*). And you can play percussion notes for vocals. So, there.

GH created WT because they were jealous of RB. Once they found out that RB was a cool, original idea, they took the design and changed it a BIT to make it seem that it was original. They were to stupid to come up it by themselves. Anybody who talks back about this is a little, immature kid who thinks GH is cool because they said so. Don't go on talking about age, my cousin is 10 and he likes RB better than GH and he played both, it's the mind! ROCK BAND 2 IS THE BEST (i just saved you $200).

RB : Better DLC
GH : Better Charts
RB : More Fun to play (I think)
GH : Playable Rock Legends (Ozzy,Slash,Tom,Zakk,Billy,Sting,etc.)
RB : Added the new Instruments
I am for Guitar Hero, but that is because it was the first I played from both and I still do not have RB yet but I loooove it <3
