youtube needs to ease up on his copyright crap, cuz once i tried to make a my top 5 songs type of vid and they muted the audio on me saying it "matched 3rd party content" yet if you look around youtube you'll find the songs i used listed by other people and not muted, seriously WTF youtube, ease up on us
i have a queation i heard that putting a song on youtube without owner permission is not prohibitead waht about a portion of a song ex tye frieza ringtone full version,would that count as copyright?im ont sure?
If you put up a vid thats not yours on youtube, yes its copyright infringement. BUT if you put it in the description the whole DISCLAIMERS thing, u shouldnt get penalized for it. PLUS people arent stupid. I think they know whats yours and what belongs to an animator and or music artist. so stop taking off stupid videos that people even say isnt theirs and just uploaded it. WE KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A VID BY THE CREATOR AND A VID BY THE UPLOADER. THUMBS UP IF YOU AGREE

However, if you used EVEN ONE LITTLE THING that is protected by a copyright holder and you file a dispute, it can result in termination. Now...my vids are still up...but I see Youtube has "put back" the "see copyright info" AND re-added the blocks. There is no REAL explanation from them. This works for ALL Audio and only some video, like music videos and news films. But if its for something inappropriate like Racism against Africans then this won't work

And theslayerbrothers, I've not been sued, I don't know of anyone who's been sued, so I highly doubt they will sue. It's not just youtubes fault, it's mainly a company called WMG (i think) which i claiming a lot of the audios used.

No you cannot dispute again I'm afraid. But there's nothing to stop you uploading your video again but with less information (unless you don't have the file anymore). I did that with my halloween video and it's still up.

you said this is around the 6th time you received the copyright notice from youtube. Did you use option2 to submit a dispute every time? and out of that how many of your dispute were successful (the copyright no longer trying to have ur vid removed)

There are legitimate uses of music - someone videotaping a graduation where music is being played, a mom filming her toddler dancing in the kitchen, a short 25 second excerpt in a classroom video discussing music theory. But without a counter notice there is no easy way to protect these uses.
apparently a lot of videos are no longer being given the option to dispute either video removal or audio removal. this is a violation of the DMCA and can put Youtube's legal standing as an ISP in jeopardy. Please pass the word - Youtube's failure to offer a dispute option is a violation of federal law. They had better fix it.

I think if you are gonna upload it again don't mention the artist(s). When we give credit to the artists it seems now it just ends up with copyright stuff.
My This Is Halloween amv was copyrighted in under a minute of being uploaded but when I uploaded it again without mentioning Marilyn Manson well...it's still online, I've not had a copyright complaint, and I'm still online.
Well, it did not help. :( It won't let me upload because of the soundtrack of Brittany Murphy (even tough even she has not the full copyrights due its a cover version but thats another story. :)) It seems that they really do a music checkup due I had nothing in tags or comments that would point to the song or interpret used. So I think I will just not support any music of her again to be on the save site of the river. :)

WOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did exacrtly as you said...and the music was back up immediately....it was a simple private birthday "yt" card with a famous song on it....they disputed it and I disputed it back exactly as your directions indicated and the song was back on ! COOL! THANKS !

No you cannot dispute again I'm afraid. But there's nothing to stop you uploading your video again but with less information (unless you don't have the file anymore). I did that with my halloween video and it's still up.

*continues* As I've heard if you get too many copywrite claims they can axe you!! The second was worse, it was part of a storyline so had to remain without sound! Although I don't think they have yet restored it!

I wish I'd seen this before I had my copywrite claims..although the first time they claimed it was a different song to the one I was using, and when I disputed they still took my video off! The second time I lost audio on two that had been up for almost two years!!! Why now! I removed the one afraid of the other threat they can make of deleting your account.

Forgive me for bothering you, and if this has been asked before, but I have to ask - will this have a chance of working for AMVs as well? I know it worked for your Kiara video, but I was wondering if there were stricter regulations for anime music videos.

No there shouldn't be stricter regulations for anime music videos. It's the song the companies' complain about, not the visual stuff (unless you've uploaded a film/show)

well according to a comment made a couple of weeks ago 'a lot of videos are no longer being given the option to dispute either video removal or audio removal' but some people have said it's still working for them so thats one reason i've kept this information up.

oh my god I can't find the "resolve copyright" button! What do I do?? I had 5 of my AMVs affected by copyright and I wanna send a dispute claim!! But I just CAN'T find the Resolve Copyright!! No you shouldn't lose your account. I haven't and I've used this more than 5 or 6 times.
But at the moment, I'm not too sure what could happen. Things don't seem to be getting any better I'm afraid.

have artists forgotten what music is about? to be heard? to play for people and entertain them? When people use their music on youtube it is nothing but free advertisement for the artists.. I wonder what would happen if you actually called the artist in question and asked him very nicely. Next thing you know the numa numa man is sent to jail for life. well, okay I wouldn't mind.. but what would that song be without his video? just another fart on the radio-wave..

you said this is around the 6th time you received the copyright notice from youtube. Did you use option2 to submit a dispute every time? and out of that how many of your dispute were successful (the copyright no longer trying to have ur vid removed)

It is important to let others know that Youtube is violating federal laws by failing to offer the DMCA counter-notice process. There are legitimate uses of music - someone videotaping a graduation where music is being played, a mom filming her toddler dancing in the kitchen, a short 25 second excerpt in a classroom video discussing music theory. But without a counter notice there is no easy way to protect these uses.

apparently a lot of videos are no longer being given the option to dispute either video removal or audio removal. this is a violation of the DMCA and can put Youtube's legal standing as an ISP in jeopardy. Please pass the word - Youtube's failure to offer a dispute option is a violation of federal law. They had better fix it.

The only time it doesn't show up is when you have already sent one off as far as I'm aware.

I've had to of these things now, on the first one I swaped audio, on the second one I disputed it but I think I selected the wrong option, hope I don't get fined or my video removed it had quite a few views.

I have the same problem! How am I going to fix it? I can just re-upload, but I don't want to do that! :( I don't get why this company took off the audio for one of my videos. :( It isn't fair. They don't even own the rights to it! Naoko Takeuchi (The person that created Sailor Moon) and toei animation do! This makes me so mad! :(

1992SailorMoon - Try to keep the details of the audio very limited. I know some videos aren't putting the artist or the song in their tags/description and that seems to be working.

Click on 'Account' (next to your username) and see if there is a message near the top of the page about claims of copyright on any of your videos.

I think if you are gonna upload it again don't mention the artist(s). When we give credit to the artists it seems now it just ends up with copyright stuff.
My This Is Halloween amv was copyrighted in under a minute of being uploaded but when I uploaded it again without mentioning Marilyn Manson well...it's still online, I've not had a copyright complaint, and I'm still online.

Well, it did not help. :( It won't let me upload because of the soundtrack of Brittany Murphy (even tough even she has not the full copyrights due its a cover version but thats another story. :)) It seems that they really do a music checkup due I had nothing in tags or comments that would point to the song or interpret used. So I think I will just not support any music of her again to be on the save site of the river. :)
