Ridn't was only cruising in this race. His teammate John Miles was 8th on the same lap only about a minute and half behind, which shows he could have been a good driver with more aggression. Amon might also have won with a fraction more tiger, it was one of three grand prix's where he was second, missing victory by a few seconds. Jochen didn't like this circuit, but is magnificent through the mountains. The pits and safety are obviously shockingly inadequate even for then.
I don't understand one thing : those DVDs are still on sell now from DUKE. Those are not old TV documentarys that u can't find on shops.
If u'r really passionnate about motorsport, why do u put those videos here ! that's not fair, & surely not the way to thank the producers and all the crews that made those documentarys... shame
If u'd like to watch more new old motorsport era footage, please respect producers and filmakers work.
apparently most of the drivers said it was a nauseating circuit because it was so twisty. Rindt once said that the drivers would pull down their masks so they could let it all out on the side of the car
2:52 wow, lol. One of the most amazing F1's chassis ever used, late 60's early 70's. It's simplicity and the engine without any cover makes it GORGEOUS, you can see almost every thing, very rude and unique. Awesome upload!!! 10/10*
There were no slick tyres in Grand Prix racing in 1970. They didn't appear until '71. Dry-weather tyres, then, had a tiny, vestigial tread; just small, unconnected grooves.
Thank you very much for this upload. Reminds me of how motorsports should be.

Always liked the BRM in the Yardley colours, but they weren't very competitive.

Unbelievable! Fantastic circuit, cars and drivers.
But dangerous, very dangerous, there were no escape routes.
The public is beside the runway.
As Graham Hill said: "Driving at this time was like taking a bath in a bathtub full of gasoline smoking a cigar."

great respect to all the drivers who dare to hurtle down and up these serpentines at full speed! This track is more thrilling than Nordschleife

Great video. I was there that day . . . right opposite the pits.

Damals fuhr die Formel 1 noch auf Landstraßen und die Zuschaue waren ganz dicht an der Strecke. Das DSF sollte mehr Sport zeigen.
