I'm neutral on Katy Perry. The problem isthat it's a small stage and a big number. It's meant to be larger than life to parody the lifestyle out there and you really can't squeeze it onto that stage. I think a different song would solve the problem; maybe a ballad if she has one; I confess I don't know. Her other number was cute, as is she - very sexy,sweet and watchable, whatever you think of her singing, which in the 2 or 3 numbers I've heard is quite list-enable if you care for her genre.

Some day's they sound perfect and others well, like this. I'm just sayin don't judge her based on this one performance. I've been to one of her shows and she was so much better than this performance.

On sesame street , Katy Perry's chest looks five sizes smaller than on SNL and she has no padding or bra with the now infamous dress apart from the small bustier top. Perry looked modestly endowed, a small US C cup (UK D) on the telly show. So how does Katy Perry jump five cup sizes in two weeks? Does Katy Perry stuff her brasserie? Does Katy Perry often wear falsies?

@stellagranos72 I beg to differ, I've seen quite a few videos of her live performances, she sings in tune. Maybe her tone is throwing you off so you think she's out of tune (or maybe you have a bias against pop and think no pop singer could possibly be able to sing). In this, you can barely hear the drums, the bass is almost non-existent, and her mic level is unbalanced. She did have a couple sour notes near the end, but whatever. And I don't know how she does those vocal jumps so easily.

I have no bias against pop singers as I love pop music. Howwever, your standards must be pretty low if you think Katy Perry sounds good. And those vocal jumps of which you speak are not exactly Christina Aguilera-type vocal acrobatics. And by the way - if someone's tone is off, then yes, that means they are off-key.

But I've grown to appreciate her for what she is. I don't listen to her much in my spare time, but I can at least admit she's got talent. She should be more respected for her songwriting than her singing, of course.

"Aguilera" vocal runs does not mean good singing. Those jumps are hard to hit clean.
