  • J'aime! <3

  • Flotte et flame

    Au fil de mes caresses

    Touche-moi, donne- moi

    Jusqu' a ton ivresse

    Fleet and flank

    During my caresses

    Touch me, give me

    Until your rapture

Why is everything more romantic in French???

  • @RedRosesLast4eva Easy bro, this french song is written in rhymes, wich make it soud better.

  • IS THERE ANYWHERE I CAN FIND THE FRENCH VERSION OF THIS SOUNDTRACK!?!?!?!?

  • "Promets-moi que tu paieras ce prix...."

That line always makes my heart melt.

  • this is beautiful! i could get lost in a voice like this...

  • I just figured out the subtitles option last night when I put this in French... And I'd been searching for the French lyrics for the longest time. :D ROFL Silly me!

  • Gerard Butler is pretty, but a I'll take a professional singer any day.

  • I LOVE watching this film in Fench! Its so much more beautiful and suits the aroma alot better.

  • Gawd the lyrics are so much prettier in French.

"la nuit ne chante que pour toi" ... the night sings only for you... *so beautiful*

  • Magnifique, sublime ! Il n'y a pas de mots !

  • I'm sorry, I'm french and i love this version. We don't have may singers able to sing this kind of songs, and Laurent Bàn is one of the greatest one. Sensibility, emotion, beautiful voice and interpretation. The only problem is about the adaptation...but hard for this kind of production.

    Bravo to the french phantom.

  • Sorry for him but I don't like this version. I'm french and I don't like it ! He isn't in his caracter and his voice isn't too. Sorry but it's not my favourite.

  • OMG SOMEBODY ELSE COMMENT!

  • okay, everyone, to get the translated lyrics, get the DVD, and watch this in French with French subtitles. Have a laptop open to a French English translator. Pause every time new subtitles come on, and put typr in the translator. USE ACCENT MARKS OR IT WILL BE USELESS. option key+ i + letter you want under mark= ˆ with other letter.

option key + e + letter you want under mark= ´ with other letter.

option key+q=œ Option key+ the key w/ ` and ~+ letter you want under mark=` with other letter. :D

  • He sounds a bit more seductive in French... a little sweeter in English... both are beautiful songs that I cannot stop listening to. :D Go Phantom! <3<3

  • "La nuit, fois tu ne chante que pour toi" which is basically "the night sings only for you" makes me go kinda weak in the knees.

  • @Lostaddictphangrrl I goofed. it's not fois tu chante que pour toi. I'm pretty sure it's "La nuit sois-tu ne chante que pour toi.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lostaddictphangrrl okay...I have heard that it's vois-tu, not sois-tu, which makes much more sense :D sorry.

  • This is enough to make me swoon. I translated this, and it's beautiful, once you change the pronouns and stuff to make it make sense. At "Si belle et sans défénce" his expression makes me feel dizzy, and my heart melts. Go Phantom!

  • my girlfriend melted when i sang this to her in french. i love this song

  • He sounds even more amazing in French!

    ~I love Eric!

  • Totally mesmerized at 2:50. It's like his voice turned into a perfect musical instrument.

  • can i please get the soundtrack, j'aime trop cette chanson

  • the french soundtrack? if you want it, i can make mp3s for the songs

  • that would be great, thank you so much

  • only problem is wit that is i can only convert songs i get off youtube, so far this is the only one i know of but ill continue to look. until then ill send you a link to download

  • ok thank you

  • Yes it is Laurent Ban

he has a beautiful voice, and the lyrics...

the french version is so beautiful because i think this song is a lovesong, and french is the language of the love...

  • ose ouvrir ton coeur...... shuc a beautiful line! god i love french!

  • amazing

  • I'm starting to notice a lot of similarities between french, english, and spanish! French is a beautiful language!

This singer is fantastic! He sounds sooo seductive!

  • @TheChristianFairy I know, he's just so.... hypnotizing. And 45% of english words came from french ones!

  • Did they release French soundtracks of the movie? In Asia the DVD and the CD only has English.

  • Pouvez vous m'envoyer cette chanson

  • his voice is actually very similiar to gerard butler's. if i didnt know any bettter, id think it was gerard butler singing it himself. :P

  • i could be he lived in Canada for alittle maybe he can speak french i'm trying to find out now :)

  • I think this is Laurent Ban

  • I love the French language, but I'm partial to the english lyrics. Mostly because I heard it first. Notre Dame de Paris however, I can only listen to in French.

  • Who is singing this? I think Cecilia Cara did Christine. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • love the note he hits at 3:59

    well... im obsessed with it

  • @straightedge654 i can sing this song mostly in his voice! especially that one note....but which do you think is better: this phantom or gerard butler (english) phantom?

  • thxxxxx, lc13chiquis, i have been looking for this lyrics in french for ages!!!! u r super!!!!!!

  • LYRICS (Sorry i didn't put the accents)

  • i love this version better than the english... well, only because the guy singing has such an amazing voice :P

  • Gerry sonne comme le chant en français!

  • I'm French but I prefer the English version even if the French version is great.

  • anybody can sendme the lyric in french please!!

  • oh my, quite beautiful:_

  • Excellent in French! About time the Phantom in the PARIS opera house spoke French! ;)

  • I agree with you!

  • He does. I know him. If you don't believe me, ask xXxAkatsukiLovaxXx.

    Lisa

  • @justin09452 Quite. I live about 50 metres from the Paris Opera. I can sometimes hear these two faintly in the night air...

  • can you send me this song please?

    schmek_rulz_06@hotmaildotcom

  • Actually the story takes place in France , so French fits the history better

  • The Phantom & Christine I think were not meant to be French, so this is not their native language.

Christine was Swedish I think & No-one knows exactly where Erik was born.

  • that's true, but their common language is french ;)

never mind i think it sounds awesome.

  • You're right, Christine is Swedish. Eirk is from this one area in France where it's a mix of French and German. It's a real place; I remember learning it in French. I just forgot what it's called. If you're curious as to how I know, read Phantom of Manhattan. I recommend it to any Phantom Phan.

  • Phantom of Manhattan is what Webber is using to make the sequel.

I think it is a disgrace to the original book. It doesn't get you to feel for Erik or anyone else and the whole story was odd.

It was also much more inaccurate.

The original novel is far better.

  • I was born in France. My mother was part German, though.

  • Please post the lyrics!! I can understand parts of the dialogue but reading would be much easier.

  • Trés belle voix, bonne interpretation.

This song is best in English, but Italian, Spanish and French versions work. They are called the "Romance" languages after all. Maybe this will sound good in Portuguese too.

  • lyrics please?

  • Phantom in it's original language! Absolutely wonderful!

  • its funny. The PHantom of the opera was orgnally a french Opera but to me it sounds prettier in english.

  • It was originally a French novel, the musical was originally in English.

Still, it is nice to hear the characters singing in their native language.

  • i've heard, german, french, italian.... i still remain loyal to gerard butler. then the italian version. this makes me shudder

  • I prefer Italian-English-Spanish version

    The voice don't like me

  • OK, is it just me, or was this longer a few weeks ago? I don't remember it cutting off midphrase, but now it's stopping midway through "promets-moi que tu..." I know what it's sposed to be, but I'm not hearing it.

  • It happen sometimes. A few months ago I had the same problem with other video clips here, and I chose not to open the clips for a few weeks. And after those weeks it turned out to be all right and I didn't do anything at all.

  • Gerard Butler- you get used to. And it's not all that bad. it has feeling and coolness to it. As with this version. I know like all the lyrics. even though I don't know how to spell french that well, I could sing it. :D

  • This is so cool.

La Musique de La Nuit...Très bon!

  • @MMusashi1 I know! I love saying La Musique de la Nuit!

  • gerard is better in my opinion.

he puts more emotion in the song.

    just my opinion.

    =]

  • Gerard makes me sick... not a pretty voice at all. I would suggest looking up Franc D'ambrosio if you want a REAL phantom :)

  • Um, I'm sorry. I love the fact that the songs to "The Phantom of the Opera" were sung in French - but Laurent Ban (the voice of the French Phantom) is not my cup of tea at all. But at least its lovely to hear the lyrics sung in French.

  • Could anyone give me lyrics? So beautiful!

  • I'm working on it. It's been awhile since I tryed typing what I hear instead of just translating it mentally. :)

  • Je suis adore le version dans francais. Magnifique.

  • Very fitting to have this in French, I agree with Ilyssa. Awesomeness! There are a few points where he sounded a tad whiney, but hey, it is French (no offense to anyone French, it's just how stuff's pronounced) and he's a LOT better than the English one!

  • I love the French Phantom. His voice is to die for.

  • zomg! ~_~

  • The French version oh, my God I love it! I have the DVD with the French version of Music Of The Night this version is so awesome just like the movie its self Emmy Rossum is the best Christine I've ever seen the song took me a while to learn. But now I know the French version of this son along with All I Ask Of You and The Phantom Of The Opera song!I love Phantom Of The Opera! You rule Phantom! God bless Phantom for being such an awesome show and movie!

  • do you know where i can get the french lyrics i've been looking zealously for like a week and can't find them

  • Comment removed

  • Hey! you added this on my birthday!! ...creepy, but COOL!! lol i like it. french is such a pretty language.

  • He sounds mildly whiney. But other than that, it's all good. Much better than Gerard.

  • Wow. I'm impressed and disappointed - impressed with the talent of this man. Disappointed that we got stuck with Gerry. Dun get me wrong! *hides from psycho fangirls* He's HAWT, capital H! He just can't sing. And this guy can. Glad to have this clip accessible.

  • thankyou so much angelic! I've been waiting for someone who finally feels the same way as i do. They should have put John Owen Jones as the phantom instead of gerard butler. Rachel Barrel should have been Christine, and any Raoul would do.

  • No, he can't sing at all, can he? My vote would have been for Hugh Panaro... and we get stuck with Gerard Butler. Damn...

  • question. Are the people writing in french here actually french? Like...is french thier first language? Cause if it isn't..how long did it tak e you to write that? I'm studying french but its hard - ish.

  • French is not my first langage, but I have studied a while. It took me about a minute to write that, I just had to remember the verb congegations. I said I don't like the French, but love the Italian. And I agree with Irae and want to hit him with a big heavy chair for mutilating the beautiful work.

  • No, I'm not French, but I know French. I'm Spanish.

  • I understodd bits and pieces of it! Five months of French a year ago really is useful...

The Phantom's voice in this version - to die for.

(i don't really like the french version... and there are a few moments when i really would like to kick him with a big heavy chair... on the other hand, the italian version is wonderfull)

  • I think it's very fitting to have a French version, considering the original story of the Phantom of the Opera was written in French. "La Fantome de l'Opera" I liked this very much! The editing was superb!

  • if you have a chance...do u have 'the mirror/angel of music'?

  • The Best Music of the Night I've ever heard ^^
