He had a fever of 104 that night am I right? VERY impressive performance. He was a drummer in a rock band, is a guitarist, a singer-songwriter yet he managed to pull off an Andrew Lord Webber song lol. He has my absolute respect.

And might I add, the Studio version is FANTASTIC.

The studio version is absolutely STUNNING! Very breatakingly beautiful and haunting. I detest musicals, Catz in particular but I can listen to his renditon on repeat.

I'm in my 20s, im not a teenager that obsseses over "cute boys" anymore and seeing someone with a pretty face certainly wouldnt win my vote, especially since im so passionate abt music. I know there are alot of peole that may not vote for the right reasons and not just with jason. But just know that their are people out there who truly find jason a unique raw talent, even if others dont think so.

i do agree that this was one of the weaker performances by jason, but i don't think a lot of people knew he was very sick at the time. also, i like jason b/c he is probably the only contestant left who is competing based on raw talent and not years of vocal training, etc. i think he has had the most memorable performances (ex. hallelujah and somewhere over the rainbow) and that is really something to commend. i like most of the contestants this year, but i just think jason is the most real.

Sanjaya was terrible and he was on the show. Jason is terrible too. He can only sing a handful of songs well because they aren't hard songs to sing: hallelujah, and Over the Rainbow. But do whatever you want. Simon has already stated if these bad singers keep getting voted on because of their looks and popularity with the public, they will cancel the show because that wasn't the intent of the show. If Simon really said theyll cancel the show if bad singers keep being voted thru than hes dissing himself as a judge.The judges r the ones who put the contestants thru to the top 24 out of the thousands of ppl who audition. They should know what it takes to sell records & its not just a big voice. y does it surprise them that ppl vote for whoever appeals to them? isnt that how music is? u buy what u like even though its not "correct" for some ppl. I agree with some of the stuff you say. BUT there's one this you still haven't addressed, the point of the show isn't to vote for the person you think would sell the most albums. And as far as the judges and the top 24, they give the spots to people they feel should be given the opportunity. Then it's up the contestants to do well or not, those who don't will A) either be voted off, or B)in current seasons, saved by adoring fans who think they're hot.

I would still be a fan. Here are my reasons. Alot of contestants have what i call "fake emotion" they put on a phoney smile, parade around onstage & thats mistaken for emotion. However, one of the most appealing factors about jason is his genuiness. I can tell who he is just by watching him perform. I love how he can capture the emotion of a song & project it through his delivery. Isnt that what music is all about? invoking emotion? Sometimes even the ones with the biggest vocals fail to do that

Ok I agree with you on that. It's good for an artist to be able to convey emotion in a song. A lot of the artists on Idol do it. As far as me, I don't see Castro deliver much emotion at all because what he sings is part of his natural voice and not part of emotion.

Why does he always sound so much worse live? I kind of agreed with Randy last night, but whenever I listen again on youtube, he sounds so much better. Been like that for weeks. He is limited vocally, got no argument from me there, but this was pretty good actually, not a trainwreck at all

i must agree with simon and randy..it was okayish but his voice is just way too breathy..like he doesn't use his diaphragm at all and it lacks power. he's basically only good at one style
