I like Frida a lot, she is a great star and one of the most important female singers ever, but this hair styleI am sorry It doesnt work, why didnt she keep it like it was in 1978, or 1976.
I like Frida more because she was gorgeous but she dyed her hair pink, purple etc because she just wanted to have fun while Agnetha in post ABBA presentations is super made up like she was all that. This song kicks ass too. :D
Thanks for uploading this TV-promo version of a Phil Collins song written with Lyngstad in mind; Atlantic Records distributed "Frida - Something's Going On" in the USA when MTV Music Television was just getting underway.

I love this song and love Frida singing it! I must have watched to many times! :) She's one of my favourites! Hope everyone enjoys this just as much as me :)
Frida got better producers.Phil Collins did this good.Maybe he was in the air that night....Scotland did never sound so outstanding when Frida had her Heart Of A Country.Still my favourite Frida song...
Frida and Abba, lest we forget, is as Simon Cowell says, "was the greateast band in the world." That can be said for a number of reasons, English, German, Swedish and Spanish versions of their songs played to a larger world audience. Today's music is crap. The wasted talent that imitates Britney's crying sounds that people call singing is crap - and all the other boo hoo no talent artists are of the same category - boo hoo crap. Frida was 37 here. Lets see how Britney moves at 37.
In the 70's and early 80's all microphones had cords. It was Madonna who I recall pioneered the cordless mic in concert performances so she could dance at the same time. Otherwise, all performances were prone to lip synching, such as this one. But this music was not as typical of the times as the 80's was a fast paced tempos, but it sure is a familiar sound when you listen to some of the other music Phil Collins produced.
For you to know it was not Madonna the first one using cordless mic in concert performance, It was Kate Bush in 1979, also she was the pioneer of givin the idea to Madonna and all this singer how to perform on stage with costumes and coreography, obviously Madonna always get the credits but Kate is the truly artist
I stand corrected. Kate Bush has always been ground-breaking and this does not surprise me. My point was not to take credit away from Kate from being unique, but to point out how performers before the cordless era had much different obstacles to contend with when performing on stage.

MrChickyBee - She was wonderful with ABBA, and had a nice solo career. "I know Theres Something Going On" is a great song. That being said, if she were an artist trying to break in to the biz today, she simply wouldnt make it. She is stiff and doesnt move well, which may have worked in the 70's, but not in today's world.
Yes, I agree....she lost much in the visual translation....maybe a more colder approach and let the sound of her voice and hypnotic drums dominate instead of that hideous party frock.
I've always been an ABBA fan since I was a kid. The first album I ever bought by myself was "ABBA, The Arrival." I still have it. Does anyone know where the members are now? I know they split up, but just wondered if they still have any contact with each other. My kids loved the A Teens. Gotta admit, I listened to their cd's more than they did! My kids were blown away when they saw my vids of ABBA and how they did the original songs. LOL!
On August 26, 1992, Anni-Frid Lyngstad married Prince Heinrich Ruzzo Reuss von Plauen (May 24, 1950 -- October 29, 1999). The prince died of lymphoma in 1999
Today, Lyngstad still engages in charity work - environmental issues in particular. In 2005, she stated in an interview that she had no interest in a music career, though eighteen months later she returned to the recording studio. She currently lives in Zermatt, Switzerland.Wikipedia
i kinda know wats happened to em. benny and bjorn still work 2gether apparently and agnetha has cut herself from the public life completely, she lives in sweden, dosent allow herself 2 be photographed or anything. they do get in touch and meet up every now and again, but not very often.
Anni-Frid Lyngstad is one fabulous woman. She and Agnetha Faltskog singing together were incomparable, but Anni-Frid's work as a soloist is superb. Thanks to agnetha4ever for this good post and trip down memory lane to 1982.
By the way, is it only me, or is it just as much fun to watch Benny perform as it is to hear Agnetha and Frida sing? As a guitar player in dance bands ( when I was much younger!! ) I know it isn't always easy to look like you are having fun onstage -- yet, Benny always seemed to be having the best time of his life. :--) LOL!! I guess he's my favorite, too! :--)
I don't know if I'd say it was as much fun to watch Benny as it was the girls, especially when they wore the catsuits. But he did seem to be having the most fun. He's also the one who seems to have aged the least over the years. He still looks remarkably like he did when ABBA whas in their Heyday.
This is wonderful, but don't let negative comments throw you. We all have our favorites; myself, of the four, actually prefer Frida -- but the margin of preference is so small you'd have trouble inserting a thin sheet of paper. :--) Individually, they were all good -- together, they were magic. In fact, when I listen to the great solo performances after ABBA, I can't help but feel " This is good....but, something's missing!". You both are wonderful for sharing these ; keep 'em coming!
I agree. Both girls had great individual voices and when they put them together it was magic. I like a lot of the post ABBA stuff Agnetha did but it just wasn't the same as when they sang together.
Very cool thing to do! Like I say, I'm obviously a big Aggy fan, but all four did this not just one. That is why I do the Frida vids also, plus it's a very good peacemaker. I've never had any trouble! (knock wood!)
Thanks Jim, I upset some people with some pro-Agnetha comments that were misinterpreted to be anti Frida. But, it's kind of obvious that the two of them together made magic.
You'll always have people who only see things one way. These people, sadly enough, will never see things both ways. I try to(and I hate this word)apise the fans of both ladies, but I'll obviously lean heavy on Aggy. That in no way means that Frida is less important, but you just can't please everyone. In the end, you do things your way and it'll work out fine. Keep up the great work! Jim~
