  • whi is this not already goin on

  • es gab auch mal eine lösung mit einem triebwerk um tunnel zu löschen,.... und da passt ne menge wasser durch

  • If fire haven't burned and CO2 didn't suffocate, you still have a chance to be hit with powder grenade!

  • has this actually been tested in real life?

  • Hurricane motherfucker is on the way...but no problem Metal storm pods can shoot it in the eye. MENTAL STORM

  • Americans!!! Shoot the fire out. Fire retarded!!

  • Finally a really useful way for the MS.

  • @freitasnetuno

I like the multibarrel preloaded mortar setups, those are great.

  • Fire retarding grenades are... Retarded?

  • So..... we use a machinegun to put out fires...? NIIICE!!!

  • this is bullshit. How many fucking barrels? ha ha. There is no room for any other equipment.

  • LOL its like power rangers XDDD

  • In the future, we could reproduce with metal storm technology ;)

  • this is badass!

  • I want a metal storm gun

  • Shaken... but safe... unless you were sitting in the 10 rows on either side of where the plane split in half...

  • @karbengo

The us army are the ones funding the metal storm weapons project even tho Australia owns it so I don't think that are having trouble selling weapons

  • this wouldn't happen if there weren't crashes

  • Hooray for retarded fires! But seriously, why drive to the fire when you got a fire-killing grenade launcher? Seems kind of stupid, at least in the airport scenario.

  • yes i agree the fire is dangerous and needs to be put out

  • @ralfjacobs Yeah, the whole, "this is dangerous to the passengers in the aircraft" was a bit too much.

  • That's kinda cool, I guess.

  • What happens with wind? and is it just me or does the driver have to guess how far the target is away?

  • What happens with wind?

  • @porky130 It shoots at a velocity of 4000 mph. It can rip through wind like a napkin.

  • @PivotXL1 retard its 4000 FPS FEET PER SECOND not miles per hour, thats just crazy

  • @firebomber39 I know how they measure velocity but I converted it to miles so you can get an example of how powerful it is. It's not impossible you will see if production of this weapon is complete.

  • @PivotXL1 so ur saying the bullet is going almost 6000 FPS?

  • @firebomber39 5866. Jumping 200 FPS is a big jump even in estimation but yes, yes I am. Bullets are separated by ignitable fluids that propel the bullet forward when the trigger is squeezed. Since it's completely electric the velocity it is shot is twice as much as a 50 caliber sniper rifle (for all kinds of ammunition even grenades which result in bigger explosions and even possible future rifles).

  • So why would you pull up right next to the airplane? With a system like this, and time being so critical I'd just shoot from the firehouse or wherever I had line of sight. I get it in the building, but the real lifesaver would be when the truck didn't need to go way out to the plane, I can't imagine that jet fuel burning slow. Also isn't smoke a top killer in a fire? All the time that suckers burning the fuselage is becoming a gas chamber. It's a gun stand back and let it work.

  • Sp they're going to use something that shoots at 600rpm with metal cartridges right beside a plane.....

What are the chances of the metal cartridges hitting the plane and hitting people inside it?

  • @celv1: It shoots upwards and then comes down. It explodes in mid-air as well so its highly unlikely to happen.

  • @Fortstorm Ohh, never knew that :P

  • @celv1 It shoots 1,000,000 rounds per minute.

  • the engine was still on fire

  • Next time, when the flowers in my garden need some water, i water them with metal storm!

  • that aircraft thing..meh maybe but what are the odds to shoot those thing inside the window..u can only detect the height to shoot,it's not like they are guided missiles

  • I see it coming .. Metal Strom for toilets :D

  • To use a gun for firefighting? I think they are desperate to find new applications to sell their stuff because the military isn't interested.

  • @karbengo: Have you seen what this thing can do? I find it highly unlikely the military don't care for it.

  • 2:26...Too high for ladders but not too high for Spiderman!

  • How did you get the exact same voice over as the original metal storm video?

  • It would suck if it needed to reboot.

  • Drivers Ed graphics FTW!

  • Using bullets to put out fires... How about using all the space wasted on propellant and launchers to store fire retardant and a dispenser nozzle, just like they do today?! What next, a metal storm medication dispenser for hospitals?

  • This is a fucking good method to stop a fire

  • being trapped in a fire is already fucked up.

but if they would also fire a shitload of powdernades at me, it would really ruin my fuckin day!!!

  • @undergroundmasterrr

    more like end it

  • lololololololololololol

  • Wow, there wasnt touch screen phones 15 years ago..and now look at what we have..technology these days...damn

  • That fire truck looks hostile.

  • Wow what a load of bollocks.

  • awwww... i thought they were going to use metal storm durring a real fire fight in war!!! im dissapointed

  • Lol

  • I cant see this working, especially if those canisters fail on the burning aircraft you have to get to a crashed airceaft within 2 minuites and have it extinguished within 1 minuite. if those canisters fail or the wind is to strong it will take alot of the power away from the critical area. foam is still the best extingiushing media to use on that. also you would have to be a good shot to get those canisters through a window on a high floor.

  • not practical

  • How do magnets work?

  • The company was founded in 1994... I guess this video must have been made somewhere around then... Ehh, the guy talking -- his voice, that's the strangest part of the video... Really bizarre.

  • that would be pretty cool to see... a fire truck pulls up, harmless enough, then just starts shooting little (whatevers) at the building. lol. i dont know what they are that it would be shooting.

  • i remember watching this when i was 4 my grandpa would find it on the internet and show it to me im 12 now god i miss the days when i was younger and wasnt expected to do on my own. goodtimes.goodtime.

  • these new guns are amazingj

and arnt only used for lethal tasks

  • amazing!

  • I lol'd at this. This is Metal Storm trying to sell their shit to the civilian market because the military has decided it's just stupid.

  • @hazonku

Since the fire engine took so long it may aswell destroyed the plane. I do not like the idea of using guns to put out fires.

  • @G777GUN

Air burst means nothing but powder will rain down, and even if the "bullets" faild to explode, theyre non leathel, there for the plane is perfactly safe

  • @jonathan4178

Okay so how do you firebullets with powder in them. What is the bullet casing made of.

  • @G777GUN Metal Storm uses electrically ignited propellant firing, like the VEC-91.

  • Whoever designed metal storm deserves a friggin metal!

    What a genious.

  • you cant dis these graphics!!

  • Can metalstorm get me laid?

  • @Tekhsheen yes but its like humpin a terminator.

  • Sweet.

  • i would like to see this in real life. would be pretty cool

  • oh damn that...nobody dying in fires anymore..........wait......

  • nice

  • i am NOT from america and i am still laughing about 1 thing A black man in the White house? xD

  • Thats good! They made new tech. Go Metal STORM! xD

  • i kept laughing at the shitty "Du DuDu" drum noises haha

  • hmmm FAIL yh il just fire a shit load of metal at the peeps in the fire u need a extendable arm wich sprays foam ;)

  • If one of the shells fails to "detonate", some unlucky passenger is going to be hit by what is essentially a high-speed fire-extinguisher.

  • haha

  • yea totally man a small canister is totally gonna penetrate a jet airliner

  • hmmm not bad how about using metal storm to put out forest fires. You could fire those canisters from an aircraft downward.

  • yeah y not just use a homing missile with that powder instead lolz

  • Why the hell do they always make the controller sound gay?

  • Lol what if a crime/ terrorist organization stole one of these trucks, they would just have to find explosive rounds and they would be a fortress on wheels

  • If they happen to get to it. If they happen to get it without anyone noticing, if they happen to reload it without anyone noticing, if they happen to get it off the airport without anyone noticing, even then, military gets called in, and their slow moving, non-armored "fortress on wheels" gets turned into scrap by either a hail of gunfire, or something else, prehaps an anti tank rocket.

  • "metal storm is so smart that it wont obey the terrorists' orders" (gay operator's voice)

  • um no. the the projectiles are in the conainers.

if the container is shot empty it has to be reloaded by the producing manufacture.

you can't just put a grenade launcher ammunition into it. the fire mechanisme is different.

  • ha ha he said fire retarded

  • lol, the "passengers" were walking away like GODDAMN BRAIN DAWGS

  • Damn where was this on 9/11. Yeah Bush wouldn't have wanted this, that's for sure

  • It was probably in a RnD facility. In Australia.

  • stop with that shit, 9/11 was done by US goverment, not Osama or any of those arab monkeys

  • um duh? That's what i was saying...

  • -.- then why would the us government destroy the pentagon?

  • that one section of the Pentagon is where the military planned the attacks...

  • I was wondering if the air current would be taken into consideration. Because it is an airstrip which does not have buildings to obstruct the current of air, and with a raging fire which would be sucking air in a random pattern, I think that the powder pellets would not get shot as accurately as is predicted in the video.

Nice technology though. Very innovative. 5 stars.

  • hope yous aren't running vista

  • metal strom guns are a very nice technology too bad shares went from 4 dollars to 50 cents in the last2 - 3 years

  • The liberal congress and obama are slahing all funding for this type of stuff

  • Interesting adaptation of this technology. Metal Storm is quite cool even if it's not practical to some standards.

I think their problem is that they did not think big enough... think Howitzer sized mortars and they might then get more attention. In America, bigger is better!

  • what if there were people in there??? Would it have still worked

  • So THIS is how they sell their product to the american government with social acceptance!

    i get it now.

    fucking disgusting.

  • Lol @ 1.48

  • The Australian company completely failed to raised interest in its initial project of 1 000 000 rounds / minute gun. (they got a tiny contract in 5 years !)

They are desperately trying to escape an imminent bankruptcy. Their shares are worth 0$ and they face tremendous losses. (Crooks ?)

  • actually they have numerous contracts thought the ADF

  • An interesting idea, but I doubt it's practicality and the fire service is notorious for not liking to change it's methods. Any significant usage of this technology is decades away at least.

  • OMG WATER GUNS? What will they think of next?

  • Hey atleast they thought of something. What have you done with your life besides typing stupid comments on youtube?

  • doing stupid things in real life.

and they didnt think of water guns. They thought of EXTREMELY POWERFUL WATERGUNS. which pokemon did first.

  • water?

  • yes water

  • lol theres still planes flying 0:53

  • In that last 20 seconds or so those pods would be going at such a velocity that they could probably penetrate the ceiling.

  • Which is why they were airbursting ;)

  • 0:40 to 0:45 = no shit

  • lol maybe the creators thought the audience would think it was really cartoon fire and not be concerned.

  • i actually said 'no shit' out loud when i was watching this hahah

  • same here haha

  • @McLovinMcNugget no fucking duhh!!!

  • metalstorm is actually Australian. It was based in Brisbane, but not sure about it now. They originally tried to sell their product to the american army, and now have a general on their team to help design and engineer weapon systems.

  • no, it was based off of australlian technology, but it is 100% american built and designed.

  • But not tested. Still tested in the outback of Western Australia. Americans think they have the best of everything...

  • Stupid inability to reply to comments. Metalstorm is still owned by the Australian Defence still afaik.

  • Actually Americans are buying this.

  • looks cool and good concept but is it only a prototype still?

  • been prototype for 2 years so... probably not a prototype anymore :\

  • passangers left shake but not stirred.

  • Genial! Is ite an american invention? I think so, the idea of bringing antiflammant on a BALLISTIC way to the fire seems cowboystyle ;)

  • metal storm´s awsome

  • this is awesome!

  • fireretarded powder.. i dun get it..

  • it means it retards the fire. believe it or not, retard mean slow down

  • This would be fucking hilarious if Robot Chicken did a spoof on it. Like instead of powder they put in .50 cal bullets by accident and as the bullets hit the plane you see the peoples faces. But yeah this system seems interesting.

  • Nah, if RC was going to do it they'd use leftovers from a slaughterhouse floor. OR even better they could introduce the worlds first extreme chicken nugget dispenser and take it to Ethiopia or something along those lines.

  • words can't describe how hard I laughed at the Ethiopia thing.

Horrrible thing to laugh at but still.

    :'D

  • safe until someone gets hit with one of the shells! I suppose they could be made to avoid being lethal. Awesome idea for sure!

  • now where the hell were these trucks on 9/11?

  • geile idee finde ich gut

  • they ran out of funding or something O.o??

  • It's to get the point across not look cool like video games. Why spend millions to make he same point as a couple hundred thousand.

  • !And baby why are those firemans shooting on us after we survived this horrible crash ? Clam donw honey, they are just saving us :)))) But anyway this is not a bad idea.

  • This must be the greatest pr stunt ever for a weapons manufacturer. And for once it might even work. I wonder if this tec is cost efficient...

  • i love how there are actual people on here mocking MetalStorm's technology...I've done tech work for the military before, and this technology by far has the highest potential...we (the USA) have already begun talks with the Australians about this, for quite a while actually. If you see in person the firing capabilities of MetalStorm's technology when it comes to handguns, mortar, and even grenade launching, you'd shit your pants and cry.

  • The Australian government though is blocking most moves between the US and Metal Storm. We just got a new Government voted in here and they're holding the US's rejection over Australia requesting to buy F-22s and the new USN Amphibious Assault Ships. The ADF though is jumping up and down over what they are producing though, I live in Brisbane where they are made and their newest weapon is an Air Marshal Pistol.

  • every notice when they demonstrate this thing at a fire in this video, theres always 1 more fire left?

  • yeah

its just to show how much they could tak out..because they know they could extinguish all the flames just the main/center/most lethal part of the fire

  • these would be perfect at stationary area around the airport..acts like mortar shot no? That way you can fight the fire immediately before units get to the scene. INVEST!!!!

  • Pile o SHIT!!!

  • Sorry but that is the most over engineered thing I have ever seen..

  • Yay, the Sims are saved! Thank you, Metal Storm!

  • they spend thousands of dollars inventing metal storm but can spend a few hundreds for a decent presentation?

  • Is that seriously the " High tech " computer screen that they would use in the vehicle? Looks like it wouldnt be very fast to use

  • cool

  • lol he didn't circle in red a part of the right wing

  • this is high tech that is acualy being tested in real life on test fields. this is a promotional video from the company

  • Guys... by the time you figure out how far away it is how high it is and where the center is everyone will be dead by then...

  • it takes way less time to do things the traditional way though

on question - how the hell do you control whether they bounce off the roof?!

  • They're not going to introduce this kind of tech and not train people on how to use it. You notice they fired test rounds to see if they're approximation was right? Well yeah, because obviously it was a guess. It wasn't exact, and it doesn't need to be. They adjust based on how close they got. It'd take a lot less time than you'd think. And so you can spend an hour firing relatively weak water spray, or you can take a minute or two to check your fire, and then take down most of it in one go.

  • this is very dangerous NO SHIT!!

  • It seems to me, that all of this is only a COMPUTER simulation. It hasn't been tested in real life so I wonder if it really works...

People tend to think "OMG it looks real, therefore it is!!!" but I like to see cold hard evidence before I judge it. No doubt the Metal Storm system works, but as a nonmilitary application, I still have some doubts.

  • well all ideas have to start some where. so instead of wasting money to find out it doesnt work people make simulations and hypothesis.

  • I don't see why not. The technology exists. And the great thing is, it doesn't have to be accurate. I doubt 6 canisters of flame retardent into an open window have much change of making it inside at that angle, but then, metalstorm is designed to launch massive numbers of rounds. It's saturation bombing.

Man, makes me wonder what will become of conventional shotguns. Effectively obsolete.

  • A whole load of fuel? I didn't realize load was a unit of measure.

  • Who said it was?

  • Well, the video says "a whole load of fuel". Its like 2 scoops.

  • As in "plane-load" or even "truck-load" dipshit. The entirety of the load which is carried by the 'plane.

  • Maybe I should explain that I like numbers. If they said it held x amount of fuel, and the whole load is dumping out onto the runway, than I'd be more accepting of the whole load idea.

I am t3hsn1p3r on a new profile, and who are you calling dipshit? I think its completely reasonable to question what "whole load" means and having real numbers would make a much better presentation.

  • maybe hes saying it was FULL? a whole "load"

    dipshit

  • 1:47 guy on his knees

  • Metal Storm is electronic ballistics technology invented by James Michael O'Dwyer. He is an inventor who grew up in Muttaburra, Queensland, Australia. If you can believe Wikipedia
