the new qt4/kde4. the old amarok looked so windows 95-like.. in fact the whole kde3/qt3 was like that. ugly cartoonish icons, and ugly widgets. gnome and banshee and other stuff like that are what i used before kde4, but those looked like windows 98 or something(better then kde3 but still ugly in my opinion). KDE4 and all it's apps are the best desktop environment i've ever seen (beat vista or osx in my opinion). I really don't get what's with all the crap the kde devs are getting from users.
are all these people retarded? amarok 2 rules. it's very easy to use and logical. on the left you have the media sources (files/media library/radio etc.), on the right you have the playlist and in the middle you have info about the currently playing track, all customizable. the upper part of the screen contains nice BIG play/pause/stop/whatever buttons, un like amarok 1.4 where they were tiny and in a NOT obvious place. it moves quickly on my computer and it looks good and integrated with ...
Amarok 2 to be honest looks crap, If you want some advice get inspiration from iTunes 8 or the Banshee Media player. At the moment I think I would settle for a dos ui.
I used to love amarok, but now I feel disappointed about it, it's like a setback, I do not understand why developers did this with a great piece of software
I didn't like Amarok 2 either. I really loved Amarok 1. It's the feel or Amarok 2, it is slow, it lacks that slick interface as Amarok 1. And the worst of all, the playlist is awful, I hate them with coverart all over. The current trak fonts are too big as well as the icons.
Probably that's a reason why many people stoped donating.
But let's wait until the final release. Probably the Developers will give us a surprise. ;-)
I didn't like the handling, looks and feel of Amarok 2 one bit. I'm sorry, but I will continue using Amarok 1.x as long as it's around.

I agree with phailquail. I really hope someone fork amarok1 as well as kde 3.5 . Kde4 is awful. They made it more complex than necessary.

If anyone uses Gnome, you guys should look into Exaile.

The things I like about Amarok 2 are it's new features. Amarok 1 with Amarok 2 features whould have ruled.
