Louis Vuiton should say LV made in paris engraved on the item once or more. The LV on the bags should always be the right way e.g. LV not upside down or back to front etc! + the monograms on the LV bags are all equally seperated most fakes have more monograms (patterns)

How about not pointing out the obvious ways to spot, people creating replicas are good, however there are specific details that can tell a fake from a orginal:

1. the 5 side pentagon that holds the straps ALWAYS has 5 stiches across the top

2. Louis vuitton has a very specific font, notice how round th "O" is I would almost say a "ariel" type of font... almost... anything "times new roman" look is fake.

The leather isn't different. i don't personally own one but my friend's say that there's eventually turn darker after being in the sunlight for a certain amount of time
