  • look for the bluray for the most breathtaking view this film ever had

  • while the Masterpiece may have a better contrast, I found myself watching the Un-anniversary edition. It seems that less is in fact more.

  • I think the 2010 edition better represents the original colors. The Masterpiece editions colors are way over-saturated.

  • the masterpiece edition look colorful than the un-anniversary edition, but the un-anniversary looks more detailed

  • The flower seen is ssssoooooo pretty and they sing not like in the book where the flowers insult her; oh, why oh why don't they still make videos likein the old days-sigh-.

  • It looks better in the Masterpiece Edition

  • Cross you eyes and it will look in 3-D!

  • @zingarzahoy26 hehe I tried it. It worked! XD

  • I really, really wish Disney wouldn't mess with the colors in these classic films. Here it doesn't seem as bad/noticeable, but the more recent editions of movies like Pinocchio have dark and muddy colors in scenes that were originally bright and colorful. I think I prefer the left, the lines seem more defined and it has slightly stronger contrast, making the characters stand out more and giving the impression that they're surrounded by thick grass. Alice's hair and skin also looks more accurate.

  • Hmm

Looks like for 2010 Disney made the color try to match the original print

  • Nice comparison. As for the upcoming "Special 60th Anniversary Edition" on Blu-Ray, it might do the same than the DVD does. The "60th Anniversary Edition" will be coming out on Blu-Ray starting on February 1st, 2011.

  • Impossible, I did my own comparison The 2010 Un-Anniversary Edition DVD uses the exact same transfer as the 2004 Masterpiece Edition DVD. I couldn't spot a difference.

The real comparison will be when the 60th Anniversary Blu-Ray comes out next year.

  • Why didn't Disney recolor the movie for the 2010 DVD

  • @livinlarge18 Because it was already restored.

  • How come your "Alice in Wonderland" Masterpiece DVD looks different than mine?

  • How does it look different? I just used Dazzle DVD Recorder with Pinnacle Studio 14. I didn`t alter it in any way.

  • Frankly, my Masterpiece DVD has more detail than your Masterpiece DVD, but has less brightness than your Un-Anniversary DVD. This is honestly the first time I've heard there might be a difference in picture quality between the two.

  • @dsneybuf you should think that it's because of your tv. Most tvs look different, because they're at different picture settings-but the content is meant to look the same on all tvs. look into do-it-yourself calibration. it works wonders.

And I'm totally getting the blu-ray next year. There were rumors of it and it's confirmed.

  • @8to16to35 I don't want this to sound rude, but is it possible your Masterpiece DVD was mislabeled? If it doesn't have the deleted song "I'm Odd" or the Virtual Wonderland Party, it's actually the Gold Classic DVD from 2000.

  • The only diffrence appart form color is that the crops more of the pictures on the right while the newer crops more from the left.

  • The Un-Anniversary Version is a huge improvement. You can see the more details of the painted background, now that the contrast has been increased and color looks more natural.
